73083Hey Irish, looks good, pic looks right way up for me too. Just in the process of putting in some Autotecknica seats in mine at the mo. They seem pretty good but will have to go for a drive to see how comfy they are. The only thing i don't like is to adjust the recline they have the spinny wheel thing as opposed to a lever. Makes it pretty hard and awkward to adjust whilst driving i dint know why they make seats like that. Grr . . . Got do the xr ones adjust recliner?

73083They look awesome! A pair of XR seats are on the list for me too.
Do they interfere with the centre console or seat belts at all?

Putting mine in its surprising how tight the seats are in the GQ's for such a massive car. Guess the centre console is pretty big. .

Winnie, nah they are fine. I'm using a set of those Huracan seat adapters on the standard rails, dropped right in and no binding. Bit less headroom, but not enough to be worried about.
Rossco, yeah mine are just twisty knobs, but they have adjustable lumbar support which is a big bonus.

If you can manage to find seats from an XR ute I am sure they don't use the knobs to recline.

Just put mine in, not sure if i like em yet, time will tell i guess. Yeah those bloody twisty knobs are crap in comparison to a lever, There's is no way you can adjust it (without being awkward as) without pulling the seat all the way forward so it's clear of the pillar and it's still tricky unless you open the door. Grrr silly twisty knobs. . .

I am happy to be on a remote trip for work again, drove through the Flinders to Marree yesterday and sat in the Marree pub getting drunk with the locals.
Today I drove from Marree to Marla via the Oodnadatta Track.
As I am on my own I could stop when I wanted and had the music cranking loud with the likes of Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and the Stones.
I could get used to this.

Finally got my old early 1970`s fiberglass 4 meter Bertram Caribbean boat back on the water on the weekend after sitting under a tree & full of rubbish for the last 4 years with a blown motor. 3 months of work, stripped down, removed the back to back seats, new flat deck & carpet. Fresh coat of paint & a new Mercury Lightning XR 40 HP motor. Also rebuilt the trailer with new 15 inch wheels & hubs to replace the dicky 10 inch wheels it had on it so I can take it off road. Setup mainly for trolling & casting lures amongst the timber. Came up alright for a boat that is nearly 50 years old.
Found out that the new motor is actually made by Tohatsu, which is owned by..........Nissan!. Gotta be happy with that.

So there was a competition from IGA Liquor if you spent $15 or more on any JD product you go into the draw to win a share of a JD "Single Barrel", barrel. A full barrel gets you around 270 700ml bottles. Which is seven 700ml Jack Daniels Single Barrel select bottles valued at $700 per winner. So I enter this comp maybe a month ago and left it at that.
I get an email today and I bloody WON! Awesome! Something going my way for a change.

Got some things sorted. First on the clubby than on the wifes x5.
Changed the heater tap and flushed out what was left of the coolant. Filled up with straight water for now.
Started to take out the suspension and noticed that the boots on the steering rack are both split. Another job to do.
I'm getting brake shutter which I believe is due to the front rotors being warped . They seem to be not in great condition so these most likely will be replaced.
Struts and springs are out on one corner and once I get them all out they will be up for sale with the wheels. Don't think that they are that old, car handled well I just want to get it back to more to an original spec.
Then I swapped out a noisy front cv on the wifes BMW x5. Bloody hell the thing has 200k and I don't think it has ever been changed. A decent slegie and half a can of wd40 with 1/2 hour of banging before it popped.
Well that's enough for today. http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2017/09/110.jpg

Yeah bud I have been meaning to come over and see you mate, and pick up the ice box, but, the trailer is full, and I am kinda waiting until me hell is over with the council and the lawyers. This shit has been taking up a big chunk of my time, and more so my money. Which has dwindle bloody fast in the last month.
I hope all is well, or getting better with you mate.
Take your time no rush, Ive been lucky enough through my insurance to get someone to do my lawns and gardens
twice a month, transformed the place. Ill give it another coat of wax for you. its a useful one as its a front loader as you know
stick a heap of your wine in the ice block section and block up the ice hole to keep it vermin free.

Put a smile on a fellow Patrol owners face today .
Seems he swapped a Navara for a early model Zd patrol ,without getting it checked out first ,ie test drive ,mechanical check etc .
Says the check engine light keeps coming on and it won't rev over 3 grand , I had a look , took the engine cover off oil stains on ic , not looking good .
I have a spare one he can have ,I then got him to start it and I pumped the primer and it reved past 3000 revs .
So we changed the fuel filter and it drives like it should do with no check engine light .
Just have to get him to maintain it properly and fit some NADS things and he will be happy
I think it has been a little while since it has seen some proper love so to speak .

On Friday Night as i walked into the Portsea Pub for Dinner i keeled over in pain with what seemed to be a new presentation of a Kidney Stone to the Left side damn it. It floored me. For those that have experienced a Kidney Stone before you will know that the pain is immense but often will come in waves. Mine hit hard for about 30 minutes but subsided enough to have some dinner but i had to stay off the grog damn it.
So while kicking back on my 3rd Beer watching the AFL Grand Final on Saturday fully pain free it hit again!! Damn it to hell. I saw out the Grand Final then went off to hospital. Sure enough the pain subsided just in time to arrive at the hospital so i looked like a dick! Hospitals take it pretty seriously though and a Urine test showed Blood in the urine. Damn. So they gave me some drugs to relax the muscles with a hope that i could pass it.
Sunday Morning i was Pain free again, had some breakfast, when the fluid hit my kidneys it had me on the floor again. its an 8/10 gents on the pain scale. Hurts like hell. Popped some Panadol and Nurafen and went and got the scripted filled and popped the pills. I risked driving home (passenger) to Geelong 200kms hoping i could make it to the Geelong Hospital. Pain stayed away. I got home and think i might have Passed it last night... Yeah Me!!! Im pretty Certain. I have had surgery twice for Kidney Stones and it Sux Balls. Passing this one would be a real Winner.

Had to drill through the rear door which was a bit spooky, but just went ahead and did it with no probs. Didn't hook it into the reversing lights as I won't always want it on when going backwards, it's a bit bright. Just put a switch inline in the cabin so I can turn it on/off whenever I like.
Easy on/off for my shovel as well, just need one okky strap to hold that on.

Yeah that's what I thought, $12K bloody hell, it must have 500,000 on the clock or something??
No pics of the holder, I'll see if I can take some today for you. It's really simple, just a reverse L shape, bolts on via the top 2 bolts that hold the spare wheel onto the rear door. Come up to a small T piece, one side holds the light, the other has 2 vertical prongs that the shovel slides over.
I thought all was well with it until I shut the rear door and the shovel rattled a fair bit, may need some additional bracing?????

Going along the west coast then down the south coast. Gunna put my ute in the competition at the Albany Show on 10 Nov and staying in Esperance for 4 nights from about 16th, then it's flip a coin as to where we go. Wouldn't mind heading towards the start of the Great Australian Bight and have a look around there, seems we'll be in Esperance.

It was closed a couple of months ago due to floods washing the causway out. They have put in a temp causway at the Hopetoun end, but the other end, Bremer Bay end is still closed or very rough. I was talking with the rangers there and apparently Hopetoun in the Ravensthorpe shire worked with DPAW, the Progress Association and other groups to get a road through, while the other end decided to just block off the damaged roads until they could get to them. Ravensthorp want the tourist trade and they are prepared to do a bit extra to get it.

Bought a shit box 95 Toyota Corolla the other day for 500 bucks, guy done a back yard job re spray but its only got 134k on the clock and the inside is immaculate :)
Went 2 the mechanic this arvo because said shit box was making a metal 2 metal noise which I though might be brake related.... sure enough put it up on the hoist and said the noise was the brake wear indicator and I needed new brakes...... Asked him how much did I owe him and he said not 2 worry about it :)

heard from the estate agent today, of all things to happen, the owners have pulled it off the market for some unknown reason. asked the agent what the highest offer was, turns out it was 22K over asking price and we are simply not interested in bidding over asking prices. this house wasnt the one but hopefully the one will pop up soon!

Get used to it Nic. Thats how the cookie crumbles mate. We were offering that and then some over their advertised price and still getting done. Long gone are the days of this is how much they want, first in best dressed. Or, you get it for less than their asking price.
Best of luck!

Hey did you see that show on ABC of that chef who lives on a farm in the south coast of NSW? Cant remember the name sorry. He had a big blackberry issue on his farm, so he fenced off the area, and got in 20 goats and let them go nuts. 4 days later they had eaten every last bit of the blackberry. It was pretty impressive actually how fast they ate through it all.
