Been really busy and haven't had time to be on here lately. Been working away, too.

I did manage to get 2 new tyres for my truck and had the solar panels mounted on the roof, but that's it.

I can handle nights easy as.. with no kids...
Use to do 12/2 shifts out the mines.. no-one to bug you threw the day... Did it easy...
Now I do 8/3 and I'm struggling... Only manage 5-6 hours a day sleep...
Mind you I did do Soundwave on Saturday..

Morning fellas. I am not working nights, infact I'm not working at all ATM, but can't sleep due to back pain. Best way to take my mind off it while waiting for painkillers to work is to trawl the forum. Have learned a lot about how to tune injector pumps over the last couple of nights.

Yep it definitely sucks. Have been off work since Xmas and am going in for an operation on Monday. Not ideal when your only 28yo. But all going well I will be back to work in another 6-8 weeks. Can't wait to go camping and 4wding again.

Hey dominator if you can avoid it don't let them fuse your back it just causes more pain and dramas you loose movement to at least 5 vertebrae if you get 2 done. I looked into it for my back and after talking to 3 doc and a couple of older people with it done I refused to get that op. now I do Pilates and yoga to sort it out plus see a Physio once a week

Have been seeing physio for months now and was doing core exercises until the recent flare up. I have for a bulged disc L5-S1. I am not getting the disc fused. Just getting a discectomy. It is micro surgery where they cut the bulge out and let the disc heal. Have heard a few people warn against fusion and I am really glad I don't have to go down that road.

That sound not too bad I have L2 L3 L4 all with bulging discs that why they wanted to fuse mine I get a couple of flare ups a year but can normally get by its been better now I no longer am a chippy because I m not carrying the weights I used to.

Made the call tonight. Q will be off road after Easter.. started having clutch gearbox issues, pretty sure its the cylinder, but the clutch has half a mill on it so I'm thinking preventative maintenance..
I'm thinking $1500 might go on it, and maybe a turbo kit.. see how we go with the lord of war and finance... :D

my clutch to replace was $1900 but they had to cut the gearbox mount bolts off because they pretty much rusted themselves to seizure. its all good now thoughi did mine at 250000 because it was knackered.

i know what you mean by checking with the finance consultant mine is like trying to get blood from a stone

Yea she's had a good life. Out in the country. To town was a 80k round trip..
When were sporting kids the q would pit on 500+ k's a week.. sometimes 1000 in a week... :eek:

The clutch doesn't slip, but in saying that, these days it would struggle to pull grandma off grandpa...
I'm pretty sure its a leak in the cylinder as its very hit and miss. sometimes there's no issue at all.. but sometimes its a right mongrel..

Well there is a bloke who does make tie rods using 4140 shaft.. 38mm... Huge.. uses the mk2 versions of the gq rod ends (female) and charges over $300.. my guess is insurance would be a fair whack of that...
But it really is pretty simple. Just no square corners is the key..

Sort of - long story - but separation settlement came through (in my favour - who says blokes always dip out??), my missus sold her house in NZ for good coin, just bought another house and move in on the 18th of April - so living it up. The next three weeks will be a blur I'm sure!

Not much mate - put the missus to bed early - had 4 kids over Easter - now just trolling the forum. Tramadol - what's the ailment mate? I was on them for 14 months along with Oxycotin and Endone for a bike accident. Found the Tramadol made me nauseous at times.......

Its a grab at a timber mill, so mix of way overloading the grab, rough as guts operators, and crap ground conditions.. ow and neglect...
Turns out the main pivot pin has completely split threw the the bottom, so I packed up and left at 6.. will be in Sunday night to finish it off now..

Slowly getting used o this night shift stuff tonight has gone a bit quicker, helps when you are actually busy, must say that is one thing I don't like bout night shift is there is way less to do.

Good to hear. Yes keeping busy makes them hours go by. Also a good chance to grab a few extra hours as they roll into day shift and you can help out with maintenance for a few.. well I do anyway.. going threw to 11 today..

Your keen man,I finish at 7. I start at 8.30 instead of 10.30 through the week and on the Sunday I start at 6.30, I prefer to do it that way as I need to pick the kids up after school and have no chance of getting back to sleep once they are home so try and my 6/7 hrs from when I get home at around 8.30am ish.

Yeah it's only an 8 day contract but good nonetheless hopefully it leads into the next job which will have me back on a full on roster.
