If a human told you it wasn't human error, how do you know the human didn't make an error because if a human said it was human error in the first place and it wasn't a human error there has to be a human error in there somewhere otherwise the human who said it wasn't a human error when it was a human error made a human error...

I Pull out of my street on Friday Arvo with the kids in the car. I pulled out behind an EB Falcon wagon with a "Dominos Pizza" sign on the roof. As I caught up to it I realized it had a near Flat rear tyre. I knew it was heading back to the shop as we were going to drive straight past.
I was in the GUIV. I thought I should follow them into theircarpark and let them know. Just in case. Then I remembered I had my air hose in the drawer. Winner.
The wagon was wearing a P Plate I thought it would be an Indian Student or something. All good.
I followed the wagon in and pulled up beside it in the car park. I puns down the window and this Young Aussie 18yo girl was driving. "Did you know you have a flat tyre?" " yes I put air in it a couple of days ago and it's gone down again?" " you need to put air in it or you will get a blowout!" "I will try not to use the car much tonight"
"I will pump it up for you now if you like" "no it's ok," I think she thought I was being creepy although I had 2 kids in my car!
"Nah no worries, it'll take me a minute and you can't drive around like that" " sorry I have to go inside and report back"
So she went inside and I pumped up her tyre without a second thought. When I finished and packed up I knocked on the window and she was smashing out more pizzas. I gave her a Thumbs Up and she said thank you. As I was reversing out I saw her take a look out the window and look at her car, she then looked at me again and you could see the thank you and relief on the face of a young girl who was working hard for her money who really appreciated the help of a stranger.
Karma is Good. Pay it forward. Maybe when my little girl is all grown up someone will give her a hand.

I avoid doctors like the plague. Bloody quacks the lot of them. Ever since the day a gp prescribed me antibiotics for a bad cold when nothing but time and rest would help (i just needed a cert for work). I asked why are you prescribing antibiotics when they wont do jack for a virus he said what else can i do? I gave him back the prescription and said just give me a bloody cert for the boss Dr Duck!! My trust in them went straight out the window that day. Dont get me started on the BS my mrs is going through jumping through quack hoop after quack hoop endlessly and being fed non stop BS. Not one bit of progress for her tummy troubles being sent here there and everywhere for absolutely zero progress, just endless bluff and guesses that i could say if i was pretending to be a doctor. So if you know whats wrong with you (like winnies sprained ankle) make your own decisions on who to see and bypass the quacks. Save yourself from the medical industry scam roller coaster of repeated specialist to specialist appointments. Thats how they spread $$$ to each other. You wont do anything stupider than being on the quack scam roller coaster. This should be in the angry thread i know but had to put my 2c in. One day I'll die. So will you. If i die 5 years earlier for not dealing with quacks thats ok by me. Not playing their games.
But then you fracture your back and try to walk it off without seeing a specialist.

This brings back memories of when I was a kid, best mate is Croation. Could never go there without getting a feed, even if you weren't hungry.
Always helped make the wine and then drink it. Can still smell the fermented grapes. Kill a pig or sheep in the suburban back yard. Hams in the home made smoker.
That was the life.

One of the best feeds of my life was when i was invited to an italian friends family gathering in adelaide back in 1995. The men didnt warm to me initially when i selected a beer from the drinks on offer (I was the only one drinking it), but when that was done and next beer offered i said no i think ill have a wine (homemade red). All of a sudden all the guys were smiles and backslapping me and topping me up as soon as i hit the half way marker. Needless to say the afternoon was long and noisy and i was completely stuffed full of pastas, breads, schnitzels, salads, sauces, vegies and wine by the time i left. Pissed and bloated and happy as a pig in shit! Haha what a great day!

Took the Patrol for a run down the ring road this afternoon. Mixture of freeway and side streets. Temp sat between 80-92 and the factory gauge didn't move.
I know that my radiator isn't 100% so pretty happy with it. I've had it once a bit over half, wouldn't mind knowing what that temp was.
The gauges are good at night, but I will see how they look with the dimmer mod.

had a phone call out of the blue, last year i took the opportunity to take on a business name that is well known over here in the west and as they had opened and closed a shop a couple of times and they were competitors i took the opportunity to stop them opening again, well today i had a phone call from the rep asking if i would be interested as they had an enquiry from a guy who is based from home but wanted to start the shop again out here but as i had just taken over he cannot do it so they asked if i would be interested in selling. Well as you know last year i looked at selling to further my camping and fishing adventures in the Patrol so we now have the hook set and will try to reel him in, to say i would be happy would be an understatement, i just hope we can come to a reasonable price so i can finally take off but i may need a big vehicle to fit the 2 harleys and patrol :)

kinda blowing my own trumpet here but i pulled over and helped a bloke change his spare tyre after it had blown up on him and he couldnt work out how to use the jack. i mean it was pretty funny to find out he was trying to jack the car up from the chassis(a mitsubishi triton) admittedly a safe jack point on the arm was too low to get the jack under it but with the help of a big rock we got the jack to a safe spot and him back on the road.
what amazes me these days tho is we were on a main highway, between sydney and wollongong. the spot he broke down on, the break down lane was EXTREMELY narrow and yet people werent even moving a little more away from us, so farken dangerous.
Hodge
3rd March 2016, 08:51 PM
Why sell it ?
Well few reasons. We don't have provisions for 3 cars at our house. She doesn't want a big car, especially manual. Which are no biggies, we can overcome those....
But then..... Jonathans recent thread "The short trip blues........" (http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?36647-The-short-trip-blues) sums up very nicely why it would definitely not be suitable for my wife. The short stop and go trips she would do, would do not much good to the car, I mean lets face it this thing is practically a truck.
So the overall big picture makes it not feasible to keep her sitting here...
But on the other hand yeah this is kind of like my dream 4x4, that I may not be able to find again in the future so, a lot of thoughtfull decisions to be made ahead.
However, the job position is still a ? right now, and if I'd get rid of it, even IF i got the position, is still a small ? . It's just something thats just surfaced up again after a meeting at work earlier. Brain hurts. Need more beer right now.

kinda blowing my own trumpet here but i pulled over and helped a bloke change his spare tyre after it had blown up on him and he couldnt work out how to use the jack. i mean it was pretty funny to find out he was trying to jack the car up from the chassis(a mitsubishi triton) admittedly a safe jack point on the arm was too low to get the jack under it but with the help of a big rock we got the jack to a safe spot and him back on the road.
what amazes me these days tho is we were on a main highway, between sydney and wollongong. the spot he broke down on, the break down lane was EXTREMELY narrow and yet people werent even moving a little more away from us, so farken dangerous.

Ask them if they would give you a car allowance instead so they pay to run the patrol.
My misses does lots of short trips with ours and it is a manual, I tried to convince her we should buy a little car for her to drive but she loves driving the Patrol. (Just a pity she is so hard on the clutch)

You make me jealous and want to get back on a trail bike. But i keep telling myself why i had to stop.
I miss it so much. Its the only time where you are pretty much alone with your helmet on, all your thoughts to yourself, tearing through the bush and just having a blast forgetting about everything else for a whole day.

Saw this 1850 games table top on Ebay a while ago and thought it had potential,
So I brought for $30, the seller said it might be worth some coin cleaned up Cha Ching
I says. So looking through Ebay again I found a tilt top Mahogany table from 1850 but the top had a split in it.{$60}
I told them what I wanted it for and this seller said it would be perfect. Cleaned them both up
and married them together and sent a few pictures to museums and Auction houses to get a rough
value of the table. It uses all original hardware .Im wrapped the way its turned out. So my
2 bits of furniture costing about $90 has now been appraised at a whopping $4500.
now if only there was someone out there to buy it at that price,
Iv purchased some 76mm weighted rosewood chess pieces for it as well.
It has about 10 different species of timber even a cribbage board around the edge.
Got bored lol

I have a few meat safes from about 1880s and a heap of ice boxes
Dont make furniture like that anymore eh.
That chair is a 1860 walnut balloon back in original trim
The meat safe is 1860 the red cedar ice box is 1854 from the Shramrock hotel
in Bendigo the other is Mudski but I have another I store dry dog food and parrot seed in
keeps the mice at bay. you can pick up a 1930's one for $20 they come up a treat
and all hardware etc is available, they make great wine cellars or home entertainment
enclosure, Old cream one is Marks before I cleaned it up, ready for pick up hint hint
Bottom left Im doing japan black on the oak surfaces, shows up wood grain a treat
