Got the shits because I spend more time fixing my Patrol than driving it. Seems every time I drive it I have to park it up for 3 or 4 months.
Hopefully I am just about done with this bad luck I've had for the last 12 months or so and can get out and enjoy the bloody thing more often!

That toilet is still there too.
My property sits on a long thin ridge and down the back is pretty flat with views.
When money permits I want to build a big lean to shed with bunks down there and a huge earth oven with a slide in system so we can literally slide in whole pigs.
It's steep each side of the ridge down there so a little 20t excavator and bring in some boulders for a couple of tracks around the new church with a beefed up forum GQ dedicated machine of fun.
It's on the wish list old mate but how awesome would that be. Away from the house and there's no neighbours down that way too!

When you get recommended by someone that this place is a good mechanic and has excellent service.
I now call bull sh@t
Oil over filled
2 x wheel nuts stripped and a stud stripped
Wheel nuts that had to be heaved on with a 2 foot steel bar to undo and on alloy rims, lucky no damage.
Get there to pay the bill and was charged for items that never should have been replaced and then given an excuse to why they're were replaced and not even a phone call to say hay do you want this done.
Service book not filled in when they said it would be and stamped
Then they have the cheek to but their company sticker on the read window.
Rant over, I have never posted a rant on line before so I am unhappy.

I bought some things from one of the vendors here a couple of months back and finally got around to fitting them in. Once I had the old one out I noticed that the new ones were different and weren't going to fit. Needing my car back on the road I got a lift to the local parts shop and got the correct one.
I informed the vendor that the part that they sent were incorrect. The difference is $37 between theirs $19 and the shops 56. The vendor has refunded $19 back to me.
Apologies for the way it's written. I don't want to name the vendor.
Should I be happy with the refund or should I be asking for the additional $37?
I even sent them a copy of the shop receipt.
Edit.
It's more the fact that it was a inconvenience and they took their time.

Talking bout online purchases, bought a cable a while ago for the camera to hook up to the tablet. Hadn't arrived for a while then got a package arrive at work on Friday and thought this is it. Was a bit funny, wasn't packaged very well was all kind of half open, anyway pulled out this thing didn't quite recognize and is a breast pump adapter thingy! ! WTF??? Anyway it said cables on the package so somethings gone a bit wrong somewhere. EBay epic fail LOL!
Not really angry, a bit annoying but mostly hilarious especially opening it at work. . . Think I'll get one strait from the cable place and see if i can get a refund unless anyone's after a breast pump adapter thing. . .

Another disadvantage about daylight savings time is that my eastern states telephone provider takes it upon themselves
to send automated text messages at 7am EDST.
Unfortunately, it's only 4am in the west. Once I'm awake, that's it, I have to get up.
I know, I know. Either suck it up, or turn our phones off before we go to bed!

Stuff that. I would be like a bear with a sore head if anything work-related did that for no sane reason. If you can't set your phone up as 10G suggested then may I introduce you to a solution as well. Simply tie your phone to it and toss it into the nearest waterway.

I'm normally in bed by 9pm at the latest, and to be woken up at 4am, it's like I've had my 7hrs night time sleep and it's time to get up. I might ring them up and ask them what's the go.

Yep, 4 - 4:30 am is the worst time to wake up, unless I'm camping and sleeping under the stars. Then i usually take a good old look up and see what's going on in the sky and try and wake up an hour later to see the sun rise.
But when at home during a work week it's really crap.

If a repeat caller/text comes through within a set time you have the option to allow it to go through or not.

As for me. This fecking rain is forcing a decision on us to pull our house off the market. We had to call a plumber over today, the ground in thw back yard is now that water logged any way that hits the dirt just pools and i had to spend 2 hours in the rain with a yard broom sweeping water away to stop it from going under the house and into the garage. So the plumber will be digging up our lawn and installing some more drainage during the week.
In the 12 years ive lived here i have never seen and experienced so much water like this here.

I bet it's not just the rain mate. I have good reasons to believe these water logging in the area has lot to do with excessive housing developments in the area without improving the rain water drainage system. Water get trapped in residential areas and flood the houses. My GFs property flooded and caused thousands of dollars of damage all thanx to the quick housing developments in the area(very close to your area). They built so many houses, but didn't do enough work to make sure the water doesn't get trapped between properties.
The area they built the houses in Mernda, South Morang, Mill Park, etc is the area that the river went through not too long ago before it dried up. But, the valley area still acts as a river when we get lot of rain there. They basically built so many houses on the valley. No wonder so many people end up with flooded properties in the lower part of the valley. Fun part is that the insurance did not cover the damage. I had to do all the backbreaking work of fixing the damage.(well.. I didn't have to, but chose to. :) )
The Whittlesea council suppose to get the developer to improve Yan Yean road((I guess), but it's still the old one lane road that turns into an absolute car park during the busy hours. Plenty road was done up to Mernda intersection, but that's about it.
I think biker numbers are growing in the area, for a very good reason. :D

Thought you were still getting your place ready to go on the market. If it's not listed yet maybe hold off till the warmer weather comes (it's bound to get here soon) let it dry out.
If you do get a plumber to dig up your lawn keep in mind that you don't really know what's going on till it's all exposed, could be opening a whole new can of worms and then you need to make it all pretty again.
Either way you still need to wait.
A mate has a similar problem. His neighbours storm water runs out to the back fence, when we have a lot of rain both backyards flood.

Hows the form of some people.
The guy that brought our place asked if we would allow him to get started on laying timber flooring a week before settlement, we said no.
Yesterday my wife finds a note on the front door with a number and "please call me" we are in the middle of offloading things so she thought that it was related to that..
No..
The new owner now wants to know if we will give up our garage do he can store the timber.
No farking way.
Firstly, we are liable if something happens as we still own the property.
Secondly, we requested a 6-8 week settlement. We got a 4 months. Agent told us that that was when his property was going to settle, he tells my wife that they have been overseas.
I'll be speaking to the agent on Monday......

Yeah fark him. A settle date is a settle date. It is still yours until then and he can just wait patiently to do what ever he wants with it. Or if you have a dodgy cousin ,say yes and get him to offload a bunch of timber flooring cheap.... mwahahaha.
My parents sold their house recently and then post settle date rented it on a month by month as the new owner didn't want to move in straight away. But it was all organised / arranged prior to signing contracts. No dodgy ring up or leave notes.

Another tack... rent him the shed, if you can empty it, at market price plus a premium.
To be used to store items by arrangement, not able to come and go as he pleases.
As the contents are covered by your insurance you own the contents until settlement.

My sister is in hospital, has an infection in her brain and they don't know what it is. She seemed better yesterday but spiked a fever last night and has gotten worse today. She had encephalitis as a baby which left her with epilepsy and speech impaired, but she got through and lives her life as one of the kindest and happiest people I know. 27 years later she's going through it all again. It's not fair, she's never harmed or wished any ill will against anyone, and she has to go through this shit twice. It fucking pisses me off.

Just got a call from my conveyancer saying that settlement has been cancelled for today.
Something with the buyers place, she's still trying to get more information...
Why is it that nothing, nothing can ever go smoothly when I do something.
The contact is unconditional, so what happens there?

Nothing is ever supposed to go smooth when selling your house. I'm going through it now. Yesterday the oven breaks, and the plumber hasn't turned up today either! Thats pretty much stuffed my weekend of finishing the house off for next week.
I might aswell go to AB's and drink his beer since he won't be finishing off his motor....

Without a "subject to finance" or similar caveat/clause/condition, you may be in a position to pursue for damages (i.e. lost opportunity for another sale, interest on sale amount, agent fees etc), but this is lawyer territory, and I'm not one.
I seem to recall Cate Blanchette (possibly different Aus actor tho?) getting into hot water over reneging on a real estate contract a few years back. Different $ amount involved tho' I imagine...
The Whirlpool Forum sometimes has some useful info too on these sorts of things or at least tales-of-woe on what to avoid

Well after a bottle or three of red with the father in law and a about 20 phone calls (it really was) we have an answer, mind you not from the conveyancer, but the agent he rang the buyer.
Looks like someone has screwed up on the buyers end and he didn't get his funds to paid for my place.
We are hoping for a resettlement date late next week or early the one after.
The place we brought also had to be cancelled. They are happy to wait a week before implementing daily fees, if it goes longer than that and we get fees , well I will be doing the same.
On thing that my agent said is that the buyer is devastated. He was in the middle of loading up a truck when he got the call.
I can now sleep a little better knowing that it been delayed not cancelled...
Apologies if I came across a bit rude mudski
But this place has really taken me to hell and back several times.
I now just want to be done with it.

All par for the course with house selling unfortunately. When we sold our last place the buyers kept requesting extensions on the settlement date. Our agent kept reassuring us that all was ok, but when they requested a 4th extension we bit the bullet & gave them a deadline. Sign an unconditional contract (previously signed subject to finance) by 3pm Friday or it goes back on the market that day. They didn’t come through (later learned their finance had been shonky & they were never gonna get it) so we did as we said & put it back on the market & found a new solid buyer within 24 hours. Was meant to be. Despite this the system here is still much better than in the UK though, over there it is the norm that purchase is subject to the buyer selling their own place, & the contracts dont get signed until the day the keys are handed over. Consequently you get house buying ‘chains’ of up to 15 people & only needs one person to drop out & all the others are affected. Selling a house & moving is always stressful so best to expect it. A good agent can apparently help a lot, but having sold half a dozen houses I’m yet to discover if there is such a thing!

All jokes aside, yep it was unfortunately another chopper. It is frightening how many run forward and back overhead on long weekends. Not trying to preach here but my intentions were only to get any late leavers to slow down and think safety first! My neighbour is an Ambo and I've honestly watched his mojo sadly disappearing over the years. My hat definitely goes off to our emergency services people and the emotional trauma they deliberately put themselves through daily, our true heroes!!

Just when i was getting on top of things, this morning our Fisher and Paykel dish drawer dish washer decided it was going to die this morning. So i spent a good part of the day pulling it apart and using google and you tube to fault find on this thing.
Nah mate. Im in a 30 year old area. Last development here would be atleast 15years ago. Anyhoo. Plumbers been, all fixed, i shifted in half a meter of this red gravel into my backyard two days ago, then i shifted it back into the trailer to go to the tip.
