Would be interested to see that same pump reading after 10lts pumped though? Very strange? Next time I fill I will be having a look at 1lt, 10lts and 100lts. $1.59, $15.90 & $159.

I have called the Australian Wieghts and Measures who will go and test a pump. I called and complained to them aoctober in Geelong. They called me a week later and had done and audit on the pump I complained about and found it to be accurate.

I will be doing that test for sure next time. Will post the pics.

so when i get back to the car Zach calls out the window to me even before i get to the car, "Dad! we have a problem!"

"What mate? quick i have a run away trolley"

"well i accidentally flicked teh fire extinguisher with my foot and it went off!"

"Bloody hell mate! ah well" went to the back of the car and loaded teh shopping in.

Fellow work mate has been on return to work program for a couple of years now after having tendinitis in both hands repaired, got a phone call at dinner time last night saying if he didn't receive a 100% fit for work from the specialist then don't bother coming in Friday...

Well, if he has been not fit for work for a couple of years, plenty of opportunity to rehabilitate, how can they legally keep him if he needs his hands to work.
Unfortunate, but don't think he'll be able to keep his job, unless the doc says so.
But surely he needs an opportunity to make that appointment with the specialist, cos normally they are not easy to get at short notice.
I wish him luck, and hope he doesn't lose his job.

They need to give him reasonable notice, but unfortunately if he is unfit for his normal duties after an extended period they can terminate him.

It sucks for him but 2 years to get better is a long time

I think his only activity restrictions now are limit the long period of hand tool use, so 8 hours on a glider sorta thing.

Anyway yea I would have thought he'd need some sorta notice, nit a call at dinner..

Seems sus to as we are currently undergoing an eba where they wanna screw us, remove our morning smokeo and cut the 20min lunch to 10 and have us work back 10...

They cannot dismiss him because he does not upgrade to PID,s. That is illegal in any state under w/comp. Depending on the state there are rules to let a worker go if they cannot perfor their PID,s and thereare no alternate duties. 2 years after surgery for both hands is not unusual though.

I say 2 years but they did one at a time so he still could carry out duties easier.. So oops were spaced about a year apart. So first hand is about 2 years on and second about 1 year, probably less..

So had a bit more of a chat and there is a bit more to this.
Our jobs have changed hands a little under a year ago, some of you might have heard of GUNNS timber..
Anyway his workcover is under GUNNS, and there is loop hole where the purchasers of the business cam either take on or pay out the employee..
So that's where he is worried..
But the catch is its been nearly 2 years since the take over. So you would assume they have "taken him on"..

Anyway, interesting times ahead..

Yup heard of Gunns, living tin Tas we all have. If they have not got rid of him and he had the 2nd opp while on their watch he would have a pretty good case. As for time frames, most specialists will not give a final until 12 onths after that type of operation. He needs to reach what they deem as MMI or maximum medical improvement. Only then will the Doctor give a final certification. Once he gets to MMI, he can also be assessed for whole person imparement as well.

Next I rang QBE not to talk to my case manager but to his boss, anyway got onto someone who said they would look into it and ring me back. WTF
In 20 odd years since my original injury no one has ever rang me especially QBE, still early in the day so we'll see. He sounded sympathetic to my cause

Walk out of local Coles before to find 3 typical local scumbags all over the car. "Oh were just checking out how you mounted this tent." They got a bit agitated when I told them to get the fark off the car, and secondly it's not a tent. What they were looking at is the awning.
Then I find out, they were the ones who double parked in front of me. Then one of their wives or whatever walks out of the shops with about 10 kids hanging off her, and they all just cram inside this little 80s laser. No child seats or anything, youngest one would have been about 2 I reckon.
I'm thinking to my self how do some people walk this earth on a daily basis. Like seriously... No f*** was given about anybody on this occasion from that lot!

Yeh mate. I beg my self not to visit that joint, but going home from work and the fact it's so convenient , overwhelms me. It's just a hole. What worries me more is the attitude of some parents picking up their kids from the school across the road.... Now that is scary. If I told you some of the stuff I witnessed there during school pick up hours , you'd tell me to get off the hard pills.

Not Good to hear Craig.
Seriously mate, dunno if she's heading to Melbourne or Adelaide but unless she has VCE she will most likely not get a job (Melbourne is no place to be jobless). It is a such a competitive job market that unless you know someone or have completed VCE......put it this way, even at my youngest and most stupid I wouldn't be doing it.
Even apprenticeships are hard to come by ATM and that also still involves some school.

This bit sounds good. If she's at least gonna be looked after, it might not be so bad. Maybe she just needs a bit of space and time to see for herself that it ain't easy? That might be the motivation she needs to do some more study or whatever it is to prepare her for what's next? I think it is pretty tough on young people to know what to do, especially now that any old work doesn't seem to be as easy as it used to be. Before you could just get something for a job. It was usually crap and good motivation to do something more to prepare for something better. Hopefully either with or without work she'll come to find something to motivate her :)

A few weeks back I placed an order for a number of guide books direct with the company. When I went to pay online I noticed that their site automatically selects priority mail, (1 day delivery), It also had regular mail, but for a few bucks more I kept the selection shown.
After 4 days, still no parcel. I contact the company about this via their online contact page. A couple of days later it turns up, and has been sent snail mail.
I then email the company because I paid for priority mail and it was sent regular, also that I had not received a reply from my previous message. The reply was an apology and an offer to send me another booklet of my choice free. A good offer as they are just over $20 each.

It is a small aussie company and the issue was a difference of $3.00 worth of postage. I appreciated the offer but I decided to put a counter offer. I would pay for another book and they pay the postage, a very fair offer. They agreed and said to pay them when I received the book. I assume they trusted me enough to stand by the agreement. A couple of days later the guide book I chose was delivered. I immediately transferred the money into their account, and sent them an email about the transfer and thanking them.

I expected a reply to my email and a thanks or something. I Never got a reply.
Maybe I am old school, but if it were me I would have had replied with a "thanks".
Now I have got that off my chest, I can let it go.

He is fixing or tuning a WRX with a blown engine, and with the biggest exhaust he could weld on it, and as some of you know those boxers with a large exhaust, are like a mining spec rock drill going full ball. The most recent disaster is a huge oil spill/trail all over our court, and leading onto the main street. BA if you trol spins out of control, it's because of a few liters of shell helix all over parklands drive. One of the neighbors rang the cops etc, and was pretty much told to harden up.

Yeh I hate when I get caught behind someone like that and have to be on the brakes entering a freeway when I want to be at 110 so I can merge in properly. What also sh!ts me is those that are in the slow lane and won't move over into the fast lane ( when no one is there ) to allow you to merge in freely.

Have a similar problem turning out of side streets onto our highway here ( 80kph ) dual lanes no one in the fast lane but they stay in the slow lane so you have no change of getting out of the side street and onto the highway and you just have to sit and wait until there is a big break in traffic.

Hmm... Bugger. Would a long reach one make it?

Had to happen first flat tyre, where you ask? in my carport,
how you ask? ,my son Gernied the carport floor blowing old nails everywhere
from when I removed the lattice and replaced with shade cloth,
Now I have to wait till one of my sons changes it for me as its impossible for me to do ATM
Not a happy camper, sometimes they just don't think even though
they have been told a thousand times

Were they meant to pick the nails up after you removed them from the lattice?

Look it could but I would have to fold the entire bag inside out to have it sit flush.

It's hard to explain...lol

Basically the labour involved in preparing each bag for the press would be more labour then just sticking your hand down the bag holding the bottom punch and make eyelet.
