Was cooking schnitzels and slipped out of the tongs before it was in the pan properly splashing oil onto my finger, aching pain for 3-4 hrs, blistered up a little.
Put a thick band aid on it, to protect it a little at work, all good.
Took the band aid off and all the skin came off with it.
Ouch.

didnt you run it under cold water for 1/2 hour to get rid of heat minimizes damage I had it under cold water straight away for about 5 mins and the pain was getting to the point of being unbearable and straight onto ice packs for the next 4 hours. I kept melting the ice packs and was swapping them every hour or so. I did the normal icing procedure of on,off,on,off but I couldn't hack the pain of the burn with no ice pack for a couple of minutes. I literally slept with an ice pack wrapped around my finger.

How bad is this, just got home today and our friend is in hospital with severe head injuries and they just put him in an induced coma, not looking good!!!

He went to a 3 year olds birthday party with his wife for someone in their mothers group.

The home owners bought their brother who is a sicko and our friend was literally sitting on a chair minding his own business and this bloke flipped out for no reason, grabbed a baseball bat and repeatedly batted his head until other party goers stopped him!!!

Yeap I dumped them this year for very poor service.
On the Cape trip my van was side swiped by a motor home, at the time the other party admitted liability several times in front of witnesses. I come home to a notice from his insurer denying responsibility and advising me they will assess his damages and claim on my insurance. I ring my insurance and after trying to explain what happened the peanut says I'm probably at fault as I was in the process of overtaking.
Six months after the event I get a quote of nearly $5000, the idiot clipped the last 25cm of my van and did minimal damage. He had a scratch on his clapped out converted bus.
I disputed this with my insurance company, they weren't interested as they said it was not unusual to get the quotes that long after. They were not interested in my witnesses as they only heard him admit liability and did not see the actual accident. I offered to go to court but they said they would not cover my legal expenses etc.
Long story short I was out of pocket $500 excess and lost my no claim rating with them.
Lucky my other car was insured by RACV and they kept my rating when I transferred back to them for the Patrol.

Going over this has really pi55ed me off again, steer clear of them - the Ar5eholes.

Hey Megomonster

After having a few surgeries on a couple of fingers severing nerves I can tell you please rub Vaseline or none perfumed moisturiser on it regularly to help keep it moist and also keep mobility in the skin to allow for stretching and flexibility

This is a pic of one of my finger that was operated on 9 years ago. You can still see the stitch marks. But I have full mobility and no feeling in it at all. By putting Vaseline on every day helped keep it able to straighten and bend it fully.

Yeah that's gonna sting for a while. I smashed my little finger four weeks ago with a rubber mallet and broke the tip of my finger. Then the next day using the same mallet I just managed to clip the end of my pointer finger and the tip popped like squashing a grape. Couldn't stop the effer from bleeding too.

You would know if you have nerve damage if you prick below the cut it would feel like someone barely touching you, I've got it down the left side of my left leg from a climbing accident

Hmmm, about and inch or two around the cut is totally numb. She'll come good I hope:)

With your finger if it's a sensation nerve it more feels like electric shock through your hand of you bump it or poke near the wound.

I cut mine close to 10 years ago and even after they stitched all the nerves back together I still have no feeling in my left index finger.

Used to really gross some people out, the nerves in his forearm had been cut.

Yeh I'm pretty pissed about it considering it was stripped back fully and resprayed, the job originally was from poor work done over 13 years ago when I rolled my 4b on its side and it needed respraying.

Not sure if the insurance company will come 2 the party considering its rust and not a fault with the paint itself.

Hey Toddie, that happened to me a few years ago. I drove it into the place that did the work and told the guy very nicely that it had bubbled. He was shocked. I'm contemplating extending the home loan and getting a decent family car but that will put me into a really crap position for repayments.

Or keep on going with this considering it has a new reco tranny and many other goodies that have been fixed in the last 3 years.

Or buy another shipbox and potentially have more problems.

The last thing I want is something urgent and the car won't start or she gets stuck on a branch.

In response to yesterday's "what made you happy" thread, the swag I bought that was already on pre-order for late September was over sold and now estimated for November. Means I won't have it for cup weekend trip.

Now for the big decision - refund and buy a much more expensive swag, get their king single or get their queen. All options essentially are an inconvenience for their own reasons :(

When I was in china our supplier took us to a very high end massage place...yes...legit massage place...lol

Funny thing was my toe nails were curling over my toes and they were all gossiping about the state of my feet with blisters and pretty much gobsmacked by the size of my feet...lol

Long story short this Chinese lady did a head massage and literally pushed her thumbs hard into my temple and pretty much pinned my face down with her elbows on shoulders so I couldn't move.

The pain was intense, all I could say was farrrk...farrr...Farr...farrrrrrk and I literally had to push her away from me, that was not fun and I literally felt sick the next day with a raging headache.

I reckon she pushed and damaged some nerves or something as that was not fun for anyone and no way she was properly trained...lol

A good physio will be able to get it. I pulled my siatic nerve earlier in the year, my physio spent some solid time stretching and massaging all the affected area. Holy crap it hurts when they a massaging your arse but damn it feels good after.

Nobody loves me, everybody hates me
Think I'll go and eat worms
Long ones, short ones, fat ones, thin ones
See how they wriggle and squirm

I bite off the heads, and suck out the juice
And throw the skins away
Nobody knows how fat I grow
On worms three times a day
Ohh...nobody loves me.

I'm not angry but very sad and emotional and can't stop crying this morning. What a sook I'm am today. I miss my dad so much, and wish every day that he would come back.
So many fishing trips we organised to go on after he retired.
Barra up north, snapper in whyalla, a week on Nomad sport fishing on the Coral sea but soon after he retired, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told he would die in 6 week, which he did.

So nearly every fishing trip I go on, is a dedication to my father, to which a tear falls nearly every time.

I know how you feel MEGOMONSTER, I did not realise just how much time I use to spend talking with my father till he was not there to talk to. We had a rough patch in my late teens but we became very close after I calmed down and I miss him terribly some days.

Not so much angry as NOT happy.

Four weeks ago I woke in excruciating pain, enough to have me rolling on the cold bathroom floor. Quick trip to hospital and a couple of morphine doses found me comfortable enough to have a CT scan which confirmed I had a 7mm kidney stone stuck just outside my left kidney. Because of the location I went on a course of medication for two weeks to try to get it to move into a safer position for removal. The medication was made up of some potent pain killers and something to relax and expand my ureter. Other than make me nauseous and light headed for about six hours each day it didn't help move the stone.
Last week I had another CT scan, Xrays and another barrage of tests and the stone hasn't moved at all. Now I'm booked in for surgery this Wednesday and still on the medication.
Still not sure what option they will use, I'll find out after the CT scan on the morning. Looks like whatever option they use I'll have a stent installed for a fortnight and the removal of that is going to be a whole different experience.
In life I've been pretty much bomb proof, only real surgery I've had was the removal of my appendix (removed at 7:30pm and went home next day at noon). Been looking forwards to the meetup on Saturday and I'm staying positive that I'll be out of hospital and able to attend on the Saturday afternoon.

Yep I have lived that a couple of times. I went to the Simpson with a 6mm stone!! I passed the 6mm stone between Birdsville and Broken. Hill.

About 5 years ago I had an 8mm stone removed via surgery. They blasted it . I had the stent for 2 weeks too.

So this is how it will go. You will wake up happy ;) the Stent is like having a Biro in your bladder. When it's full it's not bad but you can't hold on and when you need to go you need to go NOW! As your bladder empties the Stent will dig into the side of the emptying bladder. Suxs Balls!

The removal is done without anesthetic and you will go in, they will insert the "go get her" thing and grab hold of the end of it and just pull it out!! Quickly. Like taking off a bandaid. I can tell you for free, you will need to sit down for a bit after that! Big breathes.

I can certainly appreciate the pain you felt. It's horrible.

I have ongoing slight and sometimes severe pain as I have a number of smaller stones jiggling around in there. Joy.

Good luck with it mate.
