I know you'll be trying for everything but maybe you might have to go backwards to go forwards I hate to say. I ve stacked pine in a factory for a year just to pay the bills.

I was unemployed for about 6 months some years back.
I am a radio technician by trade but picked up any work I could find to pay the bills, I was working at a servo for 3 days a week and at a swimming centre for two nights.
Ended up getting back into my trade but the other jobs payed the bills for a while.
I think it is probably harder to pick up work outside your trade these days but cant hurt to try.
Good luck with finding something.

It might be bloody obvious to some....... but I wish the Patrol manual made it clear that when you remove a front wheel hub to repack the inner bearing that you have to remove the seal & thus replace it! I now have a 3 wheeled Patrol sitting & waiting for some new seals to arrive from Patrolapart. Grrrrr.
And the seal was torn, with it's spring having partially escaped, so I can't just put it back together for the time being. Bugger! All part of the learning curve, better than finding out by the side of a track somewhere I guess.

That sucks mate.
. Time to start eating meat again?
Yeah it does suck, but probably caused by steroid medication I'm on, rather than absence of red meat in our diet. Probably the steroids that cause the high cholesterol as well. What really pisses me off is that over the 18 months I've been on these bloody steroids, I've kept asking the medicos if they are safe, & they've kept telling me that the dosage I'm on is too low to cause problems! Right! And there is now no guarantee that the osteoporosis can be turned around despite me now being put on a 'weaning off the steroids' regime. Thanks experts!

Wouldn't think any long term medication would be good for you.
Unfortunately its a way of life now for some myself included.
I never took tablets until I was injured, good thing I don't have to pay

Mmmm King Island double Brie, yum.
Went there once for work, around 1990, flew in from Moorabbin.
Was there for a day with 3 colleagues.
A good visit. Came home with the gift of a large dustbin liner full of crays plus several large cheeses.
I recall that pulling in kelp off the beaches was a major industry, exported to Scotland once dried & ground up.

G'day lounge lizards,
What a farking day i had yesterday! Taxi picked me up to take me to hospital for my 6 weekly infliximab infusion.
Because i have this shite-full Crohn's disease, i have to undergo regular treatment with infliximab which reduces the movement of inflammatory cells into the inflamed areas of my intestines. It is supposed to encourage the abscess and holes in my bowel area to heal. effectively It works by suppressing part of the immune system and allows the various antibiotics than i am on the help control the process of inflammation. Unfortunately, i after 18 months treatment the farkenabscess and holes, (the pricks of things have failed to abide by the scrip and heal!)
Anyhow, i arrived at the hospital to find out that the specialist nurse that conducts the infusions is on holidays and that the hospital had appointed another nurse to conduct the various infusions for the five patients that were attendance. I knew this was not going to be a good day as i am an extremely difficult patient to administer an intravenous cannula into my veins. Sure enough as shit sticks to a blanket i knew this nurse was going to have a problem. Thirty minutes later after three failed attempts on me and two failed attempts on another patient and with blood pissing out of both my hand and forearm, the poor nurse now embarrassed decides it is time to call in the Cavalry.
Twenty minutes passes by and finally a doctor arrives to assist. Things are starting to look good the doctor gets two cannula's in the first two patients and then its my turn. Well fark me swinging trendsetters, after another three failed attempts i am starting to resemble a farking dart board. lol The doctor now panics and decides that i have skin like a rhinoceros and calls in the director of nursing to find out who is the best person in the hospital to give intravenous cannula's to difficult patients.
Another forty minutes go by and finally they head hunt an anesthetist. This bloke was about 6/4 two pick handles wide across the shoulders and his face looked like a kicked in shit tin! (I am thinking to myself they brought this monster in to belt the snot out of me) It turns out Shane was an ex-South-African rugby player whilst he was studying medicine. Folks if you were going into hospital for an operation and saw this guy administering you general anesthetic, fark you would be praying and hoping that when you wake up after your operation that all your limbs are still attached in the right areas. lol
After five minutes and two attempts Steve finally gets the cannula needle in. I arrived at hospital at 8.30am they finally get me hooked up at 11.00am and four and half hours later the infusion was completed. Taxi arrives to take me home arrive at home 16.10 hrs with 8 holes in both arms. lol
PS that's what made me angry today. lol
Regards,
RLI

Hear Hear Jonathan, that really pisses me off. I've got some disabled family and they don't always use the disabled bays if there is other parking close by - as they say there is always someone worse off than they are.
I've been threatened when asking a young guy to hang his permit on the dash in case people thought he was just using it as a 'convenient' park. For some reason people also don't like you taking a picture of their car, if it's got a company logo I send it on to them congratulating them for hiring disabled people and recommending they contact the local newspaper for a feature story.
BigRAWesty

Yes it amazing how defensive people get when confronted about their parking.. I try and gather some attention and embarrass them..
After that its all 'ow I didn't see the sign, I'm in a hurry' etc etc...
One bloke got really defense and started threatening me. I stepped up to him and whispered to him that if he lays a hand on me ill give him a pretty good reason to park there... Lol.. Ow to be a teenager again.. lol

I am angry at my self because I went fishing last night and when I was going out from the boat ramp the boat motor was sounding awful clunk clunk clunk click click click. So I stopped lifted the motor everything seemed ok, prop wasn't loose. So I took off again and seemed ok , still sorta there but no where near as much. Fished for a hour for 5 small flatties 30-35 cm. I thought I would finish early just in case theories was f!cked and I still had time to call a mate to tow me in if needed.
Came in wasn't any worse but when I finally got the boat on the trailer and out if the water, I seem the culprit.
I left the bloody ear muff on that flush fresh water through the motor on and was banging against the back of the prop. Slight damaged the back of the prop. Will see next time I'm out if it causes any problems.

I'm normally in a Hi-lux ute at work, but on the odd occasion, we have to use a sedan. For me, it's sooooo much easier getting in and out of a 4wd than a sedan - and I'm not disabled.
After getting in and out of a sedan all day, my back feels broken, but a 4wd..... piece of cake.
Stick it up em TD - you don't have to justify yourself to anyone, when you display your permit!!!
If they want to spend hours writing a complaint that's gunna go nowhere, let it be. hahahahahaha
I wonder what people would say if a Hummer was parked in a disabled bay with a current, valid ACROD sticker? (With absolutely no disrespect to people that do).

Wouldn't that get gums flapping, camera's clicking and keyboards pounding?
Rossco
I've seen a motor bike with a disabled permit on it. I didnt judge their reason to be parked there but I did wonder what would make it hard to walk an extra 50 metres but still be ok on a bike lol. But it doesn't matter as much in my town because theres always ample parking spaces.

Certain criteria needs to be met on a questionarie, ppl with heart conditions, post op, etc
you can also be given a x2 permit ,which doubles any time parked.
Anyway what made me angry today was after dropping off some items to be powder coated I dropped
in and brought my morning egg and bacon sandwich, driving along having a bite the yolk
broke and I copped the full yolk down my front. Not a good look lol

Yep. I had a nasty one on my bike when I got T-boned by an impatient driver on Christmas Eve about 10 years ago. Bloody lucky to still be here. Bike sat in the garage hardly ridden for ages but I couldn't bring myself to sell it for years. Eventually sold it and bought a Patrol!

Never going to sell on ebay again.
After reaping the benefits of ebay as a buyer for years, I decided to use it to sell some popular items. Since I last used ebay: The fees levied have gone up for both paypal and ebay. Between all the items I sold (The potential to make money on the items ie what I paid vs what I was able to auction them for, was there, but I didn't) the fees levied make up approximately 20% of all the bids added together.
Paypal takes a couple of % across the winning bid AND postage
ebay takes a percentage of the winning bid price.
So just say you had bought a patrol steel rim on ebay for $75 + 25 postage. It arrived at your house, and you immediately put it back on ebay.
You take photos, do a description. Answer questions. Promise people you can post it ASAP, explain why the $25 you have put on is adequate. Some stupid person bids it to $74. You have listed postage as $25.
Out of the $99 total paid by the winning bidder: You might get left with $85 with which to pay postage and make your 'profit' or money back' You then drive to the post office, buy any packaging, and stand in line to post the item.
Ebay does all right out of this effort you put in. And I'm still waiting for the stupid feedback from people that didn't take the time to read the painstaking descriptions and photos I wrote.
Never again.

Make a mental note to yourself. Never sell anything large like a steel rim and offer postage. You just shot yourself in the foot doing that. Large items with low profit margins that require postage, expensive postage at that, is a no no. Never offer postage for something like that.
Yes Ebay and PP fee have gone up, Auspost fee have gone up too and they have taken away some things too. To work for them, not the customer of course. Their insurance value has now dropped to $50 from $100. You want more than $50 cover, you pay extra for that. They lost two items I sent to a customer, both it separate satchels, the first they didn't pay up on, and the second I only got $59.95 off them, $50 for the item and the $9.95 for the post. And each item was worth $98.
P4trol
7th July 2013, 09:20 AM
Sorry, the rim was a bad example. It wasn't rims I was selling. They were lighter more expensive items. The postage was covered by what I charged, despite the messages received saying "I work for Australia post, and a prepaid bag is only $6". I did charge $25 postage, but buggered if I would let some precision items bang around in a plastic bag and maybe not arrive or not work. Packed well and posted with a signature. Gave one bloke a 5c refund for the unused postage amount.
Then there's the the ones that bid it up, then send a message "sorry I no pay".
Is posting here supposed to make me feel better or have the issue go away?
