Spending $400 for #2 child to see an Ear, nose & throat specialist, to be told her tonsils and adenoids will have to be removed soon because they are causing snoring, restless nights and possible sleep apnea, which in turn he is blaming her behavioural problems on. So, we have to somehow monitor her sleeping habits over then next month, then back to the specialist.................... happy days

Heart says keep it but brain says GU?

Heart says keep it, brain says keep it then I have a few beers and start thinking about a GU for a tourer

Basically will never be able to afford to register 3 cars ( 2 me + missus )

So its either
Do the GQ up slowly ( needs a bit of work done to it ) and put it on GAS and then sell the commohore
Sell the GQ, keep the commohore and forget about 4b's for a while
Trade the GQ and commohore in on a GU, depending on what I got for trade in as really can't afford to throw in more money after trade in ( so might not even be able to do that anyway )

That's a very nice lookn Q mate!

Thanks mate, I stole it today from down the road *L*

Happy that my Tyredog TD 1400A-X arrived from China.
After waiting a month & not seeing any 'movement' on DHL tracking of the parcel I contacted the seller a couple of days ago.
Yesterday I received the following response

Hi dear,

Sorry about the delayed. The 1st parcel on the way to you got damp because a strong typhoon hit the the parcel.
And it was returned to us. We have resent it again. Here is the shipping status:

Tracking: 9237459464
You can check on:

And it is now to VICTORIA, you will have it soon. In this case, we can issue 10USD for you as compensation for the inconvenience caused for you. Is it fair for you? Wait for your kind reply.

Yours sincerely,

Keep it mate. I went threw the same thing and after looking around and seeing only 3ltrs I've started repairs..
The way I took it was
Sell the q, buy a zd30 and spend $5 thou straight up on prevention measures and still run the risk.
Or keep the q, put the 5 thou into it and have a nice car that I know the history of..
Dont go gas. Go light turbo setup. As you will have more power you'll use less go peddle..

@ OD yeah hoping for much better grip, @ $75 a rotor that's not too bad.
I'll get my OE rotors machined and store them.
But its more the pad than the rotor IMO that helps you stop.
OE rotors are flat these are dipple drilled [counter sunk] and slotted

Is it just to delete the tie downs? Or is there another reason for it?

threedogs

Yeah you wont need tie downs at all, suits 40 to 60 ltr fridges.
Plus it looks neater

Hi all
Been 5 weeks in Tas and today met up with Tassie Wombat and family
Had a good long chat and a coffee and a couple of beers.
As we are traveling around Tas for 3 months he offered us a place to service or repair any damage to our equipment and also a overnight camp.
This i feel is very generous and says a lot for members who have never met or know any thing about us.
As we are camping remote most of the time service is very limited so i will endeavor to do a report on our adventures when we get home
Also a thank you to Macca for his PM which thanked me and others who gave advice for his Canning trip. Pleased that he and his companions enjoyed their adventure

old teepookana town up the king river. This bridge was shipped from london in pieces "back in the day". The train track and all the bridges were brought back into commission a few years ago and is used as a tourist train now (The Abt Railway). You go full speed up this river on the devil boat trip, stopping at all the cool spots:)

The Abt railway has more than 1 bridge for every kilometre on its way up the King river to Zeehan (and originally to the Mt Lyell copper mine). The tourist railway is not far from closing and its a shame as its beautiful and i would love to see it while i can but at nearly $200 for a friggen ticket its way overpriced. This is a recent pic

Its great along Glenelg River, I have canoed along it about 5 times starting up around Pines Landing or Moleside and getting out at either Donavans Landing or Nelson.
The camp sites along there are great, which site did you stay at?

Batterbys. Where the red tag is on the sign. About 16 k along the river from Nelson.
Your right though, any site is great, but make sure you book and pay.. The ranger was right on time..

Happy to be home, pronounced fit & healthy after 6 hours on a casualty bed connected to monitors & having a multitude tests after what appeared to be a heart attack. Don't know what it was, but the ticker has been pronounced ok.

Cuppa, good to hear the ok, but it's something you want to know why if you can. Not saying it is the same thing, but twice a few of years ago I was with a mate and we thought he was having a heart attack. After a lot of chasing turned out to be gall stones for him.

Anyway, again, good to hear the main checks are ok.

G'day folks,

What made me happy today were all the kind thoughts that forum members placed on the “What has made you angry today” thread on the weekend for my family’s loss of a grate family friend Gordon Quinton!

The funeral on Monday was a somber affair as funerals goes, it was held at Barnes funeral parlor in Ballarat in Victoria. What a Farken freezing cold shit-hole of a place, lol.

I arrived in Victoria on Saturday evening, beautiful whether conditions, 27 c The drive back to Geelong went well, it was great to see Victoria so green, the last time I was down the place was so brown and desolate looking. Sunday was a fine 29 c overcast day.

Woke up Monday morning for the day of the funeral, farken freezing cold 12 c, pissing down with rain. I literally froze my bollocks off! The drive to Ballarat from Geelong was bleak and cold, typical funeral whether, arrived at the funeral parlor and literally walked into a disaster, both my dad and I were wearing black suites with white shirts and tie, as I attempted to get out of the passenger rear door, I slipped and fell which caused my shit-bag to let go. Instead of looking like someone in attendance for a funeral, i resembled the local shit-house cleaner covered in shit!

Fark me swinging trendsetters, I had to suddenly bolt to the handicap toilets keeping pressure on the bag so it wouldn't further leak. What a total fark-up I am saying myself. To make things worse, I forgot to bring my change bag which was extremely embarrassing, no new shit-bag, no change of clothes. Fark at one stage I even thought of jumping into the coffin with Uncle Gordon!

The funeral parlor staff was fantastic; they gave me a couple of tea towels and a role of gaffer tape. With the funeral now delayed, I bolted back into the handicap toilets, stripped off, packed the shit bag with the tea towels and with gaffer tape, taped myself up! I came out of the toilet looking like pregnant women!

For the first time everyone was laughing even if it was for a short period time, Gordon’s four daughter’s stated to everyone that Uncle Gordon would have been laughing his head off by my actions! (At least i was providing the entertainment.) With the service finally underway, it was back to being grim and sad faced. Then my dad got up to read the eulogy and soon has my dad started to cry the whole chapel broke into tears including yours truly!

After the service, we attended the family wake in Dereel south of Ballarat another isolated lonely place far from civilization, (you have to be a special person to live in remote areas, i could not live there.) Time and time again the topic came up about Gordon and my exploits of getting into the water with crocodiles. Typical poms at the time, we were so gullible to the outback folks, a couple of locals told us "as soon as you shoot a croc you have get into the water and tail rope the buggers before they sink".

The following day when were at the local pub bragging about the two crock that we shoot, we thanked this farken idiot for giving us (what we thought was good advice) The publican farken read us the riot act, “you stupid pommy bastards, you don’t get into the water with the farkers” you motor up on them with boat and then tow them back to the bank"!

I remember my dad and Gordon trying to punch this fellow, to the blokes credit he shouted us beers and the whole pub had a laugh at our expense.

Thanks Gordon Quinton for the great memories, I will never forget you mate!

Regards,

Paul

Paul mate,

Like I've been telling you Write that Book! I'd buy it (and come up to get it personally signed), and I'm sure many other members would buy it as well.
Sure you don't want to live in Ballarat? much cooler than your neck of the woods.

Cheers
Jack
