Yes it does. Using a loader to pick up the wood all the small stuff is naturally on the bottom. Next time I will ask them to pick the first load up and then dump it on top, and then pick up from the bottom again.

I can confirm the ALDI drill mounted pump doesn't like thicker fluids.
It struggles. And the shaft going into the drill is perfectly round and stainless so add a bit of oil and you've got no traction.
Unless you like friction welding .
MBs idea worked 300ml at a time ...

I use a long length of hose for the gear box, running up from the filler and into the engine bay, then with a funnel jammed in the hose. Then I just pour in until it over flows.

I bought a large plastic syringe what holds about 150ml and has a large dia outlet, maybe 4mm dia. I have used this on occasion to fill that last level point without having the fluid overflowing or ending up with the messy volume in the transfer hose. It works best when the oil is warmish, but when its thick and cold the effort to empty is significant especially in awkward spots. Its worth hunting down one of these I reckon as you can fill an entire gearbox with it, takes a while, but its very small, perhaps 30mm dia and 150mm long, and dead robust simple. It works with any fluid and just needs a simple flush out to reduce cross contamination.

I get a load of Redgum from the local garden supplies and probably 70% of it is tiny pieces. I will burn through this like no tomorrow. Atleast I dont need to split any I suppose.

Most of the suppliers around here prey on the fact that almost nobody knows how crappy the wood they sell is , I've refused loads in the past , son dropped me off a half trailer load of red box that was well seasoned probably over 12 years dead but still attached to the tree so was a massive branch .
I'm still burning it after nearly two weeks and next week I'm going to go looking for some more of this incredible stuff .

Talking to a mate who just got back from a 15000 km round trip to the top end. He had a ripper trip but he was pissed off with the attitude of some of the drivers up on Cape York. He had checked the depth and was steadily crossing a river. The water line was six inches or so below the bonnet, and he was nearly clear of the deepest part, when a tool in a much bigger fourby came tearing down the track and drove headlong into the crossing. The bow wave swamped my mates car and pushed it into deeper water. He was able to drive out and was bloody lucky he had the air vents closed.

Haha, it's not me just reading all the armchair experts rip into a friend of the family who dared to complain about lack of support from Jayco when his 2.5 year old van had a major suspension failure.
This guy is a long time Kimberley local and very experienced 4wder and off-road tourer with various vans. My daughter and family have been on plenty of trips with them and he's a very responsible and careful driver according to them.
The independent suspension failed at a weld on the Gibb River Rd and Jayco don't want to hear about it. His posts on their site get removed so he posted on the Jayco Camper Trailers Owners FB page and he's being hammered.
He's got an Outback Swift and being hammered for driving the Gibb with it etc. why would you expect the suspension to last more than the 12 mth warranty, must have been thrashing it etc etc
I'm happy with our Outback (I tow it with a Patrol) but I reckon he's got a legitimate complaint but many of the other narrow minded owners don't agree and reckon it's his own fault. This from people who've never met the guy or know his driving habits.
RANT OVER (like how I made it Patrol related)

As for Jacks mate. A real bummer that is. FB is full of people who know it all and every detail of the issue that wasn't told, Dunno how they know this but theres some magical thing that must tell them.
I expressed my concern a while back of some dickheads ripping up a campsite on a page, the amount of haste towards me for speaking up was unbelievable. I just removed myself from those pages now. Lifes too short for that shit.

Mate it does have its uses for sure. But there is way too many flogs on there for sure, so you do need to expect negativity to be at the upper end of extreme on particular pages. If you do post something up on any of the 4wd pages, think of the worst possible comment you could ever imagine you might get to your post, then time that by 10000 and your pretty much close.
The collectors pages, like I hang out on, all positives there bud.
Face Book should be called Flog Book IMO.

Don't get me wrong I understand some people have no other choice , like Clunk said. Thats just the way it is. Some people havent got options. And for as I know, Benjamin could have copped what hes got, elsewhere... At shops, outside, you never know.
But this little girl was clearly sick with a flu, or similar and you could tell she hadn't slept well. I dare say it's spread amongst most of class mates. The teachers are annoyed as well. I spoke to one of them and they have no power to refuse a kid at school although one of the rules upon enrolment clearly states if the kid is sick/contagious, please leave them at home or with a relative.

Council has rejected our latest plea, we have 30 days to find 7.8K and get all plumbing repairs done and chase the coin via the courts in our own time! Or face a criminal conviction for violation of a council issue. Yes its a criminal offense! Looks like np.cpm.au will have their first official crim! Fun times ahead.
Seems really stupid though. I have spoken with the council in person. They know whats going on. They know we dont have this kind of money. The guy at the council offices I spoke to understood it when we met up. He was happy with the progress and on what I had done myself without a plumber.
Nek minnut! Get the shiz done or else! And heres me saying to others that the council were actually being nice and understanding. The word I have for them belongs in the pub thread now. They really dont care or understand for the working person do they...

Yeah I dont get it. You would think a higher ticket item one would try to barter. Nope, they just buy it. But they see a cheap sub $10 item, nope! They want it cheaper.
Im not sure how to make your adds or word them, but I see a big proportion of private ads on eBay, gumtree and facebook, which there was clearly zero thought into the wording (item title and description) also photos taken, and these items never sell. This is how I buy my collectables, from others mistakes. A full set of tyres with 95% tread on rims for my Patrol for the price of one tyre, only because their description was that vague. And a collectible wooden Jack Daniels esky, for less than half the going price. Again, a poorly written item description, which made it almost impossible to search for via eBay, and a one sentence description. Both sellers were absolutely dirty on me. Suckers.
If I ever sell an item online, not via my store, I take atleast four clear pics, photos taken with a white or a background with nothing to draw the eye away from the item, put plenty in the description, and neatly, research of what similar items are selling for and note how they sold and how clear their wording is. I've sold stuff on there for double what others were selling for the same item on a few of occasions, just because I took my time.

Cancer . Cancer has made me angry . Good mate of mines' missus died from Cancer Yesterday morning . Been fighting it for a few years , had both breasts off & Christ knows what else , thought she'd beaten it a few times then it came back . She seemed fine on Father's Day then was rushed to hospital on Monday in a lot of pain & died Wednesday morning . Absolute shit . She was a beautiful kind hearted person that did not deserve this at all .
Read this, and realised that what was making me angry was irrelevant and pointless by comparison....
I feel for your mate (and you)..

Existing equipment ok but anything left on shelves beyond next year has to be destroyed or exported back overseas , does not at this stage include chainsaws but that can change at ministers discretion .

No sales after 1st of July 2019 , trying to find out exactly what's covered but I know outboards and whipper snippers and mowers are going to be banned from that date .
Has come about after a push and lobbying from the industry itself mainly marine side of it .

I can't see it happening for chainsaws as there is no viable replacement. Even if a 4 stroke saw came on the market it won't have the grunt. Electric and hydraulic units are not practical for most comparative tasks either.

I wonder how this will effect the likes of ktm. Still a very 2 stroke orientated brand. They have also just released a fuel injected 2 stroke. Maybe it complies. I should say how this will effect ktm sales in that state alone as ktm itself wont really be effected but if their 2 strokes dont comply it could hurt the dealers. Even stihl dealers could feel the pinch.

Not true, it will effect pretty much everything 2 stroke, as it targets everything non-road.......
From the environment websitee
"The Australian Government is working to introduce national emission standards for non-road spark ignition engines and equipment (NRSIEE), such as garden equipment, generators, pumps and marine engines. By regulating the import and supply of high-emitting NRSIEE in Australia, air pollution from these products will be reduced and significant health benefits will be realised.
The Update Paper provides an update on how the new emission standards will be implemented, including their linkage to international standards, when they are likely to come into force, which NRSIEE products they will apply to and what requirements will be placed on importers and suppliers of these products to the Australian market.
The paper also aims to raise awareness of the incoming emission standards so that businesses and individuals can be prepared when they come into effect. This includes suppliers who will need to ensure they are sourcing compliant models."

If it is industry driven, then it is all about selling us more crap. Like banning incandescent bulbs and forcing us to buy over-price, mini flouros that cause more environmental damage to manufacture, then die a premature death and poison us when broken.
The way I would do it, is to design the chain oil to act as a lubricant for the bearings then onto the chain. Maybe inject a tiny bit for the rings.
Heard it here first folks, gimme some money if you decide to patent the idea. LOL

OK for gearboxes but an internal combustion engine always has a minute amount of carbon escape past the rings on each firing stroke. That is why the oil eventually goes black.

Combine that and the ringless design where they use air pumped through the cylinder into a system of ports that cause a vortex to seal in the combustion gasses and no two stroke oil is needed to lubricate the moving part or bore. Except they would need to provide some oil for the bearings and spline that transfers the crank energy to the flywheel or output gear.

Yeah our HWS died soon after we bought the place. I did the ring around and quotes were from $1100 to $1400! WTF! for a remove and refit? So I did the research, found a local plumbing supplies actually had the new version on my unit on special, usually $899, they had it for $700. So I bought it, took it home and fitted the fecker myself. Two wall support brackets, and three fittings need to be undone and then done up in total. Took me about an hour to do.

There are loopholes in the legislation and if a manufacturer has a range of equipment as long as the average meet emission standards some can be over .
They are doing EFI now in two strokes but it comes at a cost both in purchase and extra servicing .
PeeBee
18th September 2017, 09:46 PM
I suspect they are losing revenue from correspondence outside of their control and review. Makes it very hard sometimes to find out about something without talking to the seller/buyer I reckon. I have been cleaning out my garage and getting rid of multiple items I have and stuff I have bought for some obscure reason and never used. Sone gear is so complex and unique that a discussion is really needed for people to understand what it does or how it does it - cutting this down to a classified results in zero opportunity in my view. I don't know how you stop the backyard side deals though, and its important for this advertising platform to get their just revenue - I certainly don't mind paying the clip as they have provided a wide audience - they just need to open the channels of allowable communication somehow. I do feel though for commercial vendors like you though Mark as this is a total chore.

Wonder how long it will be before they ban the 2 stroke oil. Bloody city based government. By the time you factor in the mining, refining, manufacture, packaging, transport, storage, retail and the petrol needed to pick up and return with the new equipment, I think we would be making a way bigger carbon footprint in the end.

60 tonnes of log truck 1/4 over the middle coming around a bend on a narrow stretch of road doing 100+ on the way to work. Mentioned to him that he may like to slow down for the bends, but according to me I was the one with the problem. F'kn asswipe.

We have just been told it will be a min of $3500 to change the head gasket and have the head done up. They say they won’t touch it unless we get the head reconditioned [emoji30]
Son is devastated as he only got to drive it 10 minutes and he paid $8500 for it and doesn’t have another $3500 to spare
If you drive it under 100 the temp doesn’t rise past half way. It’s only when it’s underload it overheats grrrr

It’s a 2.8 GU patrol. Went to drive it down to swap the rego over and 10 min down the road going up a hill the temp gauge went to 3/4. Pulled over immediately and all looked good, no water gushing out and overflow bottle full. Temp went back to normal as soon as we stopped. Continued to Beaudesert and all seemed good. Stopped at a mechanic who diagnosed faulty head gasket.
Son is distraught seeing his 2 years of saving for his first car now going to cost another $3500 and he goes for his license on Monday and now he doesn’t have a car. Good news the mech will let him pay off the repairs. The previous owner said it’s our fault for allowing the car to over heat wtf
As if we had a choice , plus the mech found traces of a sealant(silver flakes) like a product called Fibre lock in the system, sus or what?

Not angry just disappointed. My daughter and son-in-law saved for 2 yrs to do a trek to Everest Base camp. They made it to 4100m then both had to be helicopter evac'd due to altitude sickness, virus and gastro. Bloody shame to not make it to their goal of circa 5200m, but they are both recovering in hospital in Katmandu and trying to sort out insurance covers /claims etc to get well enough to then catch alternate flights home. I hope the insurance cover they bought stacks up, as it wasn't cheap.

When I worked at BHP in the city, a guy there, think he was a geologist, was training for Everest. We all worked above the 10th floor, most on around 20. He always took the stairs everytime he had to go somewhere always the stairs. Lost a few toes & fingers and didn't make it to the top. Poor bugger, but what memories.

Dunno if them Sherpa dudes could carry enough meat for Chewy so he wouldn't snack on 'em.
If I did go I would be hiring a Chopper for a flight and a 30 second stop at Base Camp for a piccy and then back to Lukla or Kathmandu
Plenty of Ghosts up there tho and I wouldn't want to join them (I think 5 died in the climbing season this year alone and they can't get them all out).
Poor buggers, their remains would be higher up than Base Camp tho.
You can only attempt the summit for a short period (around May I think it is) but even making the Base Camp would be box ticked that not many others down the local Pub would have.

My brother is doing the same trek next year, and he is a slob, so I sent him the outcome of these two who were walking 150klm/week with packs for training, but looking at the bloggs last night, some on there suggested some sort of simulated high altitude training was avail like an inverse hyperbaric chamber? My guys didn't do that or perhaps even know about it. I think also that we would all react differently and even the best level of fitness might not get you there if you can't stand the lack of oxygen, plus couple that with picking up bugs etc, all downhill from there. My brother did walked the Kokoda trail a couple of years ago, trained like crazy and it still almost killed him from the heat fatigue and exhaustion, so will wait and see how he fares - hopefully better than these two.

My brother rated it as extreme, scrambling up hills without a hint of a track, oppressive humidity and heat 24 hrs a day, simply not the territory for a 'visitor', but he got what he wanted out of it, so give it a crack, but strengthen up is the key.

A socket on our powerboard has died, so I made a tool to fit the tamper-proof screws and had a look inside. The thing is rated at 2400 watts, 10amps. It has a printed circuit board and the contacts are as you see them! The plug pin slides in at right angles to that slotted contact. The contact doesn't spring back after a hefty plug has been inserted! This thing has no Australian design rules accreditation and I can't remember where I bought it. I am off to the local electrical wholesalers to pick up a few of Aussie approved boards. Gunna turf out the other three boards as I don't trust them at all.
Further to the above: the disassembled switch revealed the contacts were burnt. Bloody hell! This thing has only ever supplied power to the laptop, DVD player or the small tele. The spring/conductor for the switch contacts were smaller in width and thickness than a bobby pin.

Your children are lucky to have a father that cares and loves them, put that at the front of your mind Andy. I remember - a long time ago - my wife went overseas for a holiday and left me with a 1 YO and working fulltime - I found this so demanding, but by comparison with what you are dealing with its not on the scale. For me, again from memory, I simply put my life on hold and attended to the 'now'. I survived and so will you, just very bumpy at the moment. Reach out for support when needed, its a strength not a weakness and you have a support network bigger than you probably know.

Yeah I do reckon the northern side of the high country gets busier than southern Gippsland side. Our Queens birthday weekend trip not far from Craigs Hut was very busy. I had to wait for around 30 or so 4wds to come down from Bluff hut. its was madness.

Been awake since 2am this morning, dog barking and sounded like somebody in our yard. Go out to have a look and can't see anything.
Half hour later the street is full of coppers and the street and our driveway is now a bloody crime scene! Somebody had been stabbed around the corner from us and chased around past our place, he hid in our driveway and then jumped the fence into our neighbours property. There is blood up our driveway and up the fence where he climbed over.
Amz and I have both been interviewed by the police as witnesses to what we heard and they want a copy of our CCTV footage.

Been in hospital since Saturday arvo, after dislocating my ankle on top of a compound fracture which hurt like a mofo!!
I’ve been knocked out 4 times already whilst they tried to reset the ankle twice and also fix up the wound... will find out in the morning if I need surgery, but looks like I’ll be off my feet for at least 6 weeks!!

Me!!! I made a bad decision on the road today. I passed a truck on what I thought was a long enough straight stretch of road. I should have downshifted first, so had to just keep going as a car appeared in the distance when I was level with the truck. Gotta leave a few ks to get the Old Trol wound up.

Hey mate it's a very long continuous story but in short Leah has had a lot of pain downstairs with a few operations and "other" problems developed this year so she has been in hospital since Jan this year.
On and off hospital but 95% in hospital mate.
It's just a shit year mate, I thought it was over 30 times this year but the devil keeps coming back and I'm starting to get tired.
Two kids as you know but Lachy is Autistic and it's bloody hard on your own mate and is draining.
I may as well let the cat out of the bag. I bought a caravan to go away with the kids to let them/me have fun. Lol
Poor kids didn't do much this year and I want them to be happy, they love camping.

Angry! Just read an advertising email from an Aussie 4WD parts supplier promoting a 4WD insurance company. Wording in the advert ... 'trails' and 'rigs'.
Why do we have to Americanise everything we do, America isn't that bloody good. Trails, why not tracks? Rigs, why not trucks, even trucks is a bit of an Americanism. I've given up on SUVs, that's a lost cause.

Regarding SUV's try doing what I do.
If you encounter an Asian Abomination Owner who insists his pox box is an "SUV".
Simply tell them... "The "U" in SUV stands for Utility so you will obviously have no issue if I rip the back off your wagon, tech screw some RM Williams mudflaps to the rear quarter panels and slap 20+ Bundy Rum and Jet Pilot stickers all over it"
