Just hooked up the rear work/floodlight to the Victron solar controller load terminal and sitting under the verandah 20 metres away have been turning the light on and off with my phone , small things amuse small minds but will be handy when out bush when I need to get up for a nature call or we hear a strange noise in the middle of the night .

You wont be disappointed Darren, have a scan on ebay, I went for the generic 5ah battery combos purchased as a pair but would recommend 2 in the saw and at least 2 in reserve. There are mobs out there that sell a 4 pack at a good price. The saw itself has a battery life warning life, but if you go the genuine Makita battery you end up with the 'fuel tank' display on the battery as well. OI didnt go this path as my use didnt justify it - not like a tradie needing to confirm life in the battery for a specific job for example. I also went the single charger station, regret that now as I can recharge off the inverter but only one at a time, so if I was to do it again would go the twin charger station. I bought a spare bar as well, just because it is easy to bend one and carry 5 spare chains.

That looks like the 14" bar unit - mine only has the 12". When I get home on the weekend I will have a look at my neighbours saw - same as this one you bought as he has found a really neat storage box from Bunnings I believe.

Cheers Phil. Yeah i have all Makita so have 56 batteries now. Looking at a Twin Charger and 2 x 5amp batteries on ebay for $110 though and think i might grab it. Cheap. Then use the 2500W pure sine wave inverter i have never used when touring. will let me charge all of them throughout the day for the chain saw and blower.

Yeah, being a bit proactive, a piece of surfboard rubber along that bottom shelf will protect precious heads from a crack on the sharp edge. My eldest fell forward onto the bedside table when she was little and knocked out both front baby teeth, blood everywhere and total distress. Sharp corners, bad stuff. I can see the corners are broken , but food for thought.

Parents...

Mum and dad flew down on Friday night to pickup a car which they had lent me. Both tegan and I were violently I'll later that evening, suspected food poisoning from out of date apple juice(we didn't realise) and spent all of Saturday hugging the toilet bowl or sleeping. Seriously i felt like I was going to die.

Mum and dad looked after my daughter the whole day, we were so lucky they were there, being interstate from family with no local support would have made our situation very tough.

Dad has agreed to buy my motorbike(suits him as he already has 2 other bmws) and sell his Harley with the intention to use my bike as a tow vehicle for his motorbike camper trailer. This will give be funds to buy a car which I will be able to drive around for 12 months or longer until I'm ready for the motor replacement.

I have found a car that is suitable 10 mins from my house, a holden adventra, in immaculate condition. Offered the bloke the same as I'm selling the bike for and he's accepted, pending him getting a rwc for it(which I will pay for if it passes).

I feel like I've had win this weekend as the romance with patrols was very very stretched recently.

After my angry thread post was texting the guy I'm interested in buyings holden. A local from mount ev. Was planning to lend him my scan tool to diagnose a fault in the car I'm looking at, was going to drop it around tonight. Let him know I wouldn't be able to make it as per my situation and this is the response I get. What a dude, absolute stranger to me but still makes an offer like this. It's nice to know people like this still exist out there.

Good score Toddstar, they will burn awesome but remember they’ll give standard blades/chains a really good workout due to steel wear fragments over the years. ‘Apparently’ retailers aren’t supposed to sell them anymore as firewood due to brake Asbestos contamination. Lots and lots of dead straight safe train lines across Australia without braking needed I would think?

Yeh I only use old chains that are near their end of the life on them. I know one shouldn't burn railway sleepers for your above reasons but figure they properly have been sitting in the paddock for 20 odd years getting weathered so would think any oil and brake asbestos contamination would be minimal if any. I only throw one on overnight so its not like i'm just running the fireplace on toxic railway sleepers.

My oldest daughter and myself snuck away yesterday down to Sheepyard flat for an overnighter. I soo needed this. Albeit short it was relaxing. We slowly meandered our way home from Jamieson to Eildon via the ever windy Eildon-Jamieson rd to Rubicon, Snobs creek, Taggerty, Healesville then home.
What a beautiful drive. It’s so green out there and just made it so worth it. 787387873978740

Fixing my rearview mirror today. There is a screw on the back that allows you to tighten the ball joint.
Now it doesn't adjust position when I flick the switch at the bottom of the rearview.

So I’m pretty happy about that because I would hate to explain to the wife what happened if you know what.

Daddy’s favourite little girl!

I was wondering why she was asking me questions about the Gq the other day and found this in her bag this morning.

Apparently she had an assignment at school to tell the class about her favourite thing!

Had to cancel the order as the original vendor advertised stock then didnt have any, nothing even due from manufacturers for another month, ended up contacting Traralgon trailers and they had physical stock, not cyber stock, so 2 days later, its here.

BUT put my foot down to enter traffic on the way home, geezus!!! Fast(as fast as u would expect from a powerful non turbo car) acceleration but what was more pleasant was the fast and sharp gear change at 70 from first to second and then keep accelerating without blinking, so much power.

Sent from my G8141 using TapatalkWould have to disconnect the awd box right? Haha mate I'm going for a vanilla, budget engine conversion. Plan is to spend less than 10k all up ex labour. Its not my max budget but George and I are keen to see if it can be done. All the Mark's bits that are needed total about 6k, but there are some bits I may not need due to buying a complete car. Based on my experience so far driving the car, it will transform the patrol into a complete weapon. Also most complaints about this motor seem to revolve around fuel consumption. I've done less than 100ks so far, but the fuel consumption has dropped to low 18s and is continuing to fall. I'm being very reserved in how I drive it but I think it should really be on par with the 3L fuel consumption. Cant wait!!!

Despite the weather doing it's best to mess me up, I have finished my build of my gift to my best mate, for his first which is due in September. All that's left now is some bog over screws that dont come out and over defects in the grain, and a full paint job. As you see it is the basic color scheme white over raw.http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2019/07/84.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2019/07/85.jpghttp://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2019/07/86.jpg

Finally was able to order a new radio for the Patrol, got sick and tired of not being able to understand any incoming transmissions on the old Uniden unit.
I have ordered the GME XRS-330X and an external speaker, my hearing is pretty poor so more directed volume has got to be better, I will make a bracket to mount it around the map lights on the roof just behind the rear view mirror. I am looking forward to the replay function on the GME unit.

Yes I've set it to private because of the song in the background (copyright issue). Try this link and let me know if you still have trouble seeing it.

Absolutely brilliant to see the old yota full at work again mate. Poor old bugger spent enough time sitting patiently.

I've been almost non existent on the Forum for over 12 months building up a 'sole trader' driving school from scratch.

It's been a challenge, and I love challenges - except mud and water. lol.

I bought my car brand new on 01 August last year (2018) and it's just ticked over 99,000km. I travel about a 350km radius of my home town preparing Learners and others to sit their driving test (Practical Driving Assessment - PDA) to transition from L's to P's, auto to manual and overseas to WA driver's licences. So far, in less than 12 months, I've helped supervising drivers with 98 passes.

Working with 16 and 17 year olds is really rewarding - because I give them back after an hour or so. PML.

If they don't slow down after I tell them to, I brake for them coz I can, with my dual pedals. Enough said. lol.

I love my job.

I've still got my ute. So glad it didn't sell. I need a fishing trip sooner rather than later! 79218
