Hijack time... I was at Powell industries the other day, former purple pig store.

They were selling the ice boxes for eskys made to transplant organs.

I reckon they would hold ice for days, the insulation was 100mm thick. Not sure if they were second hand or not ;)

Here's how my week has gone with this bloody Navara!

The 22" rims with low profile tyres didn't pass roady of course so needed to swap tyres for the rwc photo. Had to be done by Tuesday this week before it runs out and more $$.

Stud pattern looks the same from my work 94 Navara, no worries, easy job! Took a tyre off Sunday night and it doesn't fit...wtf?

Bit of research online yep, nissan changed the stud spacing on the d40 Navara only from 139.7mm to 115mm

Patrols, landcruiser, d22 navaras even bt50's all use 139.7mm

Bugger! I need a d40 by tomorrow!!!

Rosscos mrs couldn't help me out due to work and last resort was a work college who has a d40...phew!

Met him at 7am Monday morning for the swap over.

Spent the morning swapping all tyres over, drive 5m and heard a slight grinding???

Brake caliber is rubbing, why?

Found out the hard way that Nissan decides to change the entire calibers and hub assembly between 2011 and 2013!!!!

Had to put everything back to where it was and went and bought 4 x new Sunnys and all terrains!

If anyone wants any fully sick 22" "pure wheels" brand rims and low profiles for their Navara let me know!!!

Nissan has frustrated me this week beyond belief!!

I don't know why anyone would want low profiles on a 4wd either. It was like driving a skateboard on a dirt road around our area!!!

Rant complete ;)

Well it's official, it is definitely diesel coming out of the pump. How long have I got until it dies is hard to tell. Nonetheless, it'll be expensive on top of the coolant leak and manifold fix... It all adds up to a straight engine swap from wreckers.... Very annoying.

When you get a fab company to make something for you.you discuss how you want it via email and phone, agree on it, pay the money and when it turns up its is absolutely nothing like you discussed. Not even the thickness of the steel is what is is supposed to be.

So your left having to remake most of it yourself because they didn't make it the way THEY said they would and how it was agreed upon.

Yeah good point. I keep confusing the TPS in the pedal, with the throttle sensor before the intake. That is where I think the problem is. It has to be.
I'm unsure but it may be the throttle body, the butterfly might be stuck somewhat closed sometimes ...
Like this morning on my way to the service, drove like s#it. On the way home it was a Supercharged V8.
Boost gauge reads the same, so turbo is doing it's work. EGTs rise up as well, so fuel is being pumped in, but it just feels like there is air shut out of the engine somewhere along the line.

Arnotts Jatz originated in NSW and are made with Malt
Savoy originated in Vic and are made with Golden Syrup.
After they bought out the local Vic company making Savoy, Arnotts kept the Savoy going due to the brand loyalty in Vic (we all know how hard it is to teach a wood duck something new)

Spot on. And tests were inconclusive.
After thinking about it later though the biscuit are only salted one side.
That side is easy to pic with the savoys due to its stamp. The jays is not stamped so its a guess at which is salted.

It was said the savoys are still made with the tradition golden syrup and jatzs didn't. That was really the only difference

After a short drive there is now even more diesel leaking than prior to clean up, it's actually dripping onto the diff now... Happy times.

It looks like this mate. It's a Gardenline brand from Aldi with an oregon bar. From memory it was $130 off Aldi. Starts up everytime no dramas, cuts fine, but Yeah I also found chain comes loose very quickly after a few cuts.

We have the farmboss sithl range at work and have never seen them leak bar oil, they sit in the back of the utes, and would have noticed if it leaked. MInd you the farmboss is the dearer range.
But this ALdi one spewed all oil it had in it out. Still sarted and cut fine. Just annoying.

Yep. Looks the same as mine, but mine is in orange. Just don't clean it Eric. Let the wood soak up the oil bud! And put it in your spare wheel bag when carrying it. I do this also with the fuel container. No petrol smells through the camper or car.
Whats a new chain worth for these things? I was given a sharpening kit but who can be bothered! New chain or if the price of the chain is close to the price of the saw. A new saw. Lol.

I've got the same saw. Replaced the chain with a Stihl brand one and all good. It used to leak bar oil but now it's been used a fair bit it has stopped leaking. Pretty good for the money.

What's the report Mark ? Wondering what's happened ...

Been too busy with everything else this weekend to do much. I have removed the surge tanks, no cracks, removed the hoses, no cracks, removed the radiator and filled it up and pressurised it, no leaks. No water was on the motor at all so I know its not anything on the motor. The motor went into a limp mode like state, I think its a safety thingo thats brought on when you loose coolant or temps get too high maybe to stop you from cooking it? I was able to drive it into the garage when it was off the tow truck and the limp mode state wasn't there.
I wash out the radiator fins and it was pretty dirty.
The cars is just sitting in pieces at the moment. It might be there for a day or two before I can touch it again though. I'm gonna replace all the hoses on the car while its apart...
The only thing I can think of where the coolant came from was where the lower hose is clamped onto the radiator. As this section basically points right to the wheel arch. The clamp used is one of those spring loaded clamps and I think these are used for a reason. If the system does pressurise, the clamp can let go and release the pressure. This way you don't bust a hose or split the radiator. Just grabbing at straws really. The reason it did it is, I think, the small pressure hose that goes from the radiator to the surge tank (which is under pressure also) might have been kinked or something and therefor the surge tank pressure cap couldn't release any excess pressure, so the radiator simply over pressurized until this clamp let go, let the excess water out and the clamp, tightened up again on the hose once the pressure was relieved. Like I said, just grabbing at straws. Everything checks out o.k otherwise.
When it happened, I was kinda hoping for the worst. Lol. Then this would have forced me to do the TD upgrade. Haven't really got the coin to do it but atleast it would make me start.

Finding out the grubbermint wants to tax everyone's saving again with a new tax.

No-one has a hope of getting by if it comes in, especially those who are travelling or using their savings in retirement or just saving in general.

Basically 3 taxes on your money at once, 1st being on your wages, 2nd on any interest (un-earnt income) over $470 (approx) from your savings and then 3rd if introduced is to tax your savings again.

My kid (15) was being an arsehole at school, knocked a desk over and injured a nearby girl as a result. We got the call from the school teacher and discussed it with him when he got home from school. Asked him to write an apology to the girl, or receive a grounding and still be made to write an apology. He got pissed at the options, refused to apologise and told us "SEE YA!" and stormed out the door. He now refuses to come in the house, so we put a pillow and blanket at the front door for him.

All of this a day after taking him into town for Cold Rock icecream (which i had to near mortgage the damn house to afford) and spending some family time together. Someone please nominate me for worst parent in the world... clearly im doing something wrong by having boundaries, discipline, putting a roof over his head, a warm meal at night, a comfortable place to sleep, a computer and a console, taking him on holidays, giving him an education, loving him and his mother... heck, a night out in the cold might do him a world of good to see how good he's got it.

Fkg kids. :furious:
