Just read threw the cv rebuild thread.. she seams all pretty straight forward..
Still trying to find the swivel hub rebuild..

Ill be throwing in the engine oil cleaner this weekend, should rack up 1000k by the time I shed her to rebuild..

bloody hell i've running in and out of the rain all night taking samples but it could be worse i could stuck in it full time fixing something.

hows the rebuild looking getting all the things sorted before you have a crack or is it going to be piece by piece??

Yea ordered all the big things.
Tie rod ends, new adjustable drag link, full swivel hub and bearing kit, new panhard bushes, new Christmas tree tail lights, as the bar ones keep getting smashed from rocks..
Barn door window seals..
To get, cruze control, injectors done, fix rust, mod the big fellas roof rack to suit when he gets here, and might now be grafting a gu3 alloy bar to the q to.. :p
Also all fluids and radiator hoses..

Going to be a 2g birthday I reckon.. would love new shoes to but that's a bit out of the question atm..

We just hit 0 degrees... That f I'm a welder... :D

Not for a while yet. Im aiming to make the Simpson the start..
But we have a lot to go yet, and our biggest factor is when the house sells..
Need a van still, still need to finish the house.. hopefully have it on the market by Christmas. Gotta get the q up to scratch..
The plan is coming along though.. plenty of weekend work yet to get debt free..

Ay quick q NN in regards to the gear gq gearbox. Is there a way to inspect internals visually with out pulling it out, or half the car apart?

Not really. You can't access all the bolts from the top while its in the car and there isn't enough room to remove the top either. Is yours playing up?

3rd jumps out once gearbox is warm under de-acceleration. I saw a while back a bloke posted the same with his 3rd and 5th gears. Found 2 bits in the bottom and the were said to be clips to hold the gear in..?
So I assume I have a similar issue.
But after half a million of long drives I just wanna check 5th for any signs of abnormal wear.

Sorry bud got super busy at the end of the shift. Maybe check that the stick isn't fouling on the body, like where the sticks come through. If it was popping under load then I'd say you had bigger issues but its only coming out when load is taken away you could also the the shifter bush to make sure it doesn't have excessive play. Other than that it might be a box out jobbie.

Yea its been happening for a while, before I did the lift so I can rule that out.
Yea sincro rings are all still good..
The stick is very sloppy so I might do the stick ball swivel thing.. see if that makes it better

Yea I had this last week.. kids were right lil shits and I got just over 1hr sleep for the break... Was really a long slog and I got to 4, sat for smokeo and crashed... Lucky I have my morning alarm set at 5.30 as that's what woke me, 15 mins before the boss walked in... :D

Yeh most nights are relatively cruizy can be mentally challenging thought as there is no room for error when you are building airplane flaps, they prefer you take your time and do things right, but there is always a constant stream of work so always busy which helps in making the nights go quicker.

No not uni only need a trade, I'm a cabinet maker by trade. Funnily enough only had to do a 6 week course that was fully paid for and got full wages as well. But you are right it is a pretty cool job, have only been doing it for just over 3 months now so I am still learning new things every night which I enjoy as I like the challenge.

What do you do for work, cant be very hard as you are always on here while working.

work at the one out of Donnybrook,greenbushes and pemberton.then went up to the northen terittory,and help set up a mill and did the logging for a year and trained a crew out on mary river station.Cutting red Ebony it was on the pine creek to kakadu highway.One side was the station the other kakadu...Then came back and became a farm worker

Work has moved me to Mukinbudin - about 75k north east of Merredin. It's on the Koorda-Bullfinch Road.

We had a frost last week, but morning temps are around 4-5 degs. I got given some sunny rims, so just gotta swap them over. I'm over split rims. lol.

I'm sure I saw your truck a couple of months ago up near Gidgie.

Its not to bad.. every 3rd weekend is a long one.. I love nights, apart from no sleep, arvos are good because I can sleep, but I see the family more on these shifts than I do days..

Yeh not wrong there I pick the kids up from school every day and get to spend the whole arvo with them until they go to bed, I get a bit less sleep than I would on day shift but once adjusted its all good. When I was on day shift I would leave before they were up and get home just before the young one went to bed most nights.

Hay mate. Sorry to hear about the Q. Hopefully things turn before it sells.
I was thinking the other day have you thought of moving? Dunno, maybe hit up George see if you can tee up some work down this way for a couple of months. I don't think it would take much for word of mouth to spread with a man of your caliber and skills to drum up some work..

There is no unemployment problem! Just ask the peanuts in power. My son has moved to Roma for work.......try getting a house out west to rent :(

Was out for lunch today, started with 2 coopers , probably drank 2 bottles of red with lunch, couple of Jammo's after lunch followed by half a bottle of port on the minibus we hired to get home.
Have now opened another bottle of red at home, thinking I am going to regret this tomorrow but who cares, live for today!
