Were the envelopes damaged at all when you received them?
AusPost staff would not know what was in them, they wouldn't have stolen anything.
No point accusing people and going nuts at them John, they are just going to get defensive and they won't want to help you out.

Yes I go through this kinda stuff weekly. I posted an item to someone with registered post. So it has tracking. He claimed they never got the parcel, even though the tracking states they did and he wanted a refund. Obviously I can't because AP's tracknig says it was delivered, and I don't know if the guy is just lying to me just to get a refund or not.
So I did what I could, rang AP, and lodged a missing item thingo', on the buyers behalf as per AP rules if the item is marked delivered is up to the buyer to chase it up. If its missing during transit, its up to the seller....The buyer got his back up and insisted it was my issue and I need to deal with it after I refund him. Well, prior to him saying this I was just going to refund out of good gesture as the item value was under $50. I'd rather keep the customer happy and be a little out of pocket, so they would come back to buy more. But after his rant and then he raises a claim with eBay and leaves me a neg feedback I though stuff him! I have done more than I need to, I was on the phone with AP on numerous occasions on the buyer behalf. NO REFUND FOR YOU!
Anyhow, his neg was removed and his claim thrown out by eBay.

So from a sellers point of view, try to keep calm, sometimes its hard I know, and don't point fingers straight away and start waving your arms in a rant. It only makes things harder for yourself and everyone involved.

Further to yesterdays scenario I went back to see the manager,
he told me to my face that the seller has sent me an empty envelope,,,, twice
I told him he was full of it and there will be more to come, what a wanker

Unfortunately there have been a lot of Aust Post workers caught out stealing items from the post and I am sure a lot more do not get caught.

What rating dous the eBayer have? Have you read his negative feedback to see if there are similar complaints?

6500 sales 99.7 rating it was a brass hose kit nozzle,, a tap adaptor and two joiners.
Easy to figure out what they are,, by weight and feel.
@ Winnie they were stolen it cant happen twice once I would say maybe but not twice.
We think it must have been at the Dandenong sorting centre, they empty the satchel/papped envelope
and send it to the St Albans sorting centre where they find an empty ripped padded bag repair it.
stamp it as repaired then deliver it.
You should of seen the sh#t they were stealing from aircraft before they put in cameras.
The seller is sorting it out as basically they are calling them liars, not a word anyone wants to be called

Yer no you don't mate.
I have considered selling off my stock and de registering and just keeping it under the 75k p/a. Only because I'm just over by about 10k and after all the hassles of paying an accountant, GST and everything else its not worth it, I actually pocket less now than before. So I am waiting until next year when my other business contract is over, in Feb, so I can shit that down for good, then I will either go gang busters and make this heaps bigger, so its worth the effort, or slow it down. I have a few local 4x4 suppliers who want me to sell their gear, which is good, I have a few others who buy in bulk from me, which is good, but right now I have no time and especially no room to store any more stuff.
So hopefully next year sometime I will have our house finished ready to sell then we can move to somewhere, to where i have room, or I go rent a factory. Which is expensive.

So put it this way. Only speaking from my experience. You either stay under the limit, or make it big and go way over the limit to make it worth the effort.

I'm not sure. I'll have to check. Those are just the rear fenders and wells. The front fenders are solid so I would doubt the radiator support panel is bad, but you never know. At least I've found a good body shop where they'll weld in new metal and do it right.

Worlds farked..... Yeah.

Had that accident in Taylor's lakes near water gardens over the weekend.

Stolen black Audi, three 17 year olds run a red light and killed an innocent 25 year old sitting in his car.

Assholes were fleeing. What makes it worse is that the cops know that there part of a group and its all going through the children's court.

Wrong wrong wrong.

Plus replacing the axle seal again today, only to find out the knuckle seal is fubar, so i ordered one from the local 4by shop, get Hodge to pick it up and they gave him one from god knows what but a Patrol. So down to the bearing service to get the right one.

I'm kind of in a similar boat. Few things ordered for the car left NSW on the 18th of this month according to tracking and are still listed as "Received by Australia Post" at the original post point. I lodged a claim/inquiry about it with auspost, and all they could tell me is "Oh it shows us that it's been submitted at such and such on the 18th."
Like no s#it ??? I can see that my self on the tracking page. And supposedly nothing more they could do.
As of this morning, the sender or auspost have no clue where the package is. It's also registered and sender did pay insurance but it's very frustrating ...

One of my side businesses is the Wholesale Bulk Supply of pre-torn post bags and envelopes.
My customers use them when they get caught out with under bids or are out of stock as the enquiry times from the purchaser over the non-receipt gives them a week or two to catch up or say they are now Sold Out.
They can blame Australia Post or the Courier and keep their 100% Ebay ratings
All they have to do is grab one of my bags, wack a label on it and send it out,
I even supply one eversion with dummy invoices stuck on them for extra realism.

80% of my customers are in the Auto Parts Industry and business is BOOMING !!!

Funnily enough, if it wasn't for BA's contribution, assistance, giving freely of his time, organising meetups, giving people free parts etc etc etc etc etc etc since he joined up here(and to others before then), there'd be a lot of people poorer off as a result, he owes f&^k all to anyone, least of all HIS TD.

Good for you, but I didn't move into a bush fire prone area backing onto bush land just so I could listen 2 airplanes 24/7, If I wanted that I would of moved closer 2 the city.

I don't see the need for another airport in Sydney, what they need is high speed trains and better roads linking the ones we have, what we are going to get is another airport with the same old crap public transport and still the same old crappy roads.

Ahhhh, Aircraft dunnies and the the stories I could tell...

This one time in Band Camp... err... I mean Darwin
The new bloke was always given the job of driving Shit Truck to service the aircraft dunnies
Simple job really, start the shit truck, ensure the waste tank is empty and Rakasan tanks full, drive up, park under outlet and chock wheels, climb up on the service platform, attach hoses to big silver bird, empty waste and replenish flushing tanks, disconnect and bugger off..

The RAAF truck was a Qantas hand me down from about 1930 something.
It had two things that you usually noticed right away, one was the bullet holes from the Jap air attacks in 1942.
The other was that, 40 years later, how worn the clamps and hose adapters were.
Soooo most people would double check hoses, triple check hoses, get someone else to double check hoses, mumble obscenities, close eyes, hunch shoulders, deeeeeep breath, pull lever.... well, someone has got too and the old hands and us NCO's sure weren't going to do it.

Anyway, one particular night the new guy only noticed the bullet holes...

And that, my friends is how we found out that as far as Ag and Customs is concerned someone being covered in about 400 litres of imported sewage (aside from being gut bustingly hilarious) breaches about 27 commonwealth and state laws.

I swear to this day that even after the flow stopped he was still standing there on the platform with his hand on the lever wondering WTF just happened...
All the paperwork was worth it tho and we scored a new truck about 3 months later... damn that was funny

I bet it did, mate.

C130 Hercules dunnies were a design acheivement that preceded the Apollo missions.
They were the old school bucket and pan type
They were stowed down the back above the ramp on a 67.428 degree sliding rail arrangement with bungee cord or springs to aid in lowering.
When you needed to use one you faced the shitter at about chest height, pulled the pin and allowed it to slide down and forward to the 'in use' position
Flip down the feet support, stand on the support, undo the catches, lift the lid, about face, drop trou, wave to all the other passengers and let nature take it's course.
Stowage was the opposite

Now, the mongrel who designed those suckers was a deadset genius.
He had worked out, and this was using a slide rule and a pencil back in the 50's remember, the exact angle and distance of his gravity powered rail launcher so that if they bungee broke the dunny fell and hit the end stop at exactly the right force to impart sufficient inertia to the contents (20 litres of Rakasan plus all previous visits) so that it could do 3 orbits of the can to reach escape velocity and hit the lid with sufficient force to burst the catches.

Now it didn't end there, this rocket scientist was obviously a study of human psychology.
He knew that most people who dropped something had a primal instinct to try and catch it before it damaged anything.
Einsteins cousin, obviously a black belt in Kepler mathematics had factored in the ballistics and calculated the apogee to approx 5 decimal places and the conservation of momentum was such that the mass of shit would raise the lid to the precise angle such to direct it full force onto the abdomen of the user who was bending forward to try and stop the fall.

How old is the car? If it has Toyota Setvice history you should argue that there should have been automatic updates during the 5 year warranty period and ask for the last update during the warranty for free.

Don't necessarily agree... but... that is exactly why some fire trails close to Perth got closed to reccy 4WD use a couple of seasons back.

Dudes with 35's would cut the trails up during winter and the Firey Light Tankers/Strikers etc couldn't use them during summer in an emergency.
As Summer progressed people with 31's or 33's would then belt shit out of the bush making more tracks around the major rutted areas.

Drunk kids speedin around the bush with no idea where they're going or anything...

Was heading towards last campsite around 4pm this arvo when we drove up to a hilux bring driven by a 18yo kid that was smashed off his face and his buddy that was even worse, although apparently they'd only had 6-8 beers...somehow on a straight flat section of track they'd managed to drive straight into a tree and smash their heads into the windscreen (no seat belts of course...) car was a write-off , chassis was bent cracked and was hardly drivesble.

The boys were extremely lucky that we turned up only 3 mins after the crash, they were I the middle of the bush, no maps, no gps, no winch / recovery gear... Nothing! Only thing they had was an esky for beer. It's shoit like that, that turns ugly very quickly!

It was starting to rain heavily, both boys had a concussion and bleeding from head wounds, so we changed the rest of our days plans and drove them a couple hours back in briagalong where they got picked up....They could of been the next statistic of kids getting lost in the bush - it happens so easy when your inexperienced and drink driving in the bush. It was just me and AB going back to camp, trying to avoid dargo
Got up over one of the hills and a guy in a ute lost it and dropped it into a tree. The same three copper's sitting there.
AB just needs to go to Vic roads with smaller tyres within 10 days.
I got the the sticker because the cop reckons that they are not speed and load rated tyres. I wasn't going to complain as he didn't give us the $400 fine that normally goes with it. They give me 2 hours to get off unsealed roads. I was leaving tonight anyway.

They were drunk, most likely had concussion, no idea where they were and just no freakin clue what so ever! They would have just been wandering around the bush aimlessly and most likely gone into shock

Taking your car to the workshop, leaving it there all day, picking it up, paying for some work (albeit not a huge amount), and the problem has not been fixed, I cannot state in forum friendly language how annoying it is... I am really OCD about stuff being 100% with my vehicle, and it is not 100% right now.

This is not cool, years ago I have sold a few vehicles when I couldn't get an issue sorted out, and I do not under any circumstances want to sell my truck. I do however want the problem sorted. I was ok waiting for a time for it to be booked in and sorted, but now that the date has been and gone and the problem isn't fixed I am not in a mood for the waiting game!

Sorry, I know others have bigger problems, but this thread is about what has made us angry, and for me today, that's it 😡

What's the issue?

Patrol'n

What's the issue?

Gday Rod, my truck has started making a growling / rattling type of noise when 4 high is selected, starts at about 40 ks and gets worse with more speed, I've got a thread called new noise in 4wd about it. Started after a day on the tracks last weekend, I can't figure out what it is and I'm not keen to just start replacing bits in the hope of finding it, I find that way gets expensive...

Was this the reli mechanic??
Have a look behind the brake disc to see if he has dug deeper or stopped at the wheel bearings.
And did he check both sides??

Yep, been taking my cars to him for a long time, as have all the family. He looked at both sides, although not sure about looking past the bearings, I'm going to chat to him this morning about it and see what we can work out, he's a good mechanic so I'm sure we'll get it sorted, just that we've got more trips planned shortly and I don't want an offroad repair that could have been done in a workshop or in my driveway. (I have a recurring moment of paranoia where I think about being stuck below a high tide line and losing drive).... Don't want to try and make my patrol a submarine!

BigRAWesty
6th November 2015, 09:16 AM
Ok so something you can do is remove the front drive shaft and go for a drive.. lock hubs in and leave in 2wd. If noise still there it's diff related.
If no noise flick to open diffs and engage 4H. If noise starts it's transfer gear box related..
If the noise dissappear completely it's the uni joints on the drive shaft..

I asked after 10 years for another mattress, but they say its too old and should be changed every 7 years
no one told me that.
I only need a mattress as I have a great looking bed.
ATM its a KingKoil and very firm which I needed after the first op
I dont need that now,

The Tempur Base is amazing too and you could maybe incorporate it into your existing bed. The Tempur Mattress is sec one to none and is the leader in Memory Foam technologies. Since i bought mine there is now 3 different mattresses but i have the original and its as good today as it was when i bought it 10 years ago. You are fully supported in the optimum position and no point load weight. I rate it very highly.

Couriers......
Ordered my headlight last week, with a delivery day of Monday.
Thought I veg on the couch near the front door after work on Monday morning, so I would hear the driver pull up. Instead I hear my phone beep.
Got a email that says.

Dear Valued Customer,

An attempt was made to delivery consignment CPAxxxxxxxxxxx to your premises, we left card 191xxxxxxxxfor you to book your redelivery.

That was at 9.45 am. The email was sent at 9.15 am.
My wife leaves around 9.30 am and she told me as she was leaving that the light hasn't arrived yet.

So I rebook another delivery at 9.50am as a next available route. Another email confirmation stating that it will be delivered on the 10/11 before 6pm with this important bit highlighted.

IMPORTANT :*You have provided an Authority To Leave on the next available route past your address, the deliver time is noted above, please be aware the parcel may be delivered earlier.*You can track progress via the tracking number above.

Still nothing and probably won't have enough time to fit it and get to Vic roads today....

Having to fork out just under 2300K for a laptop for my daughter when she goes into year 7 next year. :furious: What makes it worse is the school have got you by the goolies with this too. If you buy it through the school, if anything goes wrong with it, their own IT dept will look at it and give the student a loan laptop. If you BYO, they still will but its not priority so its gets put to the back of the line, and your kid will only get a load laptop if they can spare one. So the one we bought is a measly $500 dearer through the school rather than going to Harvey Normal or the like. FFS!
