Theivin' pr***s having a go at my 11 day old lightforces....
Locknuts did their job but they took my covers...
If you want to really stop them, drill a 1/8th hole through the bolt
then use a castle nut and a split pin, that will slow them down the aaa holes

I've tried those nuts but found a set of multigrips or footprints will loosen them.
Even a small spot of weld .lol

With the XGT's, the locknuts are fairly recessed into the mount itself so would be very difficult to get vicegrips on them.
The only way I can see to get them off (in tact) would be to use a set of long nosed pliers and put the tips into the holes.
You'd need 20 minutes or so to do it, so hopefully a deterrent.

Agree if it looks like it will take more than a fe minutes they normally give up.
Which is why you still have your lights, Great lights XGT I had a set when they

Bloody council is trying to rezone the land across the road, and the bloke near me is still pressing ahead with his bid to run an earth moving business. Put the on-shore gas mobs' bid to stuff up our water and this place won't be worth anything.
I can imagine our add: 4 bedroom house on acreage for sale. Will suit a family that suffers from hearing loss and no sense of smell.

Yeah it does but im trying not involve the insurance co as my premium will go up.
Ive sent out messages to all customers invloved, all so far are understanding, as i have offered a discount on their item with free express post.
Ive worked it out it happened friday arvo around 4ish, going by sales prior and after.
Friday arvo each week is when eBay do their weekly clean up if you can put it that way. If i decide to sit down and list up new items at this time im almost guaranteed the new listing wont come up or come out with garbled images etc etc.
So wether this has something to do with it, not sure as i dont touch listings anymore on Fridays for this reason.
But anyhow, its happened, just a hiccup, albeit a biggun, im working through it and i should be back up and running at full speed by tonight.
On another note, i got my windscreen replaced today aswell and the fitter left broken glass fragments all through the front on the car and he's totally rooted the lower winscreen seal. Hope it doesnt rain between now and when the new seal arrives.

I have changed all passwords to everything. Now lets see how many times I forget them. Haha! So far so good with reversing transactions with customers. None have kicked up a stink.
Speaking with other eBay users, they say its very rare these days for an account hack to happen. Its either someone got, or guessed the password, or eBays Friday funnies were at work. Which happens this time every Friday when they do server cleanups and what ever else they do. As it happened Friday afternoon when I had finished up.
eBay have a glitch which I am having issues with for the last couple of months where I have an item listed with free postage, it has an option for express at $9. Say a hub seal for example. If the customer searches for "GQ Patrol Rear Hub seal" it will list all sellers with this in their description. Along in the list is price and postage, or free postage. Mine will always show the express post option as the main postage choice. Also if your browsing through my store, the incorrect postage will sometimes show up on things. But, if you click on the item, it will come up as it should.
Trying to explain this to eBay is like masturbating with a cheese grater. Slightly amusing but mostly painful. Here's to you....

You're allowed to make offers which seller can accept with a "Subject to finance" clause. Although this is only an option for out-of-auction sales. Seller has the right to refuse this ofcourse.

In most cases today you can't do that John. Bank dictates everything and you don't know where you stand until you make an offer and the bank the does the evaluation.
Sometimes they will refuse you a $300k house, and then grant you $500k a week later...

Hodge is spot on John, it all comes down 2 the banks evaluation on the house.
My sister has just gone through exactly that, she went 2 purchase a place the other month and the bank only done a desktop evaluation meaning they never got off there fat ass and went and had a look, got declined because they didn't believe it was worth what the owners well selling it for.

Eh? Not hard to get pre approved finance from your lender. Then you know your limit. We did and we are at least six months away from selling our joint. when we are ready to sell. I'll be telling the agent to make sure the potentials must have their finances sorted or they can eff off! Lol.

Irrelevant Mark. You can get approved for $1 million if you wish, but if the house you make an offer on, isn't worth the $ you offered, in Bank's books, your $1m pre-approval goes out the window.
Banks want security and equity in case your finances go arse over head. If they don't believe they can't get your loan's worth back on the house, they simply say no.
the evil twin
24th June 2016, 06:13 PM
Agree ^^^^
It's been like that since as far back as I can remember and is a real pain in teh arse in a volatile market
You can have a $Mill pre approved and the Bank still won't lend on a 600,000 house if they value it below the amount you want to borrow
Pre approval is "we will lend you up to 'x' dollars but only if the chosen property has a valuation which matches criteria".

i just got off the phone to my mum. she told me that my brother in law assaulted my sister last night. pretty much the short of it is they moved to WA from Tamworth (his home town) so she could pursue her career of becoming a police officer. hes always been a country boy and liked to go pigging every weekend while she stayed home and took care of my niece(Harper). he didn't like Perth much as it was to much of a city so she transferred to Geraldton. He gets to go pigging every now and then but only when she isn't on shift (which is all over the place). He is upset that he has to take responsibility and look after Harper instead of being off pig chasing. So they haven't been getting along very much lately and last night in an argument he pushed her out of the house and then threw his phone at her.
I'm sitting shaking with anger but typing it out like this helping me calm down. I just don't understand what is wrong with some people, like when does pig chasing(or any other thing for that matter) loose precedence to people and there family becomes priority. Its also pretty upsetting that i dont just live around the corner so i can just go tell him to pull his bloody head in!!!

Nic, luckily you sister is in a job where she will get support, they stick together through thick or thin. Bad as it is it would be so much worse if she didn't have family or workplace support.
In most states they have zero tolerance and police have no discretion but to act in cases of domestic violence (and so they should).
I hope the Sargent made it clear that he will be removed if it persists.
All the best mate, really hope it works out for your sister.

Thanks mate. Its really upsetting. Both my sisters just seem to have shit luck with men in their lives (not family ones tho) priorotizing them below social activities and it really bothers me. First and foremost family comes first always and he should be happy that she is succeeding and making a great future for the three of them! Sent from my bar of soap with a piece of string Road trip?

i just got off the phone to my mum. she told me that my brother in law assaulted my sister last night. pretty much the short of it is they moved to WA from Tamworth (his home town) so she could pursue her career of becoming a police officer. hes always been a country boy and liked to go pigging every weekend while she stayed home and took care of my niece(Harper). he didn't like Perth much as it was to much of a city so she transferred to Geraldton.
I'm with to you on this one..
There will be pigs next weekend..
And after that..
Sounds like he's one of those who don't want to grow up..
Hopefully they can sort their shit out as its usually the kids that loose out most..
Hope she is ok though.. never nice hearing of abuse. No matter who it is..

As a few people on here know, I like my red wine and am a member of a wine club and we bottle 800 bottles of wine at a time.
One of my jobs is to organize the bottles, our normal bottle supplier closed up recently so I had to go to a new mob.
I picked up my pallet of 800 bottles yesterday morning and as I am driving along Glen Osmond Rd in peak hour traffic I notice in the rear-view mirror that the top layer of bottles is moving around on the pallet so I start to slow down looking for a place to pull over. Then bottles started to slip out of the plastic wrap and land on the road and I had the car behind me leaning on his horn.
I pulled into a side street and stopped and realize there is no way I could secure the bottles to keep going so after cleaning up the mess on the road I unhitched the trailer and drove back to the bottle supplier to let them know how much they f@#ked up, grabbed enough milk crates off them to fill with bottles from the top layer of the pallet and some plastic wrap to secure the rest better.
When I finally got back to work my work mates laughed at me, bloody unsympathetic bastards. Did eventually laugh at it later on after I calmed down.

Growing pain in front of my face could be what I dreaded for a long time. My front upper teeth bone (Maxilla) isn't looking good.
I have a calcium intake disorder in the front of my facial bones. Meaning they are weak as piss and my upper teeth are deteriorating from the inside out.
If this turns out so, bit of a dental surgery is in order. Not happy.

The 2 majors are way out of touch with the majority.
Australia is dying outside of the major cities but it's not seen..
I think a shake up is what's needed..
The day before the election Turnbull scraps bulk billing on a few major bits of Medicare. . Then outright side steps questions to further cuts..

True.. But the 2 majors are most out of touch..
I honestly hoped that the country would have voted all minor parties..
But then they have to work together which could be an issue, but atleast it would get a wider discussion and not just the thoughts of one party and it's passed. .

Have to totally disagree with you, giving single minded minorities the power of having the deciding votes when policies are made is the worst thing for the country.
Most of them have no consideration of the financial impact of allowing for their idealistic demands.
We need one party to have control but unfortunately that is unlikely to happen.

Three years of a minority government can mean three years where some big organizations do not have the confidence to start large projects in Australia, it also makes it hard for the government to get their own large projects through parliament. Slowing down an already sluggish economy is not good.

Neither are going to back out of the FTA'S.
Neither are going to quite 457's or whatever the new name is..
How can we grow when we are battling imported shoit that's tax free when we get slogged from every angle..
How can the economy grow when big cuts are made to education.
How can you keep expecting everyone to throw in their hard erned cash when you have huge coporations side shifting profits and dodging millions of Tax, that we've had to pay them........
Either way in my eyes we ain't moving forward untill some pretty major changes are made..

Chasing around quoting a tray back full alloy box with gull doors, fully sealed and lockable.
Gave him a price which imo was conservative due to the amount of welding..
He asked if I had made a type because he can get a box for $1000..
I said good luck and have fun..

Some young P-plater cockroach in a new-ish Patrol, decided to be a bit of a hero and put on a show on the Ring road before.
Traffic flowing smoothly, and he's lane hopping like an idiot, couldn't make up his mind where he wanted to be. His 3L revving it's gaskets off while hes getting absolutely no where. I have no idea what he was trying to prove. Nearly swerved into multiple cars on a many occasions, making them panic and swerve everywhere them selves.
Somebody must have had enough, I didn't see what occurred, but I assume they opened the window and had a crack at him. As his lane was faster flowing ,he slammed on the brakes to slow down to the pace of the driver who had a go at him to retaliate.
Little did he know he had 3 tonnes of another patrol behind him (my car), and I tell you what my car doesn't stop in a hurry. My heart sat in the passenger seat next to me for the next few seconds as I braced for impact, in my mind saying good bye to my family.... and my 4.2 !
Somehow the Patrol managed to pull up in time though. But it would have been quiet an impact, and ultimately my fault for rear ending him. I was shaking in fear and anger so much I forgot to press the button on my dash cam to save the video (video loops every 3 minutes). So so so pissed off I didnt capture that !
It was the first time I've ever used the brakes in this fashion on the Patrol. ABS worked....But now I have a solid ABS light on after that, while the car is running.

I take it a new pair of undies for everyone.
Is your footage on a SD card?
If so it wouldn't record over till the card is full. The 3 minute loop is just a 3 minute video. Some have a sensor that lock the file after impact, I know that you didn't hit but just the nose dive might be enough to trigger it.
Anyway pop out the card and see what's on it.

How do you get a direct flame in there ?
AB

How do you get a direct flame in there ? My one has a slide out tray accessed from the outside where you can direct ignite whilst someone holds the button in.
When I bought the camper the fridge was only 2 years old and the bloke said it was always a nightmare using the ignition.
He made that access point on the side of the camper for that as well as better ventilation for the fridge as the last one died by not venting properly.
I got lucky with my camper. Old mate sorted all the niggles out.
Hopefully someone else can chimmy in though. Your luck is surely due for a change cobber!

Should put this in the happy thread now but called caravan refrigeration services about the electrolux. He said if i checked the shut off valve was open. Had a bit of a look when i was doing it and didn't see one, but got home had a better look and there it is under a little bash plate and was turned off. Turned it back, tried the fridge, lit first click! ! Felt a little silly but mostly very happy.
Called YV 4wd about the steering box, the place that does them is in Wonga Park, pretty close so will take it directly there. Slight pain but should be relativity easy fix in vehicle, so not to bad. ☺

I only have myself to blame for this. I bought a new Sutton 25pce drill bit set a month or two ago. Cost me around $130 or so. Only used two drill bits twice since. I always leave it sitting next to my drill press in the garage. They never move. I go to use it today and its gone. I have just spend the last two hours turning the garage up side down looking for them. My only assumption here is when a customer has come to pick up some parts, I was in the garage at the time and they have seen the opportunity and swiped them when I wasn't looking.
So bloody angry at myself for trusting anyone.:furious: One of the drawbacks of working from home I suppose. So now I have to use my sh!t set...

Driving the Newell Hwy from Melbourne to Coonabarabran NSW and wondering why such a major freight route still passes through many lovely small country towns makes me angry.
I feel for the people who live close to the Newell as I spent a short night less than 200 m. from it to have a break. Its like an endless freight-train passing your front door.

I wouldnt touch the idle screw it should be controlled by the ecu. I would be checking sensors and wiring. We recently had issues with our 01 323 which was a failed knock sensor. You can flash codes out of these easy enough as well.
This is all assuming it is fuel injected.

yep fuel injected nope no codes been there already, trying to make the idle bypass work in a different rage to see if it has a bad spot. but saw a steady stream of bubbles coming out the rad over flow bottle.... oh and the hunting is intermittent and only happens when you slow and stop 3 or 4 times...

Well what a farked trip..
So car hit limp mode.
Adelaide hills, 19 psi boost, just breaking 400c egt, fuel was about 20L/ hour but that's normal..
And it just hit..
Fuel shot to 35L/ hour, and she died..
Tried the foot off reset but no good..
Had to pull over and shut down..
All good.. next will, 5th again but 100k/h this time..
Same thing..
So pull over, reset..
Got threw the hills by knocking back to 4th for the inclines..
I'd assume the ecu is cracking the shits as it'll be wanting to knock back boost and increase fuel for the hills..
But tillix is holding it at 19..
So I'm going back to 16 psi today..
See how it goes on the way home..

Strange that I have the same Patrol as you and have a 3 inch exhaust and I just let the car control the boost and have never had a problem.

Dont forget to disconnect battery to erase any old memory
sounds weird IMO but 19psi could be a tad high for your set up
So a Tillix is just another brand name for a Dawes valve??

Happy, nervous but angry lol... News just in.
Got the papers today for my procedure on 25th so I won't be in a condition to drive up to Licola and have a good time without being pumped with antibiotics etc... I had to accept the date otherwise I'll be waiting for many months. So had to pull out of Licola trip regretfully.
The procedure won't be as severe as initially predicted, but nonetheless it'll be enough to throw me around, and definitely won't be in condition to drive up there 5 days after the process.
Spewing but it is , what it is.
Just saw a specialist. Slightly alarmed when he saw my xrays. My Maxilla (front facial bone holding upper teeth) isn't in good nick and he want's surgery ASAP to pump hardening "stuff" in there. As early as 22nd of this month, otherwise it's a wait until november.
This may put my licola trip in jeopardy. Not happy but health takes precedence .

Wouldn't be too hard to do damage to me Darren. There is a reason I've been avoiding fights all my life. One light knock to frontal fascia would more then likely shatter everything and send sharp bits straight to the brain and game over.

It's more like a glass face then a jaw. The bone in question is the maxilla, which is the bone holding the upper teeth in place and sits behind the nasal area.
I sort of got diagnosed with it, about 15 years ago. It's a calcium deficiency to that area, making it very weak.
It baffled dentists and surgeons for a while as my bottom teeth are perfect and they couldn't' work out why. The top teeth are weak and rotting from inside out. Yes, I'm a (and look like ) a Collingwood supporter, due to this.
From younger age, always kept a stringent teeth cleaning process every day, never drank soft drinks etc, but top teeth began cracking etc... And that was a first sign, and then it went downhill from there.
The real issue was, that after they sort of found out what the issue was, NO dentist had the balls to touch or work on my upper teeth, because any decent drill or a tug could literally crack the tooth and the bone it was attached to. So therefore I had issues finding a dentist who was willing to fix cavities etc...
And yeah been living like that ever since.
I eat everything normally and it doesn't affect it at all, but it took a huge toll on self confidence as well, as I began being hesitant to smile due to it. I looked like a crack addict from Footscray.
The infection I copped a few weeks ago is gone due to antibodies, but process is in place now to try and fix this further and will see what the outcome is.

Yesterday actually. Went to get oil for the troll and 2x5ltr bottles were cheaper than one 10 ltr by $20 WTF. I said to the fella surely gotta be wrong, can you check. Nup thats the price. What a dickbrain. The fella that used to be there looked after me well and would have sold it to me for the same price. Anyway i buy 2 containers reluctantly ( i wanted the 10 to put waste oil in), then ask for a filter element. Well RYCO have changed their filter and it doesn't look like the genuine nissan one anymore. So i say nah I'll get one from Nissan, don't want to take the chance, thanks. Dickbrain then wants to argue that Nissan isn't fussy about the filter just the oil?! I say mate youre very very wrong dude. He then tries telling me they meet manufacturers spec and havent changed. Listen to me fella, Ive bought oil filters from you the last 4 oil changes, every 5000k's and that filter is different. So long story short SPRINT AUTO PARTS (HOVE) you've lost 1 customer since youve moved and been bought out, i wonder how many more.
EDIT: Dickbrain also tried telling me the sump plug washer was a fibre washer and not a brass crush washer
