We ended up having about 36mm of rain in a short time, it was funny watching everybody panicking trying to move their meals inside.
We stayed in the rain for a while but it became torrential and the wind started up and the wind picked up and started blowing things over so we caved and went inside.
Was a good fun night.

I thought the same mate that all chassis off my shape gu4 are the same but there are some differences like the front ,and yesterday I also noticed the tow bar fitting is way different to my 3L ,both factory tow bars.
Looking forward to the recovery points. John trial fitted the prototype yesterday and it's a winner!

OEM radiator dude. Was advised to use this over a larger 3 core copper/brass type.

This was up north, diggers west way on the Calder. He could have lost much more like his truck, or even lives as he swerved , the thing could have tipped over with all the concrete gear loaded in the back.

This as been to Jonothans house, Mudskis house, workshop at my work, had a lot of tons of pressure put on it by a lot of different means and Marks press managed to push it in 5mm.
I've since been heating it up and soaking it in every possible substance known, with the heat / cold approach and last hour or so got it 10mm out!

I hate losing... So it's coming out!

The previous owner fished a lot, and kept dunking the car into the ocean when he was dropping the boat off. Hence why my car had that surface corrosion across the whole underbody, so this being the way it is doesn't surprise me one bit. I don't think it's ever been out since being fitted by the dealer.

Mate this one is stuck, real good. I had it soaking in Hydrochloric acid after it was soaked it phosphoric acid just to release the rust. Then heated it up to screaming hot, then hit it with some freeze release and had it under 12ton of pressure and it only move 5mm. If i though about it when i had it i should have cut the tounge off and chiseled the rest out.

Yeah I know of that mix. I didn't have any acetone on hand when I had the bar...It works well though, but its just that little bit too thick and wouldn't run down to where it needs to go. Even CRC was too thick. I had 12T of pressure on it and the bottom support plate of the Press was starting to bow. Lol

Success !!! Finally . . . She is out. Now 2 days of hitting it after soaking it with acetone + auto oil mix, she began moving. But earlier today a bloke told me to pour a can of coke inside and wait an hour.... She came out in 5 hits after that ..... So which one of them helped the most, or a mix of all together, I'm not sure.

What shits me the most is, she wasn't even rusty on the inside ??? Just this clay/dirt around it, but Mostly clean, painted metal once wiped clean. So wtf was holding it in so much.

mine was the same just sand in there and it must have packed in real tight over time, well its out now so you will have to find something else to expend the energy on now.

Ow and I got approved last week for dam near a whole month off next month..
Start on Monday the 9th and don't return until Wednesday the 3rd..
First up mod the van chassis..
Then I have to build a laundry shelf unit for the missus.. she's been bugging me for months and it's getting annoying..
Then the diffs.. was hoping to install but after the latest find I doubt that'll happen..
And throw some fishing and maybe a couple nights camping in there and my mums 50th on the final weekend..

I'm afraid I'm gunna loose my marbles..
Never had 4 weeks off in a row, since I left school 12 years ago...

Yeah its hard... Around the 3 week mark you will start going to sleep at 1am and waking up at 10am and then all of a sudden you have to wake up at 5am for work... Lol

Nice gauge pod, cobber...

That is really nice.... I like that...

Thanks mates. Quite pleased with how it turned out. It's the one from 4x4concepts. Since they didn't have a LH pillar pod, this was about my only option for a factory-type finish.

They don't have one listed on their site but you would have to call them to be sure.

A successful afternoon.

Picked up the outdoor area fridge, an auto/manual hub, 4 jerry cans and two bearings for the air con. Fitted the hub and put the electrical motor back together. Pretty happy with a $20 bill for the air con. Wouldn't like to see what a service call + parts would be.

A continuation of yesterday.
Fitted air con motor and cleaned system all working.
Uhf arrived today (was expecting it on Monday) and fitted, but can't find my bag of cable ties to neaten it up.
Wheels balanced.
It's been a busy 2 days, but have completed a few things.:D

Thanks. I actually did enjoy today. I got up, got the kids ready and sent off to school, then went out in the garage and removed the muffler on my car then put my sway bars back on, then did the nights orders, sent tyem off to the PO, then went for a coffee, then went and picked up a lift pump, then went to ARB, then went to Pirtek, then went to SCA, then went to Repco after i forgot to grt a fuel filter at SCA, then went home and installed the catch can back onto the new donk.
So yeah. I did some stuff. Lol.
Oh then i went out, to dinner with the family and my dad to our favorite restaurant and had a really nice dinner, came home had a cuppa coffee and now in bed.

I have had a better end to what has been a horrible week.
My son is battling cancer and has been on chemo for the last 3 months, earlier this week he had scans to check the progress and then met with a surgeon to discuss surgery to remove his tumors.
The original cancer was testicular and the surgery to remove it has been scheduled but the surgeon said he could not operate on the other tumors that are in his lungs.
My son and all of us were then devastated thinking it was all over but he met with his Oncologist today and was told that although he still has tumors in his lungs, they had shrunk to half their size and were likely not active. He then went on to say that there were surgeons interstate that can operate to remove them.
He still has a battle ahead of him but we have gone from a feeling of despair to a feeling of hope.

I have not had a drink all week because I wanted to make sure I was available for him if he needed me and booze probably would have distressed me more but tonight I have had a few beers and a few reds and now I am enjoying some bloody nice whiskey and feeling positive about his future.
