I'm undergoing a rehab program which involves traction twice a week down from 3 times. I've got spurs in my lower back and neck. Basically the spines trying to fuse itself together which we don't want! Anyway next ones Tuesday so just have to suck it up till then

An old paint poll they gave to us (he's a carpenter so has heaps) 2 years later in my shed he comes out with "ow there's my other painting pole..." Took it back..

Stick it to em, do they realise we have more death in our industry them any other industry. More injuries. Etc etc etc.
After nearly seeing a fellow worker fall through the planks on the screens 21 stories high. I think adrenalin saved him and managed to hold on to his life.
For the extra two minutes of set up time to save your life or injury, it just doesn't make sense to risk.
For god sakes we get paid by the hour.

I really hate guys who continually risk their life, others and my life with their stupidity and incompetence.
I especially hate the guys who fock with the apprentices.
I don't mean by getting left handed screwdriver, but by risking their lives and not their own to get a job done.
I see it everyday and I understand.
Good job. Thumbs up.

As a worker on this side of the fence.
Sometimes a more friendly concerned approach, may work better than an aggressive attack. Unless its really warranted. The OHS rep on our site is a laid back guy that always has a solution to what he deems unsafe, and the workers are always quick to act.
I've only been on this site two weeks and I can see a different culture in which the way everyone works. Apart from the stupid few.

So agree Winnie! They've been really pushing my buttons lately. Had things delivered from HK in 3-4 days, waited 8-9 days for stuff from Perth and Brisbane. Kept an eye on tracking and it's been in their depots for days. No idea what's going on.

Anyway leaving it up to his company for disciplinary action.
I told the lad that if he fell yesterday the best thing that could have happened to him was death. Being a quadriplegic or brain damaged shitting and pissing in a bag and being fed through a tube wouldn't be a nice way for a 23 yr old to live out his days. I think the message got through. I was quite as soft on the older blokes in the gang that let him do it and we're happy to sit by and watch.

And I sit here and think WTF! Woulda been nice!

Bloody hell, how disrespectful! You work your ass off all day to provide for your wife and your children and she denies you the right to have bead locks? What a down right farkin disgrace!

Quite annoyed at the boss at the moment. Long story short, a large project we were doing had heaps of setbacks, primarily due to poor organisation. Two of us did what was meant to be a 6week job in just 3 weeks. We had completed everything we were told to do, to the standard we were told was required (above even, cause I actually take pride in my work). All that was left was meant to be taken care of by other people. Come commissioning day, the boss hasn't even orded the gas trains, the sparkies can't connect them up, prevent run the wires because they don't know what parts still have to go on, and the boss finally decides to look up the regulations.

Well, I now have to redo half my work because the regulations have changed.

That was yesterday.

Today, as we're frantically playing catchup, the boss is nowhere to be seen, and I have no clue what's happening. After finally finding out, we hit it hard, didn't have a full lunch break, and did everything we could, smashing out a fair chunk.

When I got back to the shed, the boss asks me where we got to. So I told him. He then proceeds to reply by telling me that I am a lazy $&@&$@, and I need to get my backside into gear, because we are 2days behind and still have heaps to do!

Had to leave the room then and there cause I was about to hit him!

But the real cruncher, is that his disorganisation is the only reason that we are behind in the first place.

I have this huge temptation to wrap a piece of pipe aroun his head!

Sorry about the long read, but man I needed to get that out!

Cheers!

I know how it feels Punderhead, I manage projects putting in radio systems in mine sites, transport companies, councils ect and our boss often cannot understand how hard we work to get jobs done on time because they underestimate what is required. I have often suggested that our boss and salesmen should spend a week working at a mine site so they realize how hard we work.
I spend 80% of my time behind a computer organizing projects but almost always get involved in the installation of large jobs so I keep in touch with what is required.

Cheers guys,

I got the roof patched up myself, luckily had piles of spare tiles under the house. But that was fun in the rain today.
Unfortunately the wardrobe was chockers with kids clothes that all had to be dragged out and washed, but luckily the water mostly found its way out down a loose nail holding up the plaster and strait into the wardrobe so only pooled a couple of ml in the ceiling.
As my 5 month old was sleeping in the room if the plaster had fallen in. Still took two bucket loads of water off the ceiling using a chamois.

GTFO!!!! I DON"T CARE!!!! I have sold too many of these items to even worry about trying to flog of second hand items.
I've had a gut full of Ebay and some of the half wits that get on there. I issues with customers far too often now, mostly from inability to supply correct postal address on their account properly, their inability to read my terms and conditions. Then they have the nerve to demand I send another item tracked and for free!!!! How do these people f!cking remember to breath!!!

Sorry I needed to blow off some steam as I had a great weekend until I had to come home early from it, then I get on my Ebay store to see the said message and two others brain numbing messages of a different kind, also read an email from head office saying my conference I have to attend in Adelaide next week for three days will cost me up to $500 PER DAY!!!! Totally agree, like I said I was in the industry for 20 years. I know how it works. Just when you do something for so long it get tedious and, mind numbing.
How about you stick to avoiding this forum and from bagging others. The crap you leave in here really brings the morale of this place down. Go bloody cry in another forum.

Sook....

I think that is a little hypocritical don't you? First you bag him for bring the morale down then you provoke it further by getting into the name calling.....

There's an older man that likes to walk around our neighbourhood twice a day everyday. Too bloke and I talk to him regularly and he's always asking how the patrol is going because he always sees me out the front working on it. He had served in the raaf in the uk and has seen an atom bomb being detonated.

Just learnt today in the news that he had been bashed by some young thugs around the corner from my house where mine and many other kids like to play. F@cking ropable!!

Not good Parksy but sadly a sign of the times ,
Down here a young lady was bashed on public transport by a group of youths,
NO RESPECT that's what I think, they get it too easy, I Certainly didn't have Playstations and mobile phones as a kid
I was wrapt if I got a plane or ship to glue together and paint. we made our toys, and I'm not that old,
Told my two boys Don't lie ,steal or cheat and respect another persons beliefs and all will be good.
So far its worked

Thats bad mate! Makes you feel like hunting them down and giving them a taste of their own medicine. With a little extra.
To make my day worse, my sister has just been admitted to hospital from a breakdown they told me, because in the last three weeks her husband of 20 years walked out. The stress this has put on her, self, her kids and me and my family, as I have been over there trying to help out. This split has turned real ugly and unfortunately, there will be no winner in this one.
I bloody hope I never have to go through this crap directly myself.

Pasky that's never nice to hear. Hopefully these kids get found out and delt with.. Maybe if you see him tag with him for a few trips, to be sure.

And mudski, never nice seeing family's fall apart. All the best to your sister and the kids. Just being there makes the world of difference.

I'm off to the happy thread now..

unfortunately you are right the kids need a good touchup, when i was a kid the local cop gave you a boot up the bum and when you got home the old man did too and then mum would give you a belt as well, soon learnt after the one and only time i was caught running amuck but not beating old men, if i had done that i wouldnt be here to tell the tale.

I am soooo angry. I had a second hand gearbox and transfer case put in the Old Trol, today. Yes, you heard it, a second hand. I still get a clanging noise when rolling in the lower gears. Same bloody noise!!!! Either the stuffed transfer has stuffed the new diff, or the new case is stuffed, or they put the old unit back in. (I know the mech, so that option is out) But I digress, the bloke at ...... quoted me $840 for the second hand gear box. $420 for the clutch $20 for the seal and $25 for the spigot bearing. Now, the mech was putting the old changed out gearbox into the back of the Trol (or so he says) When the bloke from ......supposedly turned up and said that there is a $400 bond on the gearbox, so it is still there. Not once, in the weeks since I first got the quote, and went in to the store, on no less than 3 occasions did he mention a bond on the gear box. That only happens on an exchange reco!!! Not a freaking second hand unit. Now I know why he wouldn't give me a final amount on Tuesday afternoon. Rant over.

29th August 2013, 10:48 PM
Ok, calmer now, got a full gut and had a hot drink. Has anyone else heard of a bond on a second hand gearbox? If I had of known he was gunna take my old gearbox, I would've driven to Mt Gambier and picked up a complete unit for $1100, from a wrecker.

Yes mate they do it all the time, i personally recommend you get your mechanic to call and tell the supplier to give him another unit coz this one is faulty, and the supplier should pay for labour on the second unit or get the supplier to pay for repairs on the unit he supplied.

You should have a 30 day warranty at a minimum.

Pretty much mate but i would keep the old box till the warranty expires so you have leverage.

There is no way that i am aware of that a transfer case can wreck a diff, happy to be proven wrong but i doubt it. What are the unis like in the tailshaft??
