Yeah the house has a big shed full of steel work benches and a carport off either end of it. Winning!!
Amy's mum is renovating her house and has a nice big wood heater which is being removed and is up for grabs so that will go straight to the shed!

What has made me happy? - knowing i have a couple of great friends!
Mate has been wanting to visit for the last couple of weekends, he wouldn't tell me why he wanted to visit apart from saying he had something to show me.
So yesterday morning him & his missus show up at 8:30 in the morning. After a hour or so chitchat it got the better of me & I had to ask why they had driven 140 km for a visit. He then pulls out a Christmas present!. We had never bought one another presents before so it was a total surprise.
He had decided to buy one of those Kings GPS HD Cameras for himself & thought he would buy one for me as well. We do a lot of trips together and usually film the goings on but needed decent cameras.
70128
Seeing we had a couple of new toys I suggested we try them out so we headed out to a spot I know for a bit of fun. I took them into some terrain that was a bit harder than they were used to but they handled it pretty well apart from a dented sidestep on Cris` Navara. Cameras worked well apart from me putting in a 1 gig chip instead of an 8 gig so the only footage I got was of the main street coming back to town. Cris had a 32 gig chip in his so got all the tracks that we had done.
Asked him why he had bought the camera for me & he replied that it was for doing the trips with them over the years & for showing them the ropes, they were new to camping & 4wding when he bought his Navara in 2010.
Thanks Cris & Brenda, had a great day yesterday, Its great to know you have friends you can rely on, especially ones that drive 140 km on a 38 degree day to deliver a present!
Now I have to find something for them.........................

As for me. We sold our place on the weekend 60k over reserve. Stoked to say the least!
unfortunately we missed out on Friday on the house we put in our offer for. I dont understand it, but its sinking in now, since its been 13 years between buying houses, the owners have a price range. 750-820k. We offer 830k and still miss out.
So we are back looking at houses...

Thank fark somebody else agrees with me and isn't sympathetic towards these people. House we are in now is the only house I have ever bought. But during that process, I have never ever met such $bonus$ desperate lying cockroaches in my life.

On reflection, bit harsh. But I don't like land crabs as you may have worked out. Push the limits at all times for maximum commission I get that but still.......................
When I placed my offer on my place the landcrab called me back and asked me if i could come up 1k on my offer. WFT 1k?? I knew then and there this was BS and said it's that or see ya later. She then said OK they'll accept your offer. F'ing cokarse.
Bought my 2nd via private sale. I bought for less than market and she got more than she would with a land crab sale.

We have also learnt that if Asians are also interested in the same house. Dont even bother trying. The Asian that bought ours counter bidded instantly as soon as someone put their hand up. A few places we have watched. It was Asians who win everytime at bidding. Quite intimidating it was to watch. They dont fark around when it comes to realestate.

Yep, I hate them with passion too.... greedy good for nothing bastards always trying to push the price up..... bought my place 12 years ago. Place had been empty for 3 months, owners were desperate to sell due to already having bought another place and moved in with a bridging loan...... at the time it was a buyers market, plenty of houses on the market..... landcrabs were asking for too much anyway wanted 300K, so I low balled them at 260k. They came back straight away and asked for 290k.... so I turned round and told him, Im not messing about 270k is my final offer, no more..... they kept calling back like Plassys bloke asking for an extra k or 2...... i said nah, take it or leave it, Im in no hurry

On the flipside, you'd be happy with the ones that push prices when you're selling.
They're after the commission. Turnover is their game. They have to play seller and buyer off against each other (or should that be "manage the expectations of"???) as quickly as possible to move onto next deal, and the next bimmer or merc...

The new Redgum wood splitter with the Honda motor is an expensive but nice bit of kit. I have a small jigger that lifts the wood up to the splitter and then in a matter of seconds the job is done. The splitter can also be set vertically for big chunks of wood, but I'll have to get help to do that.

The utes are slow. You need a fairly good setup to top the 200 as you just cant compete against the auto.
You only need about 120kw and 400nm to be quicker than a V8 cruiser ute with exhaust and 4" snorkel. I have done this officially too. Timed run down the strip. You can get a 200hp TD to get down in 16.5sec.

Interesting as the 5w40 is the same at operating temp as the 15w40 viscosity wise. The 5w is just a little thinner when cold.
As long as the concentrate is an anti-freeze/boil and not just inhibitor. Although you generally wont see much gain running any higher than 50/50

Thought I'd give another stubby of my first batch of home brew a try. My first try was too early after bottling, so it was kinda like goats piss, even now its still too early, 2 1/2 weeks or so, needs another week atleast. But I must say. Not fecking bad! Not cloudy at all. Can't wait until next week and I'll give a few a good nudge and see how I pull up. Not a beer to my taste, the next batch will be though as I've added two different types of hops into it. But yeah! I'm a little impressed with how it went. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Well it wasn't today, it was about a month ago.
Bought a splashback for the kitchen makeover. It arrived about 2 months ago, I didn't unpack it as it's best to keep things packed until you need it. There were some bumps in the packaging, but I thought nothing of it. Move forward 1 month and I unpack the splashback. Sure enough it's damaged.
I contact the supplier/manufacturer. They were exceedingly apologetic & helpful. Sent out a new splashback as fast as they could, got it within 3-4 days from QLD to VIC. They couldn't have done more, kept me up to date and happy.
The supplier/manufacturer was Reflections Splashback in QLD somewhere, highly recommended.
I'm going to try and tag Cuppa as he was interested in this stuff.

Thanks Matt, you may have seen in another thread ("http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/showthread.php?30060-What-did-you-make-today&p=708531#post708531”) that I ended up going with tiles in the end. Couldn’t justify the expense of ‘Reflections’, as I believe you have to buy full sheets. Tiles came from the Masters closing sale & cost me around $50 or $ 60 by the time I bought adhesive. For those who want glass the ‘Reflections’ seems like a cost effective way of getting the same effect, including heat resistance. Would love to see yours when it’s done.

The deaths of three women, who disappeared from the upmarket Perth suburb over 14 months between 1996 and 1997, sparked Australia's longest-running and most expensive police investigation.
Bradley Robert Edwards has been charged with the abduction and murder of Jane Rimmer, 23, and Ciara Glennon, 27.

I don't know what a normal infant car seat is like but we are using a removable capsule so the bloody thing is massive! Need to get another seat though because changing it between cars is annoying

Amy's Aurion is effing massive compared to the Patrol inside. The passenger seat in her car can nearly go all the way back with the seat in there.
I'm just annoyed that work gave me an extra cab instead of a dual cab ute so I can't put her seat in the work car and use their fuel!

Well after a busy past couple weeks starting with my grandfather passing away from a heart attack last Thursday before Christmas, having a very quiet somber Christmas, flying out to Tasmania on the 27th for the funeral, landing back in Melbourne and getting home on Friday night, then leaving the next morning to go camping for a few nights north of Pineapple flat over New Years , I'm glad to be home to rest for a few days!!

Tell 'em you want to go twice as far and get out half way, it'll cost you nothing then.
Yep, it does help, every little bit does.
I use these fuel vouchers at the local servo, saves me 4c/litre. Never seen anyone else use them. I reckon I'd save close to $100-$150 a year doing that.

We have been running a hospital since my Grandson got sick. Two more visitors are now in bed after vomiting throughout the night. On New years eve the yota van started making real bad noises from the around the clutch area. I was still a bit wonky after my bout of gastro, so called the RACV on the first. It turned out that the alternator was shot but the noise was presenting itself at the rear of the engine. Got a replacement from Autopro today for $200, and an Auto Elec provided a conversion harness for $25 bucks. The alternator is worth more than the van but we are mobile again.

Copperhead we reckon too mate. Picture was actually quite deceiving, not huge, about 1.2-1.5m once scared him/her out. Our concrete tanks leaking outa the walls and being a 37 today here I reckon it was licking the walls seeping in our quiet absence.
