FOG, crystal clear days, bit humid though, then this morning as we were to pack up, woke to everything soaked. Sun burnt it off though by 9am.

got my GU back only a small thing but put a smile on my face
it was a long time coming. As stated heaps of new parts fitted.
for only220k the tensioner was U/S. new egr valve $600 replaced
full set of head bolts, IP "O" ring fitted along with a thicker head gasket
There were marks on the top of 2 pistons but think it should be ok with the thicker gasket
Just happy Im mobile again
For a Renault engine they are very complex, but as far as Nissan

Sealed up the top of radiator gap to front of vehicle body shroud area and the difference it made in coolant temps was surprising.
Only did a short drive up radiator test hill but looking like a decent 3 to 4 degree difference so far!
Need to test more but make sure your radiator surroundings are all locked in to only draw air from in front of radiator, big difference!
Would be good to seal up the sides one day too!

I can understand why the S&W model 29 sold like hotcakes at the time.
They just don't make movies like they used too

Interesting fact about that pistol: It was a top seller because of Clint's movies, but many buyers found the recoil too harsh, so it became very unpopular and nearly worthless.

I didn't know that.
I think the nostalgic value is brought it back to some kind popularity in this day and age though.

I watched a Vic Police member shooting a 44 mag in the police range. He was lying on the ground shooting, with full body contact on the carpet. Each shot physically moved him backwards on the carpet about 2". The entire range disappeared in smoke after 4 shots and he had had enough after 5 consecutive shots - extremely noisy is an understatement.

You need council approval to open a driving school business?? Cant see how that could be detrimental to the local residents. You're on the road, not like you're splitting logs in the back yard.

I paid $220 for my planning application - approved today by Council, and I pay about $73 per year renewal for I don't know what. It'll be a mobile business and all I'll be doing at home is cleaning and garaging the car and sitting at my lappy doing invoices.
Anyway, I'm one step closer. Nuff said. lol.

It has become our yearly outing to go to Whiteman Park on Good Friday with as many family members that are available and spend the day with kids, chocolate and hot cross buns. As Whiteman Park has power outlets in the shelters, I normally take our Microwave so our hot cross buns are truly hot. I did notice this year when I grabbed the microwave, that the storage in the shed needed a bit of a tidy and decided to address that when putting the microwave away. Well with all the camping gear in the shed, it seemed a good idea to build more shelving to accommodate this equipment. Unfortunately, it was necessary to move a cabinet to a new location so that the work bench could be moved to make room for the extension to the storage shelving. The new shelving also covered the light switch which had to be moved. So after returning home on Friday evening, I finished putting the microwave away at 5pm today.
BUNDEEEEE time.

Drove up to Eildon on Thursday night through the hills with no traffic. Stayed with three other families, mates that I have known for well over 20 years. Had a chance to give the new battery and solar panel a good test and performed very well. Fridge was set to 1 degree and there would have been at least 2 phones on charge at a minimum pretty much all the time (6 kids). I haven't changed anything on the panel and I don't think I will. Only drove out to the Thornton pub once.
Monday drove back the same way with a stop a Buxton for a burger, wow Yummo. Two of the youngest kids 12 &13 had a Buxton spiecal, both smashed them.
Did a spot of fishing and a mate pulled up a undersized trout. A photo and it was returned to the water.
Had a great time car performed well, but those hills was a 2nd gear climb, but we made it. I fitted up the new Bosch Alternator last Thursday, Took off up the Murray on Friday morning. I instantly noticed I had 14.8v charging to both batts straight away and then after a while it settled down. Seeing how this new alternator is charging compared to the old cheap chinese, even when it was working, just shows you get what you pay for.

So I guess it's time to bring you lot up to speed on what's been going on in the Westbrook life this far of 2018.
And exciting is putting it lightly...
In short were upping and moving out.
I'm going home, back to Yorke Peninsula.
Landed a beautiful house basically center of the leg on a bit of land, landed a job in Kadina in a new and exciting Avenue of work as a draftsman / 2ic of a shed building company and hopefully Nissa gets some good news today on a job for herself.
Nissa and I have been busting ass these last few months to finish our Mt G house as we are going to try and rent it. Gunna be hard being 700km away but hopefully the ground work layed now will see it issue free for many years.
So nearly 13 years in mount gambier is coming to an end, but as I said new exciting times lay ahead.
As always if your on yorkes drop in.
Plenty of room for you, even a forum meet up!!
The new house for you.

I got a crap load done at home today. Everything just flowed. Woke up at 6, had brekky, went down stairs and started to clean up the mess from last weekends camping and put everything away in the bungalow, continued to clean up the rumpus, then started on the cave, got the rest of my stuff back in, jaysee came over for a coffee and a chat. Was real good to see him. Its been a long time. Then after he left I started on my double garage which could not fit a single car in it. Finished at about 4pm and the entire garage was clean, all tools put back in their rightful spots. Lol. Wont stay that long. Then decided to mow the lawn, then I sat down in the back yard and had a beer with my feet up.
Farkin' good day, lots got done.

Is it a PC thing or do I need the paid version of Tappa.
Anyway, if I didn't come pass you would have finished earlier or would have get something else done.
I thing that I thought of after I left was about heating the pool. If you have a pool cover leave it on during summer and run the pump for about an hour before you are going to use it to circulate the warmer top water all around. It does help to take out the chill.

Ah ours is not as flash as yours. Lol. Ours has the stainless steel front on it. some of their models which you can have the same front as the cupboard is pretty flash. We've had the dish drawer, in our previous two houses. Its great having two dishwashers in one that can run independently.

Mining industry knock off made out of plastic the original was made out of cast alloy and we only had the one hose for high pressure / volume air or water they were the ducks nuts and the only bit you had to worry about was the rubber seal but never had to replace one while I was working at Warrego .

Remap is good but I should have improved induction at same time, IMO higher boost 21-22psi has increased the axial load on the comp wheel thrust bearing and now needs replacement (wheel rubbing housing). Just in the process of getting ProCharge stage 3 turbo and FabWitz airbox and 3" ducting kit. Then up to ecpt for dyno... Good excuse for an upgrade..lol

So our 12 month ordeal with the plumbing issue still hasnt been resolved. Our last visit from the plumber we came to the conclusion the he will need access to the storm water easement which is under and behind the mass of bushes in the pic below. Rather than digging a trench right across the driveway to where the stormwater pipe is 100% blocked leading to the access pit.
Pic below is looking down at said bush from the balcony. You can see that I had a crack at it but bloody hell, what a mess of a job.
75000
We got quotes to remove the bush which is 3 meters deep and about 15 meters in length. But we only need to remove about 6 of it for the plumber to access. Quotes got to $1350!!!
So we decide to do it ourselves.
Two days later.
We are done, and I cut down a dead tree covered in vine on the corner of the fence line too! More firewood! Bloody amazing how much space we have gained here.
Those cracks you can see in the bitumen were totally covered over by the bush.
75002
Absolutely stoked with our efforts this weekend! Now we just have to get rid of all the bush we removed. I got three green waste tickets from the council, hopefully these will be enough.
So now we can finally book the plumber in to do his work. With any luck he fixes this hell of a nightmare for once and for all!
