Folks, both my wife and I are over the moon with our daughter Maddie qualifying for both the Australian age and Australian open Swimming Championships and Olympic and Paralympic selection trials in Adelaide 3 weeks time.

What a remarkable journey for a girl who was a able bodied basketball player, however she gave up a promising career with basket due to being bullied by other basketball players because of her intellectual disability.

20 months later, as they say the rest is history, she is now an accomplished swimmer on her long journey for Tokyo 2020 games.

Shouted myself a new Makita 18V impact wrench (DTW1002). Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr out what a beasty!! Brushless motor and variable speed. Cut tyre rotation time in half at least, and raised the jack so quick a passing cop gave me an official warning about my speed!! Haha love it!

Could i live without it? Yes. But why would I want to? :D

Edit: Correction to model no.

Wind up jacks don't like being wound with power tools. Leant that one the hard way.

Did you end up taking butcher country tk or New Caledonia tk when you were headed north (or south depending where you started)?

We came from the south into the Macalister then up to the Howit high plain then down south along the Caledonia ... on the last day we climbed Dingo and the guys that were not there last time were gob smacked that Jim drove up that in his 80 series in 2 wheel drive..

Driving up that this time was so much better as we could all just concentrate on our own driving and not stress about getting a broken Toyota out of there as it is epic.

Gob smacked to say the least. This is not a hill you look at and go "yeah it looks ok". Even in 4wd you had to concentrate a lot, Jim doing this in 2wd, with the amount of steps, rocks, boulders and switch backs we did in the one climb had all of us shaking this guys hand.

Now to find the time to wash the car....

Yeah winching is not my favorite thing to do.....
What also made me happy was driving back on the freeway a cop on a bike passes me and has a good stare at this Patrol I'm driving with 35's on and absolutely cover in mud. Then 10 seconds later I'm passing a Highway Patrol 4WD towing a box trailer, which obviously had their trail bikes in it. Probably coming back from Dargo. All three cops in the car were staring as I slowly over take. Lol
I thought I better not stop for a coffee on the way home just incase they do the same.

Then what made me laugh was a minute before this I pass a black D22 Nav. A little dirty and only 31's. Definitely nothing the cops would pick on. He got beside/ just behind the cops and refused to pass and there was a massive line of traffic behind the cops and this Nav.

Yeah... You were pretty disappointed to say the least on the weekend. Driving like an old grandma was certainly not your thing. But you made the best out of the situation you were in. I really thought you were going to turn around and go home after the first night.

And keep us posted on what they find, or tell you. It will be interesting to see what was causing the motor to "run away" like it was.

Runs away on downhill stuff where you would usually have good engine braking. Wanted to spin up to about 3 g. Kinda thought it was just a little bit different but became really evident in the steep low range stuff. Seemed to get worse towards the end of the weekend.

Happy my Cross country may be in the fast lane! Fingers crossed... However there is a backlog now from fairlane on the scoops, which MAY take longer then the original cooler ETA of about 6 weeks.
Wonder if I should get them to send the cooler first and just run it with the original tiny scoop. lol

I did that for a while till I was able to find a panel beater to cut the hole in the bonnet and paint etc, runs much better now that the scoop has been fitted but it can be done, you may need to replace the foam on the top of the cooler as it will get deformed though.

Had a club training day today, 5 assorted vehicles, 4 blokes and 3 ladies.
Went through all the basics, tyre pressures, recovery points, recovery gear and recovery techniques.
All scenarios then reverse hill starts, climbing a track, line selection and why etc etc.
They were all nervous about the hill climbs, we use an abandoned quarry with easy to downright bloody scary climbs all about 30 to 75 meters in length. After a bit of mentoring there were vehicles going everywhere. Up and down most of them, queuing for their turn.
It was such a satisfaction to see them all having a ball in their new four wheel drives, they are all champing at the bit waiting for the next club trip.
A great day out!

This was back in the day when they were called Victoria Bitter.

We went up there once a few years ago and will definitely go back. Most caravan parks start to take bookings in February for the next year's summer, but if your there during summer you get first option to rebook. That's what makes it difficult, we prefer to going to different parks every year.

We booked for the next year when we turn up. Its a real struggle to get into the caravan park if you havent booked 12months ahead. It is crazy busy at that time but staying in the caravan park is great for the kids. We know a heap of families now that go there the same time as us. So its great for us parents too. We catch up each year and have a good drink.

Like I said my youngest lost 45 kg now he kows ppl
like Jeff fennech, dedication and hard work, if it was easy
everyone would be doing it, he's about your age too
Power to you Winnie, what's the goal 86kg??
Just want to be 90kg or under in time for the wedding next year.

That is what I am doing now... No sugar at all. Bacon and eggs for brekky every day, salad for lunch and meat and veg for dinner. No spuds, no rice, no pasta.
Lost 12kg in 6 weeks so far.
Also no grog!
Good job mate.
Another good "diet" for guys is to cut out the three b's: beer bread and butter. Dad does it for a few months every year and it works. But I'd agree sugar is the enemy... Makes the hair fall right off ya!

Funny though, the diet I am doing calls for high fat content, so instead of oil I use butter for cooking. I thought it was weird at first but it's working so I will keep doing it.

If your 183cm then 88kg would be a good weight, there is a formula which ive forgotten
Ive been 183cm and 84 kg ish all my life and can eat anything I like, no idea why
Like I said power to you , dont lapse after the wedding though, remember what a lot
of us here say what you do when your young will bite you on the butt big time
later on count on it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I guess there's so many options out there and it's different for everyone. I've always had a high fat diet but the sugar has got up in the last few years and I reckon that's what's padded me out lol.

Finally got the lawns done after leaving them for 3 weeks, had some rain so the place looked like crap.
Cleaned the aquarium, lots of hair algae. Will have to get half a dozen Flying Foxes to keep it under control, we only have one now.
The goldfish pond has an aqua-phonics set up for the plants on the back verandah. The roots get a bit thick and block the system so it overflows everywhere. so spent some time shortening them up.
Sorting camp gear for our Madigan Trip and stored all the unwanted stuff in the shed, there's room for more "stuff" now!
Making home made pizzas tonight, Dad and I will have marinated prawns and mussels on ours num num num.
Baby girl is half an hour away, shes visiting for Easter and I'm on my second beer.
You could say its been a "Good Friday"

From my point of view it is much easier to lose than gain. I was forever just over 70kg and wanted to be atleast 80kg. Went to gym the lot and it took forever. I managed to get up to 88kg at one point. Have been super busy since the start of the yeat and have dropped nearly 5kg and currently sitting around 82-83kg. Might need to start some fitness for when I might get married.

I've forever been the same. For many many years, I linger around or just under 78-80kg. Always been a skinny stick figure. Most people that know me and my eating habits cannot believe how much I eat (mostly crap) and do not gain any weight whatsoever.
I attempted gym and some bulking shakes for a little while and I hit it pretty hard and it done nothing ... Supposedly a very quick metabolism.
Nature of my job climbing power poles and towers all day every day takes a lot of out it of me, so burns heaps off but still...
