Can I sit down at the main drag in Figtree with an esky full of coldies and take FLASH ! photographs of all the w@nkers with fog lights on ?
Then send the photos into the media and stir up a big sh!tstorm.
Absolutely fed up with twits who think their car needs to have 4x headlights to dazzle other drivers.
Sometimes it gets the better of me and I unleash the "bunny burners" "rakers" and 100w high beams - but that's just being as bad as them.
One clown followed me up the F6 (or whatever they call it now) with enough lights in my mirrors to run a rock concert
followed me up the exit too.
So I stopped at the traffic lights and lit up the rear flood lights.
Took him 2x sets of "greens" to realise he was going nowhere until he dimmed the w@anker circus.
So I extinguished the floods, waited till the lights were amber/red and left him behind to think about it.
Have seriously thought about taking the wire cutters down to Maccas and snipping all the wires to the "P" platers fog lights in the car park.
Ahh - feel better now, love a good rant.
now - where did I put those wire cutters ?

Wading or should I say sinking, into the fetid, reeking cesspool of Gov't Departments, websites, backflips, jargon, doubletalk, contradictions and absolute horseshit of Human Services, Veterans Affairs etc trying to figure out 1 simple thing... am I entitled to an age pension and, if so, how $#%@$% much...
JEEZUS $#$%%^%$ CHRIST !!!!
How hard can it be to have even an online calc for "the dude" has this much asset $ for the asset test and this much income for the income test.
But Hell No that is all too hard, every time you end up having to 'go to a Human Services Centre to lodge this or that' 'cause prior to 01 April the amount = to 38.2% of the unfunded income is deemed to earn something even if it doesn't but only if the moon wasn't up when the constitutionally protected asset was purchased less an offset of 10 gigglefarts per 100 accrued if the life expectancy divide by Pi is less than 5 times the price of the cakes used for Smoko in 1983.
Anyone been to one of those soul destroying, rancid Human Service Branch shitholes and had to deal with the apathetic nuff nuff staffing the joint, not one of which can even begin to start to sort out an issue without 3 x 15 minute phone calls and 2 consultations with another staffer even more pissed off than them?
Even after a half dozen attempts you still end up going back after the wrong advice with the wrong evidence, wrong forms and WRONG %$#^^%$ ATTITUDE so you get asked to leave by Security who is the only dipstick in the joint who actually knows his job!!!!!!!

VIVA LE REVOLUTION !!!
Know what you mean - Centrestink seem to be able to take a simple task and F.U.B.A.R. it so bad it will take months to sort out.
Tip - when you have to deal with Centrestink, plead illiterate or dislexic (can't read or write/understand) Tell them you are unable to use internet or read/understand the paperwork because of your disability.
They then have to provide you with someone who can translate the academian language the forms are written in, fill out the paperwork for you and submit it to centrelink with their name attached as the person that helped submit the forms.
Fight them with their own stupidity I say !
The next challenge will be NSW RTA - changed to the RMS and now combined into "Service NSW" which is just a template copy of the chaotic inefficiency of Centrestink.

Nah mate I have plenty of experience with buyers and non payers in the store.
Dealing with eBay themselves is worse. A customer purchased some items, they sent me a message saying they bought the wrong parts can they return them for the correct parts. I said yes, the customer does the right thing and lodges it through eBay so they know he's returning the items. I get a message from eBay last week saying the customer has sent the items and I need to refund the buyer by the 26th, today. Well I haven't received the items back yet and eBay will refund the buyer! WTF! So I lose out. Even though the customer hasn't given any tracking details of the returned items, just their word.
Negative rating here we come
Yeah I will give the buyer another day maybe then I'll lodge a non payer dispute. Then relist them. Bloody spewin though as the coin from these is going towards paying for the engineers report.

Well not today as such but;
Thursday last week - (1) The drivers window on the Kia work truck broke the winder cable and dissapeared into the door. (2) It immediatly started raining. No matter use the Merc Vito Van.
Friday last week - The Vito blows a turbo. Much smoke and tow truck to pay for. Track down on line a recon turbo and a window winder.
Saturday - going out with another clubbie and Patrol making a strange noise on start up. Went away before I could track it down.
Monday - Patrol won't start in morning - eventually get it happening and test it at work - two glow plugs stuffed. Order Glow plugs.
Tueaday - vendor rings to inform me they only have two glows in stock. Start hunting around for another set at a reasonable rate. Email service to work crashes for a couple of hours.
Wednesday - Email back up. Bunch of stuff from yesterday. Wade through all that and Good news at last - vendor has found glowplugs and dispatched.
Can hardly wait for tomorrow. Oh yea, the Patrol is still the only vehicle running, turn to glow wait for light to go out, repeat, repeat, repeat then start.

Cheap crap connectors! The anti theft system I designed and fitted was playing up. It was doing very strange things like letting me start the car then shutting it down, or the starter worked but the engine wouldn't fire and occasionally doing its job and locking out everything. I went through the wiring the other day and even soldered the connectors at the crimp. It worked for a couple of days then played up this morning. Pulled everything apart and tested all wiring and connectors. I finally noticed that a bullet connector would rotate slightly when the wires were cable tied. The bloody thing was tight to pull out, but loose inside! I ripped out the lot of them and replaced them with Narva connectors.

First world rant i admit...
Wtf is with tv guides these days? I spend a fair bit of time on the road in motels, cabins etc. Why, oh why, are tv guides so user unfriendly? I have a panasonic tv at home and the guide couldnt be easier or quicker, but every single motel, cabin etc has a tv that is easier to change from one channel to the next to see whats on. Tonight a samsung tv that has to load up data every time i drop down through the guide. Every press!! Farrrrrr!! Should just read a bloody book. Is panasonic the only brand with a good guide??
Yeah my Sammy 60incher does the same. So i dont use the guide, i use the info button and flick that way.

Got the papers today for my procedure on 25th so I won't be in a condition to drive up to Licola and have a good time without being pumped with antibiotics etc... I had to accept the date otherwise I'll be waiting for many months. So had to pull out of Licola trip regretfully.

My experience with average workshops and customer service -
Am typically pretty fussy when it comes down to who works on my car and what goes in it, so tend to shop around quite a bit. For the past 10 years or so we have always used the same workshop for all our cars for general servicing and they have been faultless in that respect. Whenever we thought about buying a car we would book it in for an inspection, would say he has definately saved me from a few lemons over the years.
With the Patrol there wasn't an opportunity to inspect it due to distance (down the coast). Anyway it was love at first site and just had to get it and figured once I got it home would book it in asap. So I booked it in for a once over and advised them to sort out the front wobble at the same time please call me if there are any issues. Meantime like most I jumped on the net to see if I could find anything at all on this issue, sure enough found 1000's of hits talking about it which was a little upsetting but same time felt confident they would sort it as it was a common issue it seemed.
Dropped it into my trusted mechanic on the day and awaited the inevitable phone call which I suspected would be something like
"yeah mate we found the problem, yeah we can sort it out no worries but it ain't gonna be cheap blah blah..." to my suprise no phone call, thought great they've sorted it. So go to collect car and $500 later I get my keys back, along with the suggestion it should go back to Nissan as it looks like a design issue, thanks see ya later. "Hang on what about the rest of the car" I says and was directed at a small leak on the diff other than that all good. Great I thought as I jumps in and fire it up. Driving home wtf, not only to find the problem wobble still there and if am not mistaken worse, it seems to be struggling to gain revs. so I pull up and callthe workshop office back suggesting the situation is now worse and bordering on dangerous and maybe someone should have suggested this when i picked it up and what exactly did they do to it and what are they going to do. Apparently it got a full tyre balance and rotate and a service, yes but what about the wobble?.. at which point the conversation started to derail as he was not expected to know every little thing that happened in his workshop and this was a specialised issue.
Anyway after the dust settles it appears I have lost a friendship with what i thought was a decent mech and basically been handed my hat and asked to take it elsewhere for that issue ... like Nissan. Am a bit wary of service centres as have been stung more than once with some really expensive services, but in anger I ring Nissan service anyway at which point am advised it could be anything and can get quite costly. Wow am thinking to myself if this guy thinks its going to be exy than I better start worrying. He says they had one bloke there who was experienced on these issues but he was on holidays though they would still be happy for me to bring it in for a look ($$$).
So now what, back onto the Net and start trawling the forums etc. I drove up the coast, I drove down the coast and spoke to anyone with an opinion. Finally worked my way to my current new mechanic, who has been nothing short of stellar in sorting my wagon out - decent bloke to boot.

And hence very hard for a mechanic to pinpoint. Unfortunately good mechanic or bad mechanic, the dreaded wobbles seem to have as many cures as causes and sometimes even people in the know will have to simply start replacing parts until it disappears. It's sad that you lost a friend and trusted workshop over it even after you trawled the internet and came up with the very many causes.
Edit: my gq has over 430,000 ks on it and everything is very well flogged out under the front of it yet the wobbles are just barely perceivable occasionally.... where-as a friends GU with small tyres and less than 100,000 on it has the wobbles come and go regularly

fair enough but couldn't they offer something... even a " well we're stuffed mate, but we're gonna hang onto it as its not really safe ATM" . The day Mike saw it, he came back with a list of issues and advised me to take it back to the bloke who did the roadworthy to get them to fix the leaking rear bearing seal. I did exactly that. I wouln't have known to do that otherwise. He then gave me a comprehensive list of all the bits needing a look at. Let me say there were some biggies in there that my previous Mech should have spotted a mile away so to speak.

Well it's disappointing what has happened.. and unfortunate.
I hope the new mechanic hangs on..
Unfortunately the wobbles are one of those issue that you can nail first time or spend heaps of time chasing. .
My gq had half a million on it before the wobbles were bad enough to warrenty a fix..
But at half a million I pulled the whole front end and rebuilt the lot..
Bushes bearing seals the lot..
After I didn't need a steering dampener it was that good..
But I fitted one to reduce the force of self steering in things like ruts etc..
I always suggest start with the free stuff.
Try nipping up wheel bearings or removing a shim from the king pin bearings..
Then if do able try greasing the joints. The grease will take up the slop and provide a temp fix, enough to deem it's fixed or not..
The last move onto bushes..
These have to be pressed out so can be costly if you can't do them yourself..
Imo a new dampener is a bandaid fix but plenty offer that as first fix..
It just masks any underlying issues..
Hopefully it's a short fix mate but as said can be one of the last things tried..

Bought a poly box for the van to fit portaloo and other loose ends in..
Add stated 500 high and 8mm wall..
I ask if my 450 mm tall loo will fit..
They said yes..
So outlay a fair lump of cash..
Well turns up today and they failed to mention that it may be 8mm thick but it's double skinned and it has ridges in the bottom..
Max height is 435!!!!
That's a huge difference from 500mm with an 8mm wall!!!!

F@#kng insurance companies again. A few nights ago my wife backed her car into her dad's car what can you do s*** happens her first accident in over 20 years of driving. Ring the insurance company and to put it short they're going to fix her car minor damage but they're not going to fix the father in-laws car that's got a nice big whopping dent in it back quarter panel. The reasoning for this they put it as a subrogation claim. So it's ok to accidentally crash into a stranger but just don't do it to a family member on your own driveway. To make things worse he can't claim either he's only got 3rd party.

Couldn't agree more...
The ACT just passed into law that it is illegal to "ridicule" a religion and mentions items in possession like clothing, media, cartoons etc.
Potentially thousands of $ fine and some time in the slammer if you have the 'wrong' T shirt in your bag
The twisted logic is that it means, for example, that the 'Charlie Hebdo Massacre' wouldn't have happened because the paper wouldn't have been allowed to print what they did and piss off the poor oppressed terrorists.
Can't wait to see how the ACT handle the Australian if Bill Leake has a crack at them... going to have to arrest a lot of people for having a Newspaper
Also means that it is not illegal to burn the Australian Flag but it is now illegal to burn the Isis Flag (religious text) in the ACT... how $#%$#$ up is that!!!!
Wadda we want?
Right Wing Coup!
When do we want it?

They use the workshop next door for their roadys and they gave me a list as long as my arm. Window tint, yeah i know that was too dark, no biggie. Remove the tint. Pretty much every suspension bush front and rear they failed, and both engine mounts. Even though the mounts are 12 months old, and all the bushes were only change not even six months ago when i was trying to decifier the front end knock i had.
So Brett was going to chuck it up on the hoist and look for themseves and speak to them and get back to me. He didnt so im hoping he has sorted it. Or he hasnt put it up on the hoist yet.

Sounds like they want some work....
My not angry either but annoyed with myself..
Last weekend while building the cook run the gate I was welding slipped from my glove while turning it and the just welded section landed right on my wrist!!!!
What a carnt of a spot. Rubs on everything..
Nothing will stay affixed to that section due to the movement in all directions..
So I've let it start to scab over and it worse..
Back to the soloist to atleast free it up..
If it scabs it'll tear itself apart and be even worse!!

Feel the pain with the GST routine. Any stray cash toward the end of the month I use to pay my forward creditors, keeps the GST under control for the current month BUT at some stage I run out of creditors and end up with a nasty GST whack at some point! A necessary evil is tax in general. Own a small business? Not in the next reincarnation! Bang Head

Easy enough as long as no bits get stuck inside the mechanism.
I replaced mine a couple of years ago and bent it again the next day. :(
You have probably found out how to do it but incise this is Yendors instructions below.
Are you just replacing the rope and mast or the whole unit including the motor?.
If it's just the rope and mast, unscrew the nut on top and remove the shroud that sits between the nut and the top of the guard.
Then just turn the radio on and pull upwards on the aerial mast at the same time, the old rope and mast should pull out. Sometimes it can be corroded and very difficult to get out.
Make sure you remove all the old rope, sometime it can break and leave a piece stuck in there.
To fit the new one just hand feed it in as far as it will go and then turn the radio off and gentle feed it back down as the aerial motor pulls it down.
If you have difficulty remove the old rope and mast you may need to remove the whole aerial from the vehicle.

Had the Patrol 30000 km service at the dealer (that should be enough to make me mad)
When I got it back I checked all the things that should have been done (and weren't), filled in the dealers feedback, heard nothing back.
Filled in the Nissan feedback form a week later, got the call from the Service Manager an hour later, arranged for to do what was required.
Good points, they changed the air filter & filled it with fuel to make up for having to bring it back.
Bad points, when they did take the wheels off to inspect the brakes, they used pliers on the wheel nut torque indicators and damaged them, I now have scratches on 2 rims that look like a wheel nut has spun in the rattle gun across the surface, the torque indicators were not put back pointing to the centre. Service Manager said he personally took the wheels off & did not do the damage.

A motorbike shop scratched my bike CB 900 bol d when they removed the split pin
on the rear axle and used plyers to remove it scratching all the alignment marks.
To say I was miffed was an understatement let fly at the owner never to return.

Hmm. Theres a cover plate that needs to come off first. Using 3 bolts, i think they are 6mm thread, evenly screw them in and the cover plate comes off. Then you need to remove the centre nut, and theres a circlip in there too from memory. A gear puller is needed now to remove the pulley.
Once the pulley is off you need to press the bearing out. The centre part of the pulley flexes so make sure it stays in the same position when removing and installing the new bearing because if you dont the pulley wont be centred on the pump when you put it back together and the pulley will be out of alignment with the rest of the pulleys.

But yes that plate has the 3 jacking bolts in it. 3 @ 5mm
Removed the middle bolt first, it holds the nose cone/ cover plate in.
Had them done up to nearly snapping and no go..
So made up the jacking plate to try and budge it but ended up bending the plate. . (3rd bolt is behind middle jacking bolt..)

Once plate is off then cir clip and puller to get pullie off...

True that, but unless youre operating far regional it doesnt make much difference. I use aldi mobile and get better prepaid rates and never have reception issues because they use the devil's infrastructure. You dont need to pay the devil to eat at their cafe. Never had the need to call aldi with a concern, but telstra is horrendous to have to deal with when data goes missing without explanation but apparently this issue was "legitimate usage" even though they cant tell me where it went and my usage never changed. Btw did i say how great it is to have language difficulties intertwined with two second voice delays? Just brilliant.

Was it data or credit that went missing? You can check data use on the phone itself.
Also, I have had every mobile phone and every internet service through telstra and the couple of problems I have had were fixed super quick and super easily. Sucked in.

My phone is a full Telstra (4G) post paid, if Telstra has service it works as you would expect. Plus the sim goes in the Sat phone and works on the iridium network so Telstra for me is the only choice.
My wife has an Aldi phone on the Telstra 3G network, on our recent trip she was doing her lolly not having service when I had multiple bars of signal. Also it wont work in the Sat phone either, from what we were told.
Many small places are covered by 4G only, so the cheaper Aldi package simply wont work.
I recently got a new phone and copped a fair beating about paying more for Telstra service.
When it was proved the service was better suited I actually got an apology of sorts and a comment it had been right to go that way.
Don't know if anyone else felt the earth move that day!

It's lost a little pressure not heaps. No knock.
I've noticed over the last month or two that it has been down.
After the Cobaw trip where it had a short burst of high revving on an incline it was even lower.
If I was to only drive it around town it wouldn't be a problem, but I don't want it to let go if I'm out bush.
The engine has around 500,000km so its probably due, as a wear and tear item.

Could it have simply lost a bit of guts and thinned out?
My td42 had 525*** on it when sold and used bugger all oil and had brilliant compression.
I'd personally change the oil first for a 10-50 or 15-50 grade and see how that goes..

The oil was 5300km old. I thought the same, may have thinned out. I changed it and it's improved slightly, but more inconsistent now.
Have been using 20-50 to help slow a leaking rear main.
Only other thing I can think of is the pickup mesh may be a little blocked, but as mentioned it's probably just wear and tear on the engine.
Any other possible things to look at to diagnose will be appreciated.

4-11 psi @ hot idle use to be as high as 20.
35 @100km (1800 rpm) use to be 45.
As per manual @2800rpm 42 use to be 54.
It's around the low end of the recommended range.

If it is inconsistent, is the gauge a bit iffy? I thought I had a problem with mine after towing to Bearii and it turned out to be the sender wiring.
I don't think so. I have checked the wiring and it's consistent with the factory oil symbol on the dash.

In hindsight, I should have written that I've blown the head gasket on my 2002 Ford, on my Facebook page. Instead of, I've buggered a fourteen-year-old escort. The police still haven't seen the funny side, my laptop's been confiscated, and my missus has gone back to her mothers!!!

Maybe run a new earth from the gauge to the battery
and see if that makes a difference.
You never had problems before fitting gauges did you
or did you fit gauges to monitor whats going on, lol

Went to put some water in the 2nd battery last night before I put it on the charger, I have to remove the battery holder so I can remove the caps off the battery and pour the water in. 10 minute job tops.
55 minutes later, after spending 45 minutes looking for the damn battery holder bolt that fell out and completely vanished, I walk inside.
Spent 5 minutes this morning looking for that bolt, still couldn't find it.
Drive down the road, CRUNK, there it goes. Bolt and 12" piece of cowling drop out and onto the road.

Rear ended a car this arvo............ good news is kids ok but bad news is i only had ctp as we cancelled it when i couldn't really afford it at the time. Feeling so angry with myself and depressed right now :(:(:(
So received a letter in the mail yesterday ( dated 31st August ) from Allianz Aust debt collectors saying I owed them 1200 bucks and their instructions are 2 recover the amount by all necessary means which may include issuing legal proceedings if total amount isn't made.... ( no date when payment needed 2 be made by )
I have received no communications from Allianz other than a few weeks after the accident when I had a missed call from them which I called back the next day and it was just 2 say a claim had been made against me and also that I was looking at around $1000 in repairs.
I rang Allianz tonight but was told the claim department will have 2 call me back 2morrow.
Well that has made me angry today

Got the shits because I spend more time fixing my Patrol than driving it. Seems every time I drive it I have to park it up for 3 or 4 months.
Hopefully I am just about done with this bad luck I've had for the last 12 months or so and can get out and enjoy the bloody thing more often!

Speaking of dodgy weather, tuned on the lights in the kitchen the other night and the lights went out. Tripped the switch cos the bloody roof is leaking from where i put new iron on the roof. Think it's getting in round the range hood flashing but all looks perfect now maybe one tiny bit of a tek screw that could have more silicon. Have tried fixing it a couple of time's, think that's got to have done it but no still leaks ARRRRGH! ! Better put a tarp over it tonight and have another go on the weekend if it still leaks don't know what to do, tek screw an umbrella over it. . .

Yep, heard from Matty today and it won't be too long until the pump is on, but might take me a while to get the car down to diesel tech for a tune up. I have to take a day off work to get there and that's gonna be hard to do this year...

Crappadore died on Sunday and I suspected the DFI module failed as cylinder 2 and 5 which is same coil dropped and changing coils around made no difference ( happened a year or so ago and same symptoms ) so got a new one on Monday arvo and fitted...... sweet it runs normal again :)
Drive 2 work on gas and on way home flick it over to petrol..............dies in the ass, try restarting............. nothing so switch to gas.......fires and runs perfectly......switch 2 petrol......dies again :( switch 2 gas and drive rest of way home.
Can hear fuel pump work when I start it on petrol but doesn't seem 2 be getting fuel up 2 the fuel rail.........
So over cars.............. think its time 2 buy a dirt bike again

mudnut as I told you before Ive been having massive arm pain the last month or so.
I had another yesterday that extended from my wrist to the left rear of my head.
The pain is so bad you nearly pass out. To combat it I stripped off and jumped into a hot
shower till it subsided. Today at the doctors the pain has gone but my skin on my left
arm is hyposensitive, you cant touch it its so hypo. They say I have a pinched nerve
in the cervical area. I would not wish this pain on my worst enemy. There nothing to do
about it short term, just need to be very very carefull....boy does it hurt like
someone has put your forearm in a vice and just keeps turning and squeezing GGRRrrrrrrrrr
