Thankful that my sister didn't have a crash, but pulled over to sleep, and that's why she's taken 8 hours to drive to the coast. I'm not with her, but got a phone call saying she hadn't arrived at the camp she was going to (I was supposed to be with her but had to work tomorrow) took me half an hour to get in contact as her phone is dodgy
Was stressing out for a bit. But am happy she's fine.

No, got stuck on one of the mounds going in, Ben gave me a hand push back which was enough 2 free me and I took another line and made it over.
But funnily enough did not make it down...
Yeh after the rain I had no hope in getting back out unassisted, Lucky for me Kat had my trailer on which would of made it a hell of a lot easier 2 get out but think the old crappadore still went ok through some of those muddy spots *L*
Shame there was no video footage of my drive out!
I still haven't washed the mud off the car from that weekend! *L*

The new battery/solar setup on the car is working a treat. I have the ctek setup and it is successfully maintaining the charge on two internal and the main battery.
Very happy. No more having to top up the batteries (and hurting the back) just before a trip.
I have a redarc vsr between the main battery and an internal 105a/h deep cycle. Feeding off that I have the ctek and 55ah optima. All three batteries are automatically isolated when needed, but usually maintain enough charge to keep the redarc solenoid closed allowing for a charge path to the main battery.
This means when the optima is fully charged from the solar panel, the ctek redirects the power to charge the main and 105a/h.
The 105a/h is used for the camper when needed, but can be manually switched in to run the fridge and electronics in the back of the car on demand or removed if I need the space for the kiddies.
The optima will normally feed the fridge and electronics, as the low internal resistance makes for a nice quick recharge. I always struggled to keep the old SLA charged with the original setup, I'm hopeful that won't be a problem anymore.
The only change I'm considering is adding an mppt charger to the 105a/h to allow charging off solar independent of the car.
:)

Pretty much... Lol. Heaps more power with the new batteries! Made the same mistake with the veggie again. Meat cooks way faster, but I built a bit of a flame under the veggies but it obviously didn't work. Next time I'll cook the veggies first real close to the heat and then cook the meat, and it will just keep the veg warm.

Trig track you mean? We did not do any tracks at all this weekend, just lots of swimming, waiting for the rain to stop, and bush walking with the dog. Also lots of beer... Lots.

Trig has a nice camp at the bottom if it's a warm day.... Think I've read that deep Creek (1 and 4 - "the good ones"?) are closed :( not sure about status now though. May be worth asking around before being disappointed...

There's a minion attachments you can get for them too.
The damn thing threw me off though I was going a bit fast for the turn lmao but fark it corked my leg so bad
I also got it bogged and had to recover it with the excavator
That excavator is so cute. . . Is nearly as big as the wheelbarrow. . .
Yes its a tiny 1 tone lol, unfortunately the biggest one I could fit past the side of the house. Bloody works good though moved at least 12 cubic mtrs this weekend

Has to be in the happy thread and not the angry thread. Had a bit of an accident today, that was a near miss to something much worse. Obviously wasn't concentrating, was drizzling and remember listening to the news on the radio about Harrison Ford then ... realised the car in front was stopped waiting for a break in traffic to turn right!
Doing 70 in a 70 zone, light drizzle, muddies, in a Jackaroo and a stopped car in front. Hardly realistic for any sports car manoeuvres. Hit the breaks and started skidding, somehow had managed to decide that wasn't gonna turn out too well and got off the brakes. Cut off down the left of them, collected a street sign and somehow again managed to miss two big trees (not by much obviously after walking back to look). A bit of panel damage to the front left gaurd and door. Literally cut the snorkel in half. Managed to get another cheap snorkel on as a temp fit up until the panel beater does his thing. Reckons he'll do a basic patch up for $350. Found a replacement for the broken mirror at the wreckers for $44.
But both myself and son were fine and main damage was to my ego. Got to be happy about that, could have been much, much worse. Car I nearly hit didn't even stop, not even sure if they realised?? Someone else stopped to check we were ok. All good.

Plus getting off the brake so you could control and steer the vehicle.

Ha ha, the main thing I was thinking is I don't want to screw up my car and miss going to Aberfeldy - got to get the priorities right!
I put the new snorkel piece on last night and it pulled the gaurd out quite a bit. Starting to think I might just pull it out a fraction more and put some paint on the bare metal and leave it. The snorkel significantly hides most of the damage.
Still planning to come. :)

with my wife, we were talking about the possibility of spending a full dry season working there - they’ve offered free stay & all food to ‘grey nomad’ couples who want to help out. Part of our conversation was about the need for wife to be able to drive around the place. Got to 8:56 on the video, & then a short time later at 11.04 & my wife asks “Do we have a locker”. “No says I”, they’re pretty expensive at around $2k fitted”. “I think we should get one” she said. Just to reinforce her wise thinking I showed this video of the Munja Track & suggested it’d be one to take.

Agreed. You are carrying extra weight so to not put to much strain on the front I think you will need both lockers. You know, to be safe. And of corse so that it is done right the first time.

The transfer case is a pain and the exhaust also hangs low just nearby, just have to keep it in mind (or ignore it and hope for the best!). A couple of inches of lift and some taller tyres help a lot.
I just put an Elocker in the front, which compensates for the IFS fairly significantly.
For sure it is not a Patrol, but I have a chuckle and wonder if Cuppa's thoughts around lockers have anything to do with being out with me a bit the last few weeks. Ha Ha, nice if the wife agrees that you really do need it. :)
They make an amazing difference.
Cuppa
9th March 2015, 10:46 PM
I made the mistake of explaining to my wife about how good the Patrol’s limited slip diff is, rendering a locker on both axles unnecessary. (To be honest I’m not sure a front one alone could be described as necessary, for my use, although I imagine it will allow me to go slower & save me from some momentum caused underbody damage). There is absolutely no doubt that my thoughts about lockers have been concretised by my experience of Cameron’s. A long time ago I decided that if I ever got a locker it would be an e-locker & it was just luck that the only vehicle I’ve been in with a locker has one, & that I’d experienced it before & after fitting. Chalk & cheese!

Big win at work today. Fella in the office had a huge win about wasted time, not handing in paperwork, etc. this went on for 15-20 minutes, with the boss there watching.
Waited for him to finish, went to the unfinished job pile, and pulled out all my 'missing' job cards. Pointed out he's the only one who puts stuff in that pile. He proceded to try and winge about a few jobs I hadn't finished. I pulled out my phone, got up all emails saying what parts were needed (he's the p.o) and said where is it.
Boss made him work through lunch to get all the parts ordered.
He didn't talk to me the rest of the day which is good cause I don't like him at all :)

I am paying for doing too much on my Ankle too soon.
The tape and bandage today made it feel reeeel good. Then, picked up the pace and the pain shot back

So I think you need to get sat down and run through some safe work practices. You only have two legs and once they're gone they're gone. Do you have someone such as a workplace safety officer that could help you go over the basics?

Went down to Supercheap to have look at the latest sale items and scored the last of the battery pack combo's they had but no NS70T 75a/h batteries are stocked in WA Supercheap stores at the moment.
Ended up scoring the N70T 100 a/h battery as a replacement for the same combo price at $300 instead of $540 that showed on the register.

I bought one as an aux battery but it couldn't handle 4x4 terain and it leaked everywhere over the passenger side wheel arch causing a little paint removal and minor rust.
Ended up ditching it for a 100ah AGM for $300.

Well not only today but, more like the weekend.
Friday.
Ordered my 2" flexi kit, bonus was they had it at a discounted price  and booked in for my ironman snorkel install for next week.
Saturday.
Did my Ragged Edge 4x4 drive. They had one of the trucks break an axle in the morning session so that delayed everything for the rest of the day. I was notified early enough so kicked around home for an hour and took my time getting there. The drive itself was Brilliant, just a bit more time in the trucks would be nice as controlling the rear steer takes some time to get use to and not knowing the tracks. Being a short ass I found it hard to see where I was going, sh!t I couldn't even see the instructor half of the time. Luckily I had a voucher otherwise I wouldn't done it. We were planning on going to see Collingwood play that night, but being delayed we wouldn't made it, so went out to a Malayans restaurant instead, not something that we do a lot.
Sunday.
Watched my boys play their first practice match of the year with a new club and in a different league. They both played well proud of them.
Finally get around to cutting half of my neighbors tree (with his permission). Hopefully this with stop the crap landing in my pool on those windy days.
After all the crap that happened at work a couple of weeks ago I applied for another job.
All in all a busy and expensive weekend, with good outcomes, luckily its not always like this.

Had a great weekend with my local 4x4 club. They had a "try 4wd" weekend. Got lots of people through and a big social campout at the weekend.
Caught up with both Apollofish and Cuppa at the event. Was very happy to see and hear about Cuppa getting stuck into some real 4wding with his mighty rig. He successfully tackled one of the hard rutted hill climbs. Unfortunately wasn't there to see it as I was leading one of the other trips. I'm sure it will be a confidence boost that will lead on to many more adventures.
I really enjoy that this place has linked me in with actually meeting up and getting on the track with great people.
Can't wait for next weekend at Aberfeldy! :)

Happy & annoyed at same time.
One of our roller shutters became stuck. Being under warranty I rang the bloke and after 3 weeks he came out, opened the cable roller cover , took a look and said nah shes stuffed have to replace, it will take a few weeks for parts to come in. Fair enough ...
While he has it opened I take a quick look and realized the wire on the roller is somewhat crossed onto its self and somehow had a small knot in it. Took me about 10 seconds with a screw driver to untangle it and the whole thing freed up and began working like new... All right in front of him.
Seeing the very surprised look on his face, he back paddled saying " OH nah we replace the whole lot just in case."
Happy I got it sorted, but annoyed that I could have been an out of warranty customer, and he could have done the same thing and Charged someone for a tiny fix like that, with a whole assembly replacement, roughly $150 +labor. Plus annoyed at my self, for not opening it up my self when the problem arouse in the first place... Oh well.

Bit the bullet and got a recond remote res power steering pump for the the Chev.
It would cost less out of the US but too hard to figure out which pump it is so Brunnies can have the extra cash plus they had one on the shelf
Now to summon up the motivation to change it.
