Thanks guys apart from my dog it was actually a funny day with great stories told, seeing old friends was amazing!
We had a huge laugh which was a crack up!
The funeral overlapped another and when we finished we all walked outside and there were a heap of people standing there for the next funeral, horrible management but anyways...
The brother of the deceased walked outside and was crying and hugging people and later on at the bar we realised he was hugging the other funeral members and we were pissing ourselves laughing!
That's what funerals should be about. Celebrating!
Was actually a good day!

Of coarse it is.
Headline news is about a dam cricket ball some sandpaper and lynching.
They should be lynching the Victorian Labor Party in the same manner as they are with those cricketers for misusing $388k of taxpayers money.

Paul Murray and most of his mob are about the only 'Journo' I can handle these days.
Absolutely goes all in about the rape of the 2 and 4 year old kids, the theft of taxpayer money, the snivelling gutless pollies and best of all the POS maggots infesting the ABC.
Opened every program this week challenging the ABC and also people who tweeted about the Cricket to also tweet about the pedo's raping kids in the communities.
Mongrel NT pollies haven't even had the guts to resign and the Feds too shit scared to even comment let alone intervene... thank God Matt Cunningham is all over them like a rash.

Half way through my month off, I was booked into a course and adjusted my holiday destinations to accommodate this course, only to find it was canned due to lack of numbers. I've rebooked and hopefully it will happen when they say it will be.

Think my turbo is shot (08 GU CRD), a squeal noise like fan hitting metal cowling has come on suddenly.
Run max boost around 21psi, Good spool. Good EGTs (ecu remap). Can stop noise on fly by slowing spool (open needle from 0.6 to 2 turns).
Thought possible a leak on the boost side or turbo. After ruling out boost ducting and hoses, I removed the air inlet ducting at turbo flanged alloy elbow, and with the engine revs @ constant 1200 RPM with needle valve closed (no boost measured), picked up a constant metallic squeal noise coming from inside the inlet throat of the turbo (opened needle 1.6 turns noise stopped)?
Going out to remove elbow off turbo inlet see what's the go (wear). Not happy

Hey Bidja. Have a read of my first post, in my thread here from a few years ago. It was on my 2009 CRD.
I also could have sworn black and blue that it was a metallic sound... Mine sounded more like it had sand in the snail under boost.
Long story short mine ended up being a cracked EGR pipe, behind the motor near the turbo.

Thanks Hodge, for comment. My EGR plate fitted at exhaust manifold. Just got the alloy elbow off the turbo inlet side, so cramped up in there (top bolt / block side) what a stuff around.
I am fitter & machinist by trade (now so log ago) so have a reasonable good feel for clearances. I recon I have .010-.015" (thou) side slap in the comp wheel shaft assy, cannot detect any thrust (end play) clearance. Maybe with increased spool (higher comp whl speed) harmonics or frequency increase causes comp whl to run-out and clips bore face of turbo housing. No physical evidence of scrap but early days and maybe just polishing phase as components are of good finish for the moment. Asking around for replacement turbo not much knowledge on suitable types. ECU Remap last Nov, eng done 125,000ks moves well (owned since new)..

Several years back I built floor to ceiling deep shelving down one wall of my carport with the intention of storing all my camping gear etc in it.
I have never had the use of this shelving as it is full of my kids stuff even though they have moved out.

I use it for a few other forums and it's fine, but the last day or so it freezers and goes back to the main (start) page. Only happens with this forum and not always, twice last night and again this morning.
Anyone else having issues. Might be time to get the paid version but it's got me stumped as it only happens on this forum not others.

When they had fixed the plate, they are left a space between bones. So the plate plays a little bit during regeneration.

F*****g f**k.
Someone's hit me from the rear while I was parked up for 15 minutes.
F****d the large barn door, they hit the left hand side of the spare tyre, and pushed it into the door, and sort of caved the door a little bit inwards. Peeled the outer trim off the door as you can see in photos. My dash cam even registered the impact and it triggered its self on, but whatever / whoever hit me didn't go past the car for the camera to capture it.
Looks like I'll be after a rear RHS barn door.

I had to get an internet connection to a client in Geelong who couldn't get anything. They were in a 4G area. I managed to sign them up to an Optus 4G data only plan, it was either 70GB for 80/month or 80GB for $70 a month?????
Got them a 4G router for in the house ($130) and they could all share that 4G connection, worked very well.

My misses had someone hit our car in a shopping centre carpark a few years back and fortunately my misses was just walking back to the car as it happened, the guy wouldn't give her his details at first but another guy in the carpark helped and made him.

Anyways quick gum tree and $170 later i have a replacement door I perfect Nick including the bracket.
I had to act quick as door was fully gonna leak inside and spare wheel wasn't stable.
Shit scenario to be in.
Whoever done it and took off is a C**** act.
However ... Looking at the car from outside you cannot tell there is any damages unless you look at door alignment . The obvious damage is evident when door is opened.
So.. there is a tiny chance they possibly looked at car saw nothing and drove away...

Yeah quick gumtree search and 20 minute drive and back I had a door.
If my bumper was a tad damaged, would have been a different story.

The Sydney Barber getting sued for refusing to cut a girls hair as he doesn't do female hair has really pissed me off. A female lawyer took her daughter to the barbers and he refused to cut her hair and said he is not qualified so the bloodsucking bitch is now suing him for discrimination. Sounds to me like she set him up to sue him.
Why is it ok to have female only hair saloons, female only gyms and even a funeral home that only employs females but as soon as anything is male only it is discrimination.
The anti discrimination laws in Australia are discriminating against men!

Yes - all anti discrimination laws are rediculous in that they categorise a partucular type or trait and automatically discrimate against all that do not fall into that category. its all theatre anyway as you cannot make a law that stops people being against some colour or type, only prevent them saying so.

Yeh Bob, always looking for smaller bit of hose. Last yr was going thru the compost just under the top layer of mulch (4m long trench) and felt this warm like hose slide across my palm of hand. Yep one wanting to lay her young ones (viviparous) in there. Thank goodness for the rubber gloves, hell of a start I tell ya. No where to go and she tried to hide, don't think it was a fun time either side ...

Not only that but they will happily pull your 3.5 tonne van day in and day out without any reliability issues at all and this then leads to how grouse the veedubs Amorok motor is and how reliable they are with no reliability issues , so a quick google search and oh my they do indeed have trouble don't they .
Also a shot at Nissan for our perceived bias against four potters .

Yeh the Red belly blacks behavior is very different to the eastern browns, of which we have plenty of both, no tigers. Saw a red belly couple of months ago, really moving out, in hot persecute of a brown on the track from our dam and appeared they did not notice me at all.. Was if I was not there. ..Don't trust browns, they tend to suss you out, where the black just want to get out of the way and on with their business.

Ours comes from a tower (wireless) behind us about a Kay away and was quick at first but as they've added more and more customers it's got slower and they have a problem with the local wildlife eating through the cabling .
Because we're in the sticks and now don't have a landline it doesn't matter who I buy my internet thru nothing will change.
I was told tower was for about a hundred homes but the NBN have expanded that so much we will always have trouble .

11am. I get an email and sms stating item has been delivered. Strange, as everyone was home and item must be signed for, so it can't have been delivered.
Just in case, I thought I'd check outside. Nothing, nobody, no parcel or card left.
I waited 10 minutes then rang up the Auspot people. On their system Item has been delivered and signed for just before 11. Address was correct. Their guess is, it was dropped off at the wrong address.

Angry? Mmmm p'raps .......... more like pissed off 'cos of the inconvenience.
I'm replacing the front wheel bearing seals & re-packing the bearings. Did the passenger side yesterday - all good.
Went to remove the driver side wheel this morning & couldn't undo one wheel nut (with air rattle gun). Jammed solid on the stud after 2 or 3 turns.
Reverted to wheel brace - could do it back up, but jammed the same each time I tied to undo it. Then the stud snapped off - only using the wheel brace.
Bugger - no longer have a second car, pissing down with rain, no spare studs.
On the upside at least it broke when undoing it & not when doing it up after doing the bearings & seals. Also better here than out in the bush.
So wheel back on, drove into town on 5 studs & bought a new one plus a couple of spares.
Looked at youtube as I've never replaced a wheel stud before. They all show blokes advocating belting the broken stud with a hammer whilst the hub is still on the vehicle. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I reckon the shock from the hammer blows probably wouldn't do the wheel bearings a lot of good. Gotta take the hub off anyway & besides it looks like the disc rotor will need to be unbolted to get the new stud in, so I'll wait until the hub's off before knocking it out. Fingers crossed it'll come out easily!
I'm guessing the problem is the aftermarket chrome wheel nuts I've got - guessing that some chrome may have peeled off inside the nut & jammed up the thread. Grrrrr.
Oh well, the car should have 'drip-dried' by now, so back into it.
4bye4
11th May 2018, 01:40 PM
Store the new studs in the freezer while your getting the old ones out..Makes it easier to tap em in. Also heat the hub up near the hole - like with a hair dryer not a blowtorch.

My wife and I had our 20 week ultrasound on tuesday, all was well untill the end of the scans. baby is 100% good. The wife had an operation 6 years ago which has negatively affected a crucial womans bit. seems she could potentially go into to labour pre-term. so then the mad run around, trying to organise docs appointments and then today an emergency op, which we were told on tuesday would be just about an hour surgery ended up being in for the whole day. thankfully everything has worked out and we have not lost the baby but by christ it has been a stressful week.

Kallen, share your sorrow, mine not quite as crap.
Last week, trip up to ecpt to attend to needs of myCRD, fit procharge stage 3 turbo to replace stock, as squeal noise happening and thought it was comp whl against housing. Took along new exhaust manifold gasket for install as so far in anyway.
Yeh, exhaust manifold shield hx hd bolt rounded off trying to remove, running out of shop time so left manifold as looking ok. Installed turbo and fired it up and bugrrrr noise still there, strip down again (2 failed exhaust manifold studs) easy out the broken studs and 3mm machine off mating face, then all back together again $$$$$$. And cracked egr pipe, but mine blocked both ends..HaHa
Need more work to achieve improved low down torque (Big exhaust wheel bit laggy low down).
Hey do you know what the CRD stock turbo actuator inches of mercury (vac) to hold lever up against stop? , doing adjustment to actuator rod length (reducing) to keep veins closed longer to bring spool and boost on around 1800-1900rpm, Getting improvements as I play with actuator, boost 21psi @ 2000 rpm, max B 23psi @ 2250rpm / max 150rwhp & 370 N-m. Posted up story on ZD warriors but no feedback yet...

Yeah I was wondering that as well.
I reckon if you get something else, it's just a matter of time before something on that needs fixing. No vehicle is perfect. The only way I reckon you can limit your grief is to just fix stuff when it breaks and replace stuff with stuff that is better than the broken stuff.

What's next then, a nice D4D Prado?Fk that dont want to downgrade
Posted up story on ZD warriors but no feedback yet...Sorry mate I have NFI. But hopefully someone can help you on the zd page
Why sell it after all the hard work has been done?
Yeah I was wondering that as well.
I reckon if you get something else, it's just a matter of time before something on that needs fixing. No vehicle is perfect. The only way I reckon you can limit your grief is to just fix stuff when it breaks and replace stuff with stuff that is better than the broken stuff.Trust is gone.
But it probably wont be sold.
6 months ago we had a good amount of disposable income so repair was a go if needed.
However now it's not as flush so cant really afford a new engine.. luckily mine is still under warranty for 6 more months..
Also I thought a new colarado was within reach with some mates rates and a private sale with a small loan but alas that wont happen either..

Had that with mine - warped manifold - local machine shop machined it , id already blocked EGR on drivers side as easier to get at but while manifold etc was off I blocked the other side - I figured it was still getting pressurised as it was blocked at other end so could potentially still crack & whistle .....

Interesting and confusing ,noticed the guy who reviews cars paying out on Holden and then picks the Colorado in the top three ute category in oz ,also the Ranger got the nod but I'm sure their past 27 recalls so reliability would be a big question there .
No way I would spend $50+K on a new fourby piece of crap designed to spend more time being fixed at the dealer than on the road , I'd rather spend the $$$ on modifying a mint early GU .

Son was just saying their fleet Colorados use two litres of oil per 1000 kilometres and have been told it's normal which sounds like typical dealer speak for every problem .

Yeh, good idea to block both ends, for exactly that reason.
I blocked mine only at exhaust manifold first, but read somewhere that if that the EGR assy water jacket failed, there is a likely hood of water being sucked into inlet manifold. Not likely with good ECU remap and turning off egr function but rather be safe than sorry. I also wondered if the open orifice at exhaust manifold could cause turbulence and impact on exhaust gas flow in dump pipe. Maybe only theatrical but I won't be doing any wind tunnel experiment to find out as I don't have to... lol)

But he and dad have one which both have been issue free for the first 100k.
My new work ute is also a colarado and it's a 1t ute so rough but dam they pull hard..
About 8lph and not a drop used in the first 10 thou I've had it lol.

That motoring "expert" did say that the Colorado was one of the three best Utes on the market in 2018 so maybe the newer models have been changed / fixed whatever not sure about the model the guy had the second engine in ,remembering that Nissan had some trouble with motors earlier on and although some went bang quite a few are still ticking along just fine .

Thought the wife had grown tired of the pillow quest, but no, arrived home after a week away and eleven new pillows on the bed. I don't get it. They don't do anything, just sit there taking up space, on top of the new Doona cover that you can hardly see.
Heading off in the morning for another week away - no idea what the next epic change will be next week! Women.

Oh god don’t get me started on pillows / cushions , they’re half way down the bed !!!!! I’m usually only in bed for 4-5 hrs so spending 10mins moving / stacking bloody ornaments just so I can get in does my head in , I either bulldoze them across to her side or just throw them all into the floor on her side so she has to deal with it when she comes to bed - I love her but my god these pillows 😤😤😤💪🏻

Problem = Excessive number of Pillows.
Solution = Borrow my German Shepherd.
Method = leave bedroom door open and turn your back.
He LOVES pillows, well not so much the pillow but reducing them to their component parts, which he can accomplish in approx 3.5 milliseconds.
He also likes to 'skin' tennis balls but I digress.
Risks = Do NOT let anyone else feed him, his allegiance to Adults is very fickle and revolves almost entirely around food.
The property of whoever feeds him becomes sacrosanct and he won't destroy it.
Also, keep him away from small children, he won't hurt the children indeed they are perfectly safe.
But, after a suitable warning of growls and snarls, he'll certainly practice his Pillow Discombobulation Skills on any Adult (Parent or not) who continues to try to approach the Kids (which is piss funny to watch down the local Park).
All the locals love him and Kids are perfectly free to go to an Adult but not the other way around... try it and shit gets real.

Tell you this, I had a D40 Navara before the Patrol. Not a bad ute but, they could bend in half, timing chains break, front diff is a weak point. All these damn lightweight utes have their own problems, if it's not one thing it's another. Same with just about any vehicle.
I reckon the best thing is to buy an older vehicle $20K, something that has had all it's gremlins found out. The spend another $30K bullet proofing it. That's about the only way I can think you'll end up with something good.
Also, the ride in the Patrol was so much more comfortable than the D40, also a much more capable vehicle offroad.
I reckon if you want something reliable, you should get a 1HD Toyota something, those old diesels are bullet proof, but not very powerful.

My thoughts exactly 10G , we've put it off for another year or so but are getting an ADC Duramax conversion in the GU along with a GVM upgrade all up cost will be more than the average ute but it won't exactly be average in capability and with the couple of bugs and a reco on the LBZ I'm confident it will pay back in spades .

Drove into a tyre place today to get a slow leak fixed, only to find the security wheel nut remover was missing - last used by another tyre place to instal new tyres 3 months ago. Had to drive an hour round trip to a dealer to get one then arrived back at the original tyre joint only to find they had shut up shop early - not my day today!

Bloody ebay seller ......... messaged him to check he had the ipad MrsTea wants in stock. Yes he says. 20 minutes later I pay using Paypal. 5 minutes later I get a message to say that he didn't have the stock after all & would cancel the sale & refund me. No offer of delaying supply or of a different colour etc. Refund minutes later. Ebay code gave 5% discount & I reckon he didn't want to sell for that. Paypal & Ebay both tell me I have been refunded but now I have to wait for the money to get credited back into the card I have linked to Paypal. Seller's ad says he has 'more than 10 in stock.
Anyone know how the ebay discounts work? Wouldn't sellers have to be aware of them when advertising? Hope the whole transaction wasn't some sort of scam. Ebay & Paypal look legit but the debit card I use online still says the transaction is pending & I'm guessing it will be at least a couple of days before the bank deigns to put the money back. Can't help feeling that there might be room to move in there somehow for the bad guys.
Suggest this seller be avoided. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Apple-iPad-9-7-6th-Gen-With-Free-PROPER-iPad-Case/202251679370?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=502215581266&_trksid=p2057872.m2748.l2649

When I bought a phone a month ago I placed a high bid of $140 and ended up getting it for $130 due to being the highest bidder , I'd be pissed if it was me selling it and missed out on the extra $10 but as a buyer I was happy .

Have since learned that Ebay covers the discounts not the seller ........... so I'm now guessing stock was not in the same place as the seller may have accounted for him not knowing what he had & didn't have, which makes sense seeings the ad gave a NSW address & the Seller was as it turned out, in Vic. Whatever ..... not a good way to do business.
Have also read that Paypal are renowned for being slow in putting efunds back into buyers accounts - apparently 5 days is common.

My FIL sold some gold coins on flea bay. The winner was in America so he posted with insurance and tracking etc.
the buyer signed and picked them up, then claimed he didn’t receive the item. PayPal took the money from the sale back off my FIL and he was trying to dispute it but found the process very hard when you can’t actually talk to someone. He eventually gave up and lost $1500.00 yet someone scored some free coins

Get an SMS today that they missed us, and they left a note on the door step. Ok. Sweet.
SMS said to send them an email with the parcel #, to re-deliver.
I get home, no note left. I enter the parcel # onto their tracking page and what do you know!? They attempted a delivery last Thursday too . Although that time, No note left, no SMS, no email , nothing... How was I to know about it ?
Call them up earlier, after ages on the waiting line I get through. She speaks next to no english with a rude attitude, telling me that I should be home on the day of the delivery .
