Fckn courier companies.

I've been trying to get delivery of a solar panel for several days now, I even took the day of work to pick the bloody thing up from their warehouse an hours travel from here and they say the can't find the bloody package.

Why is it they always try to deliver at 3:00pm when my wife is picking up the kids, and then getting the package is a serious pain in the arse. I'm rapidly running out of time to have this panel on the car, tested, and ready to go for a trip in a couple of weeks.

Grab the kit from SCA, works a treat and is a hell of a lot cheaper than a windscreen mob. I have used it on a few applications and it is great with no apparent issues.

Full kit has the filler, applicatin unit etc, all you need to do is co it in the shade and expose it to sunlight to set or a UV light if you have one.

Spent the first 30 minutes of yesterdays fishing (see what made me happy for location) picking up cans, nappies, bottles and assorted rubbish from around the area from absolute %^$#$%$## who think it is fine to leave their cr@p in these beautiful areas.

Happy that one big bag of rubbish had a shopping voucher in it along with a customer ID & Name from the local IGA. Am in the process of printing out a nice flyer to put up on the local notice board outside the shop outlining the details and letting everyone know they are a pack ^%$#. Will also give a copy to the shop management as they might just do something seeing it is their shop named on the docket to, though not their fault of course.

Oh and burning cans and bottles does not constitute cleaning up either!

Had the windscreen guy come out, from about 6 feet away " Na, can't fix that".....I said, "Hang on, the guy on the phone said if it was smaller than a 5 cent piece then it could be fixed"

Without even approaching it, "Nah, you see it's got all those little cracks in it, have to put a new one in"...

So after a few choice words I booked it in for a new one on Monday morning; yes, it could be done over the weekend for an extra $100....

Meanwhile, I went to SCA got the Permatex kit and had a go myself, it's not perfect but will see how long it takes till it pisses me off..

After checking a few things on the web, I think he refused to repair it because it fell within their 300mm driver view area...

Either way, I cancelled Mondays appointment and will postpone replacing it for as long as I can...

So, for forum information.....the mob wasn't Oh Oh Oh O*****, it was another National company..

It will cost $195 dollars to have a windscreen fitted to a Y61 patrol, they can't uses the original seal, so it will be replaced with an after market seal which is slightly wider than the original, the replacement windscreen will have the tinted top.

DIY was about $28. and about an Hours work ( which included the waiting periods as per instructions)

Yesterday I bought a 720p dash cam from supercheap on special for $90 down from $125. Biggest piece of crap. Out of focus and the mount isn't strong enough to handle even general road bumps.
I though 720p hd would be enough to see a number plate clearly but its just poo. Nothing like the youtube reviews.
Taking it back for a refund but the biggest problem is the hard wired cable that I now have to pull out.
The uniden Igo 600 seems like the go now and its 1080p for less than $125 but no one has them in stock.

Got a refund and walked straight in to harvey norman. Wanted the Uniden igo 600 but walked out with a great deal on a Navman MiVue 530 for $143. 1080p with gps and a rock solid mount.

If the picture quality of the Uniden Igo 600 is anything like the Uniden Igo 300 I have you should congratulate yourself on your choice. I got the 300 as a freebie, & I reckon it was expensive at that price.

Not angry but annoyed. The effing neighbors are at each others throats again as I type. This time its either here parents or her inlaws in on it too. They do this three, four times a week and they are so loud that the people living across the road from me think its me! They yell and scream so loud and throw stuff as I hear sh!t break often. I hate letting my kids out into our backyard because of this reason. No kid needs to see this, let alone hear it. And they have a kid of about 5 years old too there. I am just waiting to hear a gun shot one day!

Flicked over to ABC24 to catch some News and it was on question time in Federal Parliament.
I am absolutely amazed that any of these Politicians were elected to Parliament.
The questions and answers were not about running our Country but just Political Point scoring which by the way only matters to the Politicians themselves.
If question time is an illustration of the debate in Parliament then God help us.
Maybe we should all vote for independants

Haha! Heres a little story...
About 6 or so years ago they were at it, it was back then the daughter (who is now the mother of the 5yo boy), The mother of the daughter and the partner. There were going hell for leather and I was in the back yard and had a gut full. I yell at them to STFU and the partner told me to mind my own business. My response was how can I when everyone in the neighborhood can hear them and said for him to come outside and we'll sort it out right now. It was good for around six months then they all just left. Leaving two dogs and two cats behind. The next door neighbor to them called the council as the grass out the front and in the back was around 5ft high and there was animals there and no one had been around for months.
One Saturday arvo my brother inlaw came around and we were talking about it, and decided to jump the fence and have a look. The back door was wide open so we let ourselves in. Well! The entire house had been ransacked, walls kicked in, doors ripped from their frames. Power was still on, and the fridge still full of food. Every room was still furnished and clothes still in there drawers and cupboards. ( well supposed to be they were strewn everywhere). Front lounge still had the T.v and hi-fi there with a Foxtell box. The best thing was, there was dog chit everywhere. I mean everywhere, there was barely a bare section of floor showing. And the smell was worse than fresh dog chit smell. There was also around 10 of the 20kg dry dog food bags there empty, torn open by what it looks like from claws from the dogs.
Then 12months later the daughter returns with the same partner and its started again. I don't know if I want to shout out again now though. The daughter (the mother of the 5yo) seems to cop it hard from the partner, and she's always in tears. I do how ever always listen, just incase I hear him hit her or harm her. As if he does I will be on the phone to the cops straight away.
Then today I can only assume it was either her inlaws giving it to her, but they were speaking in Greek maybe and this guy was twice as loud as the partner.

But yeah a nice bush block would be great. we have been losely looking around for something but I need to finish our house first before I can do anything.

Supervisor has a look, reckons the pump assembly has just moved a bit and needs realignment, but we will replace the bearings while it's down. Don't order any parts too much $$$$

3 hours later it's all apart hey presto snapped shaft, go to order one, won't be here till tomorrow morning.

Yep. It's not the apprentice crap that bothers me, rather the fact that despite having more experience than the fella I'm working with (he did his trade in an unrelated area, has only been with us 2 years, useless as tips on a bull) won't listen to a word I say, cause he constantly is trying to tell every customer he is the only one worth listening to.

Uefkin doctors!!!!!!!!!!!......... long story short, the young boy had been having major difficulties crapping since he was about 15 months old (he's now 2.5 years old). GPs kept saying that nothing was wrong, it's just his diet, try this try that etc etc, nothing worked. They said it was all in the boys head, it's a behavioural problem. Finally find a GP that would refer him to a pediatrician but only after some persuasion. Anyway, boy has an xray and they find a rather large blockage in his bowel. Pediatrician wanted to get the boy into surgery today but not able to get an appointment until 17th March, so 2 weeks. I guess the boy has waited this long, 2 more weeks won't make much difference.
So $400 for today, then further $2k approx for the op. I'd sell my one of my kidneys but they're probably fucked. Anyway the boys health is more important than money but fuck me it, let me catch a break hey..............

Anyway rant over, I'm off to Bunnings to find a very big hammer

Edit.... I forgot to mention that the pediatrician told us it's not a behavioural problem but they won't know what the issue is until they operate.

These people shouldn't be allowed to touch anything.

Let me ask you, if a shear pin breaks in a machine, would you simply replace it, or would you check to see what caused the breakage?

How about when the second pin breaks five seconds later?

When the third one breaks?

Or would you wait till the fourth one is broken and the machine completely buggered, so instead of me taking 1/2 and hour to remove the jammed part and refit, it takes me 7 hours to fix every other part that got bent to the s**thouse!!!

Thanks for ruining my weekend!

Considering that you have done so much to keep that rig clean and legal, they must have been having a really slow day, and hadn't had their hourly feel good power trip.
How much will it cost you to take it over the pits though? Or will they be happy for you to just unbolt it?

That sucks Mego. I got pinged twice in Mansfield. For some reason they can be very arrogant over there and I don't know why. After they looked and realized they couldn't get me for anything, they started getting annoyed, and let me go the first time. The second time, they got me for tyres being 32" instead of 31.5" (factory ) on my d22 navara, and with the lift, overall it was too high, but ended up letting me go again.
They love pulling over 4x4's there. I know they're popular being a gateway to the HC, but still ...
I know a bloke who works for DEPI up there, and even they cop it all the time in their 70s landcruisers. They actually get pulled over, checked, and even canaried... Ridiculous.

Fark fark fark............. something's not right at all with the old clunkers cooling system. Been using it to go back and forth to work in this week. So on Monday morning started her up and at first didn't seem to be firing on all cylinders, couple of dabs on the accelerator and was good. On the way temp rose to about 3/4 on the old reliable stock gauge. So before driving home Monday night, checked coolant level and ended up having to top up with a litre of coolant, overflow bottle level was on minimum. So kept the radiator cap off, started her up and again not firing on all cylinders at first, then came good. Lots of bubbles from the radiator filler too for a few minutes but came good, so I thought ok, probably had a bit of air in the system. Temp gauge sat under half way on the drive home, which is where it normally sits.
Tuesday morning start the car, once again seemed like it wasn't firing on all cylinders at first but came good quickly and temps stayed normal to and from work. Same thing this morning and leaving work but only about 1km from home, temp gauge rose and rose very quickly to just past 3/4, so turned the heater on fully hot and nursed home. Still to hot to check how much coolant has been lost but there's not much in the in the overflow............ So I'm fearing the worst and right now it could not have come at a worse time, what with trying to sell the fecking thing and the boys hospital visit next week. To say I'm mightily pissed off right now would be an understatement.

Seems Mansfield has not changed in a very long time. I got pinged there in 1988 for having my window open & my elbow resting on the open window, in my HQ station wagon. It seemed pretty ‘picky’ even back then. We had been camping up past sheepyard flats & had a trailer with a couple of dirt bikes in tow.

I have been going up the High Country for years through Mansfield and have never been pulled up by the Police or put through a Road Check.

Maybe it is because I am a staid old bugger driving stock standard Nissan Patrols LMAO
