Yesterday more than today, but my work put on a morning down at the rally school in Mt Cotterel to thank us for hitting some massive milestones last year. Got to get a bit loose in a fully specced up Evo, did a bunch of laps and picked up some new skills, then rode shotgun as one of the instructors showed us all that we really REALLY don't know how to drive.

Bogged! Off thru local state forest. Little LR 1st hill easy peasy. Thru to power lines down to creek crossing, nearly dry, boring!
Off to favourite mud stretch usually LR 2nd pick line, right foot as required. NOT TODAY!

In 30 mts and hung up on diffs. Wotda wotda! No going back and no second vehicle!

So after discussing the details of winch signals with Short n Blonde, which include a lot of arm waving and voice raising from the winch monkey ( me ).

And many extended middle fingers from the driver ( her ) we set off on 2hrs and 300 mts of backing/driving and 5 full winch pulls.

Mud from ahole to brekky and grins from ear to ear!

First time ever had to use the winch in anger and another feather for the PIG.

Never had to have another vehicle recover it, gonna be sorry to see it retire in a few short months!

Home and clean recovery gear and PIG, just in time for it to start raining.

All in all fellas a most wonderfully misspent morning.

The ball weight is only 180kg and the overall weight is about 2900kg... she is a big beast 24ft long.

Tows really well...

As for me using my car the trip interstate was an emergency trip and this morning i was just dropping a van off down the road.

I will get the ute back at the end of the week and when the new tow car is bought i will have the ute full time after that.

Yeah, best wishes for a good price BA...

Agents want Auctions because it is usually quick money (much quicker than average sale times) IE potentially within 6 weeks, less work with minimal negotiating etc and hides their incompetence if they can't get the valuations right.

Auctions have their place I s'pose but I would want a hot market with high clearance rates before I would consider using the method which Perth def is not.

yep, auctions not a good idea over here at the mo........... in fact I'd say selling a house during this current downturn would be a right pain in the arse....... we had a not in the letter box from one of the agents the other week, saying that the median house price had fallen 50-60K in this area in 6 months, which is just great news

Thought it might be a nice idea to take the old jayco out for one night for a bit of fun, last minute thing. Couldn't have chosen a worse night, far out it was wild!!

First off thought to just go to Murrundindi, thought state forest would be fine with dogs. . . No dogs bugger, better do the right thing so thought I'd just try the spot up two hills rd. Getting dark now but all good. Not bad but other campers, vehicles, bikes around- never seen so much traffic around that area.

Then came that crazy storm huge winds pissing down dogs literally s#!tting themselves. Decide to pack up head home, open the door into a lake, pack up in the pissing rain head home @ 4 in the morning. Trees down everywhere & crap all over the roads, bloody Armageddon!!. . . Reckon it would have to be the smallest time away to time spent cleaning ratio ever!!

Got a loan of this little baby for our next run out to the centre. Hooked up a couple of old batteries that had been charged up and away she went and layed down a satisfactory weld. And its gas-less too.
Means I can leave the stick bush welder at home, it works and has been used in anger twice. But it is hard to use as there is no current control whereas the mig has wire feed control to match amps plus more wire out of the tip lowers the amps too.
Have read using a length of chain in the circuit, shift the welder cable along the chain until the amps are good.

Went over the ute today and found a small box of fuses, $9.10 in change under the seats and that there is $10-15 of fuel in the tank. Also the 5 tyres have around 90% tread and will fit Mrs mudsane's van, so there is my money back. I sort of had an idea that it could be roadworthy with a bit of work, but it will need a bit too much done on it. As well as a bush bomb it will be a great parts car.

On a spin the old fella saw all my hunting gear and took that too..
Been contemplating getting out for a while so gave him a figure of my gear cost me plus $100 and he put out his hand to shake it..
So sad the old girl is gone but happy it's gone to someone who's gunna use it and respect it..

They have a good send/deliver system. When I ordered all my cooling stuff, order was 2.30pm, and I had it 9am next day!
Yeah they're 40km's away from me, but still.... Not bad.

Every order I've done they have stuffed up in some way. Still use em though as their air filters are cheapest by a mile

After my grizzle in the angry thread I am happy the delivery has finally arrived.

In it was a GME PLB for our next outback trip, logged on, registered and ready to go just in case we need it. roofy

Also club 4x4 has my insurance sorted out and will start the policy the day before we leave, then we can cancel the remaining 5 weeks on the existing policy.
Added the extra $13500 outback recovery as well for Justin. They seem to be very easy to deal with and will insure anything you want, bit of a blast of fresh air in the industry.

Saw a missing member surface this arvo too.

So the glass is definitely half full.

66580

When we did the Madigan Line 2 of the 4 cars were carrying that exact welder. We pulled it out 3 days from anywhere and welded the bottom ring back onto the McPherson Strut on a Hilux or we were going to burn it!

Also used ti to weld the end back on a HiMount Brake Shaft in the guts of Hell one night, would have been a walk out after 15 hours without it that day too.

GREAT BIT OF KIT!

Scored a full M Sport recaro interior for my budget Krautmobile build. The seats are in great condition apart from the driver seat which needs re-covering. Had a test sit ant they are the best car seats i've ever sat in bar none.
Sorely tempted to see if I can find a set to put in the Maverick too.
