On real hot days it can creep just over half way on the temp gauge. Would not trust it in the Simpson, I need a new fan and shroud now anyway and while it's all out I will reco the fan clutch.
nissannewby

Doesn't necessarily mean it's your rad. The earlier td42 did have issues with the thermostats and there is mods or different types you could use. Also things like your condenser could be clogged, make sure all the rubber is in place that is inside your guards, even that the little factory bash plate thing is in place. A new fan and shroud will help as will servicing your viscous hub. A could check to know if it's your rad or thermostat is temp drop across the rad.

Yes my temps were just starting to creep up with all this hot weather we were having so pulled the radiator and shroud, it was full of crap, even the aircon condenser. Serviced the hub too and although there has been no more extreme hot temps it seems to run slightly cooler now.

One of those infrared temp guns its the easiest or you can get those stick on thermometer they use in fish tanks.

Or top hose and bottom hose?

Top and bottom hose mate. If the bottom is cold all good if there isn't much difference between the two then your rad could be the cause

Ducked into town, this arvo, and nearly ran over a beautiful Staffie bitch. The poor bloody thing was sitting in the right hand lane. Another driver just slowed down and waited for the dog to move. I beeped the horn and the Staffie ran onto the nature strip. I stopped and tied a rope to the poor confused thing, checked for an ID tag, (there was none). I shoved the dog into the Old Trol and took it to the Cop shop. The copper on duty rang the ranger, but she couldn't get hold of him. She had the cheek to ask if I wanted to take the dog home until the ranger showed up. The copper ended up taking the dog to a holding cell.

Drive to the conditions.
Keep within the speed limits.
Don't drink or drug drive.
Slow down and not be in a hurry.

I hope this makes sense, the black line is how your meant to go around the roundabout coming of a a train track over-bridge to access the street that runs parallel with the track, the red line is how people try and access the the street, and I have not yet seen a person make it in one go :) There is a sign before you enter the roundabout explaining this but obviously no one can read, I travel past that round about daily and amazed at how many times I see it happening.

Think all that builds roads in general needs a bullet, but yes this is really stupid, the amount of times I have come over the track entered the roundabout with my indicator on, gotten around only 2 have 2 slam on my brakes when another car has come over the track and doesn't give way to me trying to exit into that side street!

Speaking of roundabouts. Here in Thomastown, we have probably the worst round-about I've ever come across. Dalton Rd/Settlement Rd intersection. 3 Lanes each way. At peak-hour it is an absolute clusterf**k. Absolute pita to get across at the best of times, and then throw in the mix of stupidity and carelessness of some drivers and it's enough to drive you mental. I hate it so much that I do't mind driving an extra distance just to by-pass it and most times I've home quicker.

Ok, major rant coming....
A few days ago, some friends and I were fishing on a beach north of Perth, here in WA. As we were setting up our spot, one of my friends heard/saw vehicles coming out of the dunes, doing donuts and generally just going nuts. My friends comment was " look at these clowns. How soon before one of them puts it on there roof?"
Not 5 minutes later, one of them was on its roof.
Thankfully, no one was injured but the comment from the driver "I wasn't doing anything stupid." Was so typical... And of course his vehicle only flipped itself onto its roof because it wanted an all over tan....
Another common comment was "you did dumb stuff when you were young!".... And of course the answer is yes, I did. What then is the difference? I have been in 4WD clubs since I got my license at 15. Since then I have been on numerous driving courses, including advanced and instructor courses. I was taught to push the absolute limits of my vehicle... The difference was it was done in a such a manner that, if it went wrong, everyone was safe. Damage was an acknowledged and accepted risk if it were to occur.
Why then the rant? As we drove into this beech, there we witnessed people driving in excess of 60+ Kms down the beach! with passengers either seated in the tray of a ute or standing on the back or sides of vehicles. I saw one vehicle with very young children standing on the running board of a 4wd, thankfully driving slowly.... But why does this pi$$ me off? Because I have seen a kid doing this fall off, having had hid vehicle hit a bump. He was then run over by one of the family travelling just behind. All had been drinking...
Why is it this behaviour is fine when drinking and on holiday at the beach, irrespective of who else may happen to be there?
Add to that, the news of a death at the same beach over night from a brawl... Happy new year for some.

Little buggers know how to hide well.
They got into many cars last night, so lucky I heard them jumping the fence.
Although I woke up thinking I was still at camp thinking the noise I just heard was a car with a trailer driving along the dirt road behind my tent.
Then I realised when I heard them again.

I think one of my two graphics cards in my gaming pc has shat itself. Spent two hours so far trying to fault find which card it is. I have removed the heatsinks, shrouds and fans on both and gave them a fresh lather of heat sink paste hoping its only a heat issue. No joy. Tried many different drivers, no joy, now removing each card and trying again. If one has busted that means I have to ditch the good one too and fork out 8hunge for a new card. Yes I love my pc gaming and I do play on a big 30inch monitor til' 4am, hence the need for two graphics cards, then waking up thinking why do I do it to myself.

My Job! I am fukn' hating it at the moment. I used to enjoy going to work but the management have become progressively worse as business has got harder and our sales director wouldn't know how to sell anything, doesn't understand our market and his management technique is "stick" only. They've slowly be de motivating the sales team by setting ridiculous targets and taking little things away over the last 3 years so nobody has made bonus. Now they are reaping the rewards of their own ineptitude but of course it's not them it's us.
I still enjoy dealing with my customers but the micro management is going to make me leave without another gig to go to if it continues! None of the managers seem to be accountable for anything, just the sales execs.....it's all our fault.
I wanted to start the year with such optimism (feeling like I am almost fully recovered physically), now they want to review my diary for my next fortnight's meetings W.T.F???? Am I a junior sales kid? I have been their top performer (until I got sick the last couple of years and even then only missed my sales targets by 7% both years) and my colleagues and I are now treated with no respect at all.
Just let me get on with my bloody work!!!!!!! After nearly 7 years I reckon it's almost time to move on.....what to do next........
Rant over.

That's not good mate, I hate that type of management, I'm more the encourage and reward type which helps me get the best from my staff. It's your bosses type that discourage their staff when they try to pass the buck and makes everyone dissolutioned and then they wonder why they lose good staff. Good luck mate and keep an eye out for a boss that appreciates your efforts.

Yeah mate I know your joking. As for the cards, yeah I escape on my pc late at night shooting, driving tanks, helicopters, jets etc against other people around oz. Its my way to zone out for a few hours a night. So I take my pc seriously and I need the graphical horsepower to run a maximum resolution on a 30inch Dell monitor. My last pc build cost just over 3k.

Sooooo I book in to get my A/C sorted. I booked in as im on arvo shift I need my car. $40 to diagnose. No worries sounds good. $300 to service ok not bad. Drop the troll off I ask how long will the diagnosis take. 1/2 hour, ok I walk home and wait for their call to tell me if its worth servicing or if its fubar. 2 hours later I ring to see whats up. Its out of gas. NO F@CKING SH!T!!!!! I knew that! Is it holding pressure, is it a big leak is the compressor stuffed where do we go from here? Dunno cant tell without gas, the compressor looks ok. But a full service will cost $500. WTF! $300 two days ago. So $500 will that fix it and will it be ready at 14:00 as discussed. Hang on ill find out 7minutes on hold............... Nah might not fix it and may not be ready to pick up. Do you wanna rebook or should we start? By this stage im ready to totally lose my cool, like im forkn vibrating ready to pop! Nah mate I better come and pick it up cant take the chance being late for work. Walk back down thank fark its only 31 deg and not yet hit the 40 as predicted (only 15min walk but....). Ring another bloke near home and ask him advice. He says mate I'll vacuum test first if it holds for 10minutes ill gas with dye $150 come back in a week and we'll check for leaks, and fix if required. Can I come in Monday and how long will that take? Yup 08:00 1 1/2 hours max. SOLD see you then. Get to this Reputable by the way national A/C joint. Sooo when do you wanna book it in. Hi everyone. I hope this doesn't cop an 'off topic'. I'm taking this opportunity to say hooroo to you all. I haven't been very active over the last few years but have been a member ever since the early days of this site.
I have toured Australia to probably equate five full circuits of our beautiful land. For the last 20 years I have taken my school science show www.funshow.com.au to kids all over Oz.
Last year I turned 60, packed up my pushbike into a box and flew to England. A train down to Land's End and then rode my bike the length of UK. 1600ks camping all the way unsupported. Used all my outback skills!
A month after returning, I discovered that I'd done the trip with a massive tumour growing inside me. A big operation to remove the kidney cancer hasn't stopped it. It is back with a vengeance and I only have a few days or weeks left.
I have had a great life and have no regrets. My family of course is very sad. I just wanted to touch base with you all. Some may even remember me from the past. Explore Oz was a lovely way to share and experience others with a like minded interest in the outback, travel and the world around us.
Farewell and happy OzExploring.... Cheer Royce

Bloody caravans' driving 20klm below the speed limit on the only road we have to our small town. Then they slow for the corners and oncoming traffic. WTF.
There are 3 passing opportunities, if a car is heady toward us on one it is not possible so I was stuck behind this beep for the whole way aaarrrgggghhhhhh.
If you can not drive to the posted speed limit hand your licence in...
If you are that broke trying to save some money stay home...
I'm trying to make a living and don't speed but just want to get to the job and get it done.
I'm old, I'm cranky and I can still drive...

One of them his team pay him the gate entry value of his competition entry fee to help out, he does really well on such a small budget.
At last years comp his truck had cost him $3500.00 to date not bad for all the fun they have.

Funny story. My mate who's in the CFA just last week was told there was a red station wagon driving around lighting fires in Darlimurla. He went out to a call out and saw a red station wagon on the side of the road, car running and nobody anywhere to be found. He called out for the person but no answer. So he took the car keys out and gave them to the cops.
Turned out to be a poor bloke who was taking a piss and got scared and hid when my mate was calling out for someone!

Was he looking for a hit or a buzz or was he given some heavy stuff that was too strong? F knows.
Or maybe he had issues and couldn't take it any more, F knows.
What gets me is some "star" from the entertainment industry dies and all the media is saying what a great actor / person he was.
Of course its sad for those that loved and admired him.
Same sort of stuff happened when that bloke died in a sports car.
How many people died from the sleeping on the streets in the cold in the USA last night? Or how many died from drug abuse on the streets last night?
The media is not interested in any of that because they are not "stars".
I'm not a movie watcher so have no idea who these people are, but they are put on a pedestal and we are all expected to grieve for them.
Well I'm not going to.
AS John (TD) said there are places to contact like Beyond Blue if you do have issues, time is the healer and talking winds the spring in the clock.

Yeah I can't understand why there seems to be such a instance of allergies now. Ok it's been a fair while since I was at school/college /uni etc but I can't remember an instance where any one went into (insert long word here that I can't spell) shock due to nut allergies or bee stings. Or came out in big swollen lumps. It's selfish I know but it drives me crazy having to watch what I give my kids for lunch/snacks/brain food etc on the off chance some poor child might have an allergy. Especially seeing as my girls are such bloody fussy eaters anyway

To leave a child out of a peanut party is discriminatory, so no party.
So now the 100 other kids have no party now but that's not discriminatory.
