If engine is in veh & transmission connected, locate breaker bar against something solid and some give the starter a flick.

This is how I've always done it, but I always get nervous when I give it the flick. Never had a problem so far.

Thankfully it doesn't take all that long to search my driveway.

Last night he broke his back leg without any obvious reason, today the vet opened him up in hope of being able to pin his leg but found the bone had degraded possibly due to cancer and he never woke up.

He was almost 15yo so had a long life but he will really be missed.

Nobody stocks anything any more. Your lucky they had the vehicle, or did you have to wait for that as well. I had to wait a week for an exhaust for my Kia truck to come from Singapore. Kia in Osborne Park said it was the third one they had to get in in a month. Maybe that should tell them somthing - no, probably not.

I had to wait, but it was on my conditions, but it was delivered on time. The hatch hasn't hit our shores, yet. I rang somebody up for aftermarket seat covers, but there's a 6-8 week wait because it's a brand new model and they haven't had any requests yet. I'm just about over it. here's what made me angry today:
i recently upgraded from my Pathfinder to my new (new to me) 2010 Patrol GU.

I need to set up the Patrol to carry my kayak.

so I call the local 4x4 guys I bought my expensive Rhino roof rack and kayak carrier from and ask them "any chance we can just just transfer the rack with new feet that will fit gutters instead of replacing the whole thing, it looks a bit too short to my eye to do that but i'm trying to save money, etc"
After clarifying years and models of cars etc they reply "oh yeah, no worries we can do that , just replace the feet"

I drive over.

one look at the old rack/kayak carrier they say:
"oh no we need to replace the bars and feet...$400"

I said "ill have to have a think about it

GRRRR
I'm pretty sure i can find basic gutter cross bars and universal kayak carriers for a LOT less than that.

Quiz time. What do you reckon would happen here:

I'm on the freeway doing 100km/h.
There's a police car in front of me without lights flashing.
We pass an 80km/h roadwork sign.
The cop car slows down to 80km/h so I have to as well.
I high beam the cop for slowing down in front of me.

No answers? Well this never happened, that would be totally illegal and would no doubt have copped a fine.

So then what happens here:

I'm on the freeway doing 100km/h.
There's 2 police cars in front of me without lights flashing.
We pass an 80km/h roadwork sign.
The cop cars slow down to 80km/h and I do as well.
Another cop car comes up behind me without lights flashing doing more than 80km/h (they're travelling together).
The cop car behind me high beams me for slowing down to the speed limit.

Hmm whaf happens now?

I stay at 80km/h in front and don't pull left as next lane is full and he has no flashing lights or siren. I'm legal and he's high beamed me for obeying the road rules.

Hear on the radio Critical Response Group are on their way to Avalon Airport for a TRAINING EXERCISE.

THAT'S WHAT MADE ME ANGRY!

I like the gobfull of soot idea but since we all look after our babies none would produce such smoke im sure
I think in nsw these road work speed limits are rarely enforced because they are not officially gazetted speed limits?
I obey them mostly out of fear nonetheless
Shat pi$$es me off to no end is the slowing us down 1 km ahead only to find out there isnt a single soul working on the road!
If i go and slow traffic down for no reason ill cop a fine
If someone leaves reduced speed signeage on the road that seems fine
In fact that should be criminal
The more often i see needless slow down signs the more this becomes like the boy who cried wolf as drivers will start ignoring them

I hate to say it, but you are probably a 'marked man'. The guy who built our place pissed the local council off to the n'th degree and when I wanted to put up a pergola they immediately said no as the house site was blacklisted due to total violations with multiple council regs. Despite me agruing the point the point that it is the former owner , not me who did the dirty work, they held firm. We don't have a pergola!

The retaining wall should be capable of being wrapped up in the same permit if it is aligned work, even if it means re-submitting the paperwork with it in the same package, or are they carving the wall out for special attention? They may seperate it because compliance of a civil/structural nature may be handled differently?

Regards rates, I feel your pain. Ours went up as well, and the council valuation is crazy on our property - like 600K more than what we could get if we sold it - I am going to challenge mine for sure on that basis as council costs just cannot be left to run up without control and expect the rate payer to pick up the bill

So talking with the draftsman this arvo, its going to be cheaper and easier if I do the wall and extension as one. So I'm gonna have to wait. Ah well. Time to focus my priorities on something else on the house. Coz there not a lot I need to do... Haha!

Anyone needing a building permit should find a private Building Surveyor and not deal with council building depts. Building Regulations in Victoria allow building permits to be issued by all Building Surveyors with relevant qualifications ("Building Surveyor - Limited" registration for low rise residential developments, "Building Surveyor - Unlimited" registration for large scale commercial/industrial developments).

You will normally get better service from the private guys (they're running a business so will work for paying clients, not public servants where there's no motivation to provide service). You'll have faster turnaround but you'll pay more for it too.

Of course there will be red tape, you're dealing in a highly regulated industry when it comes to building approvals. But you should get clear advice on what is required and times involved.

In Victoria, when a private Building Surveyor issues a building permit, they send a copy of the issued building permit and all approved design documents to council which they are obliged to keep in archives until that building is demolished. Other states work in similar yet slightly different manners.

Yellow Pages Building Surveyors in your area and give them a call. Give council a miss.

Different for town planning issues though. You can use private town planning consultants but only council can issue planning permits. A private Building Surveyor will check to see if any planning issues need to be dealt with before building permits can be issued.

Yeah we are using a private guy, but it has to go by the council first regardless. I have learnt today, even though we are on a battleaxe block, meaning the front of my house faces the back of someone elses, council requires a full town planning permit as its facing the front of the block. So it is what it is. Onwards and upwards.

I have learnt today, even though we are on a battleaxe block, meaning the front of my house faces the back of someone elses, council requires a full town planning permit as its facing the front of the block. So it is what it is. Onwards and upwards.

Yep if there's planning issues involved they need to be dealt with before building permits can be issued. Maybe speak with a planning consultant to work throoough it. Stick with the private building surveyor once you've got through planning. Shouldnt be any planning involved in your retaining wall works.

I do need permits and maybe planning for the wall, as its going to be nearly two metres high and some 20 odd metres long. But the draftsman will fill me in more soon. He's local to me and is familiar with the local laws here.

That retaining wall will definately need a building permit. Wall will need structural engineer design (not draftsman). There are no such things as local building laws any more. All building (including structural) design must meet National Construction Code. That means there are no council building codes to meet, except town planning that has nothing to do with structural design. Speak to a building surveyor for regulatory advice not a drafty as building surveyors oversee architect/drafty designs for compliance with National Construction Code requirements.

Yeah the draftsman did mention something like that to me today but it wall went over my head. He did say that this wall will need a tick of approval from council though because of how close it will be to the neighbors house, and the height. Surveyors need to come out for the extension and so they can look at where we want the wall to go at the same time. He wont be doing much, if anything for the wall, moreso the house but organising the required inspections for the wall to be done at the same time as the house. As if we did the wall first, then had to call out the surveyors again for the house, more issues may arise. Where as the council can't get their back up at us if they looked at everything at once. This is all new to me, most just sounds like a load of BS and a money grab but its the unnecessary evil I suppose i have to endure to achieve the outcome i want.

Yep you're confused and that's not your fault. Building regulations are very complicated.

First of all, council does not need to be involved (in Victoria) no matter how close your retaining wall is to the boundary. Private building surveyors will deal with the regulatory issues involved in this. That may include guiding you through issuance of Protection Works Notices to your immediate neighbours. Sounds like this will be needed. Bit complex but Building Surveyor will guide you.

Secondly, don't get mixed up between building surveyors and land surveyors. Building surveyors oversee compliance with building regulations, not actually survey building sites with a theodolite in the traditional surveying sense.

Thirdly, if you engage a private building surveyor the council will have nothing to do with the building inspections. The private building surveyor will do the inspections or subcontract the inspections to a registered private building inspector. No need for council footprints on your block.

Fourthly, the council can't get their back up just because they dont look at everything at once. They won't even be involved in inspections if you go through a private building surveyor. A building inspector (private or council) can only legally veto the particular aspect requiring approval at the time of their site visit. They may comment on issues not directly pertinent to that inspection but they can't fail an inspection on issues unrelated to that inspection.

Fiftly, there's no money grab when using private consultants (probably not even using councils but I've never worked public service). The building industry here is probably nearly as highly regulated as the airline industry. There is so many boxes to be ticked and so many hoops to be jumped, all in the name of end user safety. Never perfect but compare it to other countries where mass people get killed through building failures.

Feel free to PM me mate if you need more help.

Either its different where I live or the rules have changed since we bought our house as council knocked back a carport out the front that was originally approved by council 2 be built but then after building never got signed off on, so to them it was an unapproved carport, nothing was wrong with the carport and would of passed but while they were here inspecting the carport decided 2 go out the back and said we needed guttering on our carport that was out the back and a gutter off our tin shed and they would not sign off on the perfectly fine carport out the front until we fixed the gutter issues out the back..... that was 5+ years ago and I still have an unapproved carport out the front and no gutters on the things out the back

Yeah different thing. When they're dealing with un-signed-off (haha is that a word?) construction of course they're going to look around further. What I was referring to was inspections during construction.

Brother was working for a big corporation 20 years ago in IT ,$100k plus benefits car etc but he wasn't actually allowed to do anything because of outsourcing he just had to be there 8 hours a day and after about 6 months he threw it in .

My last job before I was injured and pensioned off was the only job I've ever had where it was a pleasure to go to work and yes I never felt like it was work . Weigh it up but big decision.

Thanks guys. Going in tomorrow to have a look around. It’s further to travel too for work. But all I can think of is how better off financially we would be. Base salary is 105k, plus car, phone ,plus bonuses! The guy I would be replacing, which is a person I worked with years ago, cashed in 140k last year. Fuck! Earning even semi close to six figures is in my wildest dreams.
But I do really enjoy where I work now, the bosses treat me like family, hell one even bought me a bottle of nice scotch just for the hell off it. All the pros to where I am now, then I think of the money at the other place and how much better of and how much quicker I can pay of the mortgage.
Big responsibility with the other job too. Having 14 staff to look after plus running the shop. Hard work but the rewards are there.
Man I am pissed off! I finally thought after all this time I have finally found the place I will work at until I retire. My mind set was sweet .Then this bloody happens.

Try these questions on yourself and see how it stands....They sound similar but are very different.

1. What WOULD happen if you DID make that change?

2. What WOULD happen if you DIDN'T make that change?

3. What WOULDN'T happen if you DID make that change?

4. What WOULDN'T happen if you DIDN'T make that change?

Farkin' oath. I know as dumb as it sounds, the $ should never be the primary driver... Larger salary usually comes attached with a larger tag of responsibility. More responsibility usually means, possibly longer hours, stupid rosters and availability, on-call 24/7, more weight on shoulders, etc...
Usually one or all those could equates to more stress and a possible worse off livelihood and mental state. General quality of life could change in a big way...

Tread carefully @mudski (http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/member.php?u=10010) . Do your homework mate. Especially since you mentioned you are happy and pumped for work where you are now.

Edit: I should mention, some people fit perfectly into larger shoes and step up no dramas and ace the new job and responsibility. Depends on persons mentality I guess. But others crumble...

Sent from my A1601 using TapatalkAfter being retrenched last year, I ended up taking a job with a much smaller company for about 15k less. Quite a substantial cut but needed to get back into the workforce rather quickly, and to be honest, I'm really glad I did. The work is great, I work 35 hours instead of 45+ (standard 38 hours + the unpaid overtime), I don't work any unpaid overtime anymore. They also pay for my fuel and lunch everyday. There's no longer the stress from work that I used to get (which considering I've not long come out of hospital fitted with a cardiac defribulator/pacemaker is a good thing). I'm no longer going home in a bad mood and I get to spend more time with the family. And I no longer have to deal with any bureaucratic bullshit from headoffice.

Yes extra money would be helpful, as I'm just about always skint, that will change in a year pr so, as mortgage is almost paid off..... But feck it.....

Rossco, its about containing the vehicle within the road corridor, and on separated carriageways keeping the vehicles from head on collisions. Nothing to do with road quality. The advert that Vicroad ran recently shows how effective they are, make a mess of the car but pull it up for sure. Someone has to survey the areas to determine where the risk of greatest carnage might take place, and then install a barrier to that location. Pretty hard thing to do. I have not been down Portland way for ages, but from memory could see how this campaign might end up blowing out for sure.

The roads were never designed to carry such heavy loads as you can see by the way the road base has subsided. Since the video was published a new method of repair has been employed, so it will be interesting to see if it lasts. It never should have got so bad in the first place. The tyre shops and mechanics are loving the extra business the roads have generated for them.

I have not been down Portland way for ages, but from memory could see how this campaign might end up blowing out for sure.Phil they are just pouring them up everywhere. Perfect example Calder freeway towards Bendigo. Never been a head on incident in its history. The middle strip is well wide enough to contain most. It's not needed up that way. I agree they are needed in some spots but on this particular stretch they have actually installed it that close to the road that when a recent accident closed a lane they had to close while highway as the emergency lane is gone and barriers are to close to let anything past

Matty, I hear you, and I am not the one rolling them out, nor the one deciding where they are going. I agree that some of the spots appear crazy, but maybe the govt has allocated funding by region and they are going in regardless to spend the money. What is funny though, is no sooner is one installed that someone runs into it and it needs repairs. I have seen this up Shepparton way, and going down the freeway to Warragul also. Based on what I see on the promo advert, they work well, certainly better than armco railing, so if they save one life, money well spent.

You are correct, however I arrived at the site of a motorbike accident in Moorabbin at a roundabout fitted with armco and the rider lost his head when he was flung off his bike and sliced thru the railing - body on one side, head and helmet on the other, horrible scene.

So I was building and dismantling a couple of shows yesterday, the one I was taking apart was the all energy show.

There were a lot of Chinese exhibitors there and at the end of the show they all picked up everything on their stand took it out to the dock and piled it up to be thrown out.

I just couldn't believe the waste, see photo below but I'm talking countless chairs and other furniture, brand new (used for 3 days) rolls of carpet, TONS of lighting and more...

I actually pulled out a solar panel from the rubbish to take home, it's a 2000x1000 400wh panel. Nothing wrong with it, Just going in the bin.

grab that panel mate... you don't need a converter.

any decent MPPT solar reg will take 60 to 75 VDC input and "convert" it to the system volatage IE 12 or 24 (in your case 12).

I like Victron but there are others... either of these would do (30 or 50) https://www.victronenergy.com/solar-charge-controllers/mppt-100-30

From ET's Australian Concise dictionary

ANGER (noun)

An emotion strong enough to tinge eyesight red, destroy all logical thought process and evoke a continuous stream of foul language closely followed by random acts of violence on inanimate objects (see TANTRUM).

Most commonly precipitated by Accessory Salespeople absolutely guaranteeing a product will fit your vehicle and, after waiting days for manuf of the 'special custom order' then spending several hours, enduring numerous physical injuries and even resorting to reading the instructions multiple times it becomes apparent you have more chance of shoving an Elephant up a Mouses Arse than getting said item to fit.

If the prick who sold me the dual battery tray is at work on Monday he better have a Tub Of Vas or a Gold Medicare Card 'cause I mightn't be able to get an Elephant up a Mouses backside but I reckon I can go close to shoving the Tray up his, all necessary brackets, nuts, bolts and clamp incl... he doesn't realise how lucky his arse is that I didn't buy the Battery he tried to upsell me as well !!!!

I only drive about 85 to 90 at night, even with a roo bar. A lot of people probably would have hit the truck too. Maintaining the reflectors on the side of rail wagons is a constant, tedious job, so having reflectors under a truck would drive you nuts. One trip on a dirt road would negate the reflector, or even a light.

If you found it in W.A. then memory loss is a good thing as all Meteorite in W.A. is owned by the Guv'ment.
Was the same in S.A. yoinks ago, dunno if it still is or what the law is in other States.
You can figure out the origin thru testing as every Meteorite has unique composition.

Chunks off certain ones can be very valuable apparently, not sure how you get ownership or prove provenance.

W.A. has Cameras that track Meteorites and get a rough idea where they impact then the 'hunt' is on... reward and the kudo's if you find it... $1,000 fine if you remove any of it (or any meteorite pieces anywhere in WA)

Wasn't sure if I found it on the Tanami track or the Plenty Highway but have narrowed it to the Plenty Highway and looking at some samples from Huckity (NT) I'd say someone picked it up there and dropped it or threw it away at Monrika Station ( Qld), at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it .
Can be sold but only locally ET as in Australia only , we did visit Henbury and Mick Taylor's place but I never picked up anything from either .

As for how do I know it's a meteorite 10G , I took it to a rock doctor but it's mainly metallic and very highly magnetic but hardly gives of a spark when I hit it with the angle grinder so appears to be mainly nickel but to be 100% sure I could get it tested but bugger that .

So we’ve been promised by NBN Co since I moved in that we will get connected. They give us a date, the date passes and we get given a new date. Rinse and repeat 4times over.
So they came out and dug 70 metres of trench and did their thing. Only thing is that their trench was barely 100mm in depth. Guess they’ll be coming back and doing it again.

Yep, 600mm from memory, minimum, conduit should be laid on a bed of sand,50mm, then covered in 100mm sand, laid over the top should be a plastic tape red/white stripe from memory to alert to cable below, then back filled with 26mm minus stone and then native earth. Its pretty vulnerable on the edge of the driveway, let alone at 100mm deep.. I am guessing they couldn't be stuffed checking for deeper services so went this shallow. I know a contractor who does trenching work for the NBN and he goes at least 600mm, and not for engineering reasons, more because he gets paid by the metre and hour, so its in his interest to go deep and slow!!

So reading the info, Mudski is responsible for the digging of the trench.

If your provider has advised that digging a trench is required to connect to the nbn™ access network, it's the premises owner's responsibility to organise a qualified person to dig a trench according to the specifications in the nbn™ Lead-in Trenching Requirements guide.

Did you organise the trench Mark or did the NBN contractor do it? I am unsure what the arrangement is.

Not sure thats correct PeeBee. I'm under the impression that NBNCo have the responsibility to prove cable to a point at the "house" where the box is going to go.
My neighbour got a similar visit and they asked him for permission to break some concrete if need be, in order to run the cable to the house from kerb. So they were doing the whole job.

I was there helping Mark fit his rear Patrol bar on, when the bloke from NBN showed up and said we're coming next week to dig the trench and whatever else has to be done to get you hooked up.

EDIT:
BUT.......... who knows. Mudski may get a bill for the job somewhere down the line. I would not be surprised one bit.

28th October 2018, 06:23 PM
The text above is clear Hodgey, if the process is followed, the house owner runs the trench from the boundary to the connection point where the cable enters the house itself. However, the NBN has probably hit the hurdle that owners either cant be stuffed doing it, paying for it or organising it, so the NBN contractor runs it anyway. This quote is a direct cut and paste of the doc you put up, which is a good one for sure.

Either way, its not to the required standard, so an interesting conversation tomorrow no doubt!

It is definitely contradicting to whats happened at Mark's place. But maybe they just wanted the job done and tick it off the list to close off the area.

NBN has to do the trench in most cases.
The owner has to do some/all trenching only if they are relocating or adding services.

But, either way that trench isn't Mudski's issue... if outside the boundary

Quote
You must not dig the trench outside the boundary of your premises, e.g. in a public footway, roadway or in neighbouring premises. Trenching outside your premises is subject to land access code requirements and is nbn's responsibility.

No way that conduit is to code , sec is 600mm min ,all else from memory is between the 600 -400 and that conduit is shonky as and makes me wonder how many homes this contractor has done .

Min depth is 300 on private property (agree that elec is different but I'm a comms guy not a sparktrician so not 100%)... 450 if going under paths/driveways.

Different again if direct buried or shared trench with other comms and again if shared with elec.

IIRC Mudski mates trench looks like on originally private shared long driveway dual occupancy split. First real thought career for me was trenching, grundomat below before open cut always preferred for SEC, GasnFuel and Cable Tele. Back then houses/units at the rear IIRC were at own paid run unlike the front joint?

NBN has to do the trench in most cases.
The owner has to do some/all trenching only if they are relocating or adding services.

But, either way that trench isn't Mudski's issue... if outside the boundary

Little bit off track, years back, services to rear blocks in Vic as best can remember: 600 power/450 water/ 300 telcoms and legal spreads can’t remember. Poor bugger concrete cutting demo saw bloke removing a granny flat pathway blew his hands (red-black bars) clean off the Stihl from some 10 year ago lazy arse sparky at 100mm. Conduit imprints were still within the slab when we all removed it :-(

Yeah saw this first hand when up on Groote Eylandte with BHP, some clown buried the fibre optic cables 150mm deep, and years later the local landscapers came thru, no dial before you dig up there, and ripped them up when digging holes for new garden beds! Put comms down for 2 weeks as they had to find a tech willing to go there, plus they had to tear up a long length and bury it a lot deeper. It was simply buried without a conduit - bare cable! Funny thing was its termite country and they love PVC cables to munch on, so I guess the mine dodged a bullet by finding the problem before having a colony slowly munch their way the the cable outer in multiple locations.

Yes it is on my property and down the side of my driveway Phil. If I was informed that I had to dig the trench, which I wasn't, I would have. I even offered NBN co in one of my rants to them on their FB page to dig the trench. On more than one occasion I was told my the contractors that they were to dig the trench.
If I have to dig the trench then so be it. I will hire a trencher and do the job right.

Yeah, we used to Grundo anything up to single driveways (if no other services) and Directional Bore everything else.

Bloody Grundomat shot can have a mind of their own where they deflect off too at times tho... 9 out of 10 times it is where they can cause the most damage :-)

I've only within the last month had to start looking into NBN (national bastards network) options as our ADSL contract is ending. We can only get fixed wireless.

When we moved into the house 17 years ago, we could only get dial up. Then after 6 years of that we could get a private wireless connection from the forerunner company of Aussie Broadband. Then after a few years of that we could finally get ADSL with download speeds up to 20 Mb, so I reckon we've had ADSL 2+ speeds for 5 years.

Now we can only get fixed wireless which I've read can drop down to 2Mb/s once the kids get home from school, so from around 4pm - 10pm.

So we've (us, my town) gone from shit to good and back to shit again. This NBN is supposed to be the ducks guts, but it's not as good as what we currently have.

The big thing initially about the NBN was it was supposed to give people outside the metropolitan area internet access comparable to what city folk have.

Looking at it simply, ignoring the politics and the funding etc, what's actually happened is they've removed / are removing infrastructure (ADSL2+) that has finally made it out to the bush that gives us access that is more than adequate and are replacing it with infrastructure that gives us speeds like we had 10-15 years ago.

I really think that someone with money should seriously look at setting up their own network in competition to the NBN I cannot see this NBN thing being able to evolve sufficiently as money will not be available for it to scale up as much as what I reckon it will need to in the future, this country is just too bloody big.

Cracked the cast block on my TEA 20 several yrs ago with sub zero temps as we get up our way Kris. Warning to anyone buying a Hema navigator "think twice".
Mine cost $800 and shit itself just before one year ,got it fixed under warranty and now the same problem after two and a half years .
Now not under warranty but the same problem will cost me about $200 plus and a new unit these days is about $400.

Guy I bumped into on our last trip had the exact same trouble as mine but he was some sort of an electronic engineer and when his shit itself the second time he worked out the problem was the power cord connection at the unit which he replaced and replaced the cord to one that the cord was at right angles to the unit instead of sticking straight out .

Never again will I buy Hema or VMS .

Luckily the car stereo that the daughter bought from Aldi has GPS and touch screen and just happens to work with the SD card out of the Hema so I'll replace the stereo in the GQ with it and as a bonus one less cord to worry about .

I have a HEMA 5 and agree the weak point is the cable due to its orientation. I had trouble keeping it connected for charging, so simply bought another cable as the original got loose, then made sure when I located it, there was adequate room for the cable to flex - problem solved for me. Apart from the screen size being smallish, my unit works well.

Never had a Hema or VMS type device, I have an old iPad with the GPS built in, it works very well.

But a great cheap navigation tool I came across is an app called Avenza Maps. The App is free for Android & iPhone. You can get free Geosurvey Australia (or whatever they're called) maps for it and then you have a free navigation tool. You can also buy most maps from their store to use with it as well. I've bought a Hema and a Westprint for it. It works very well.

As a price example, I used it when I recently crossed the Simpson, I used Hema's Simpson Desert 500K map. All up I had a navigation tool that cost $11.95.

Very hard to go past if you'd like a GPS navigation aid and you don't have much $$$$ to spend on one. If I were starting out and had no GPS navy stuff, I'd get a cheapish Android tablet with GPS capabilities, throw that app on it and away you go.

Yeah that's what I should have done ,the navigators from Hema and VMS work well when and if their working .
Started on the stereo install but hit my third snag ,new unit doesn't allow for six speakers and the old one only has five sets of wires for six speakers so some surgery required to find out what's going on .
Little bit worried about the retractable screen and hope I've allowed enough for it to slide out and flip up without hitting the stubbie lever and the dash above it .
Must take some photos

Spent the last few day doing stuff the the shitter, So I had the the top mount IC off, I needed to replace the drain hose on the catch can, so I removed it, replaced it, and refitted it. Got the new radiator in, new fan belts on, got sunburnt etc etc. Bled the cooling system and thought I was done. Then I saw a small hose clamp on the bull bar. I then realised it was the hose clamp for the catch can hose barb on the rocker cover. So I need to removed the CC top mount cooler, just to get this bloody hose clamp on.

Not much you think, but when you've been at it for the better part of three days and you think you have finished....Blah! Time for another whiskey!
