Hey Stropp I thought about getting the twin one but they didn't list in their sale. How much was it to buy one locker and the twin compressor?

i would go into more detail mate, but seriously its not worth while. it didnt even arrive with the right operating system on it, i had to message them, download and install it myself with their instructions... absolutely farking ridiculous. oh and it wasnt a special case, i ordered two separate units with different model #s and they were both the same.

Well that answers that. As I predicted, ( but hoped wasn't the case ) It is exactly the scenario I had with Eonon on 3 occasions ...

Well not quite, with all the shit under my bonnet couldn't fit the twin one in so just went with the high output, the other drama is there is only one locker available and we can't get it till next week :( The compressor is in and it now has a outlet at the rear of the car next to the tow hitch for pumping tyres etc and the locker will go in next week.
Apparently arb are taking orders and deposits for the lockers and then they will do a production run the cheeky buggers.

Just did fronts today mate. Theres a trick to getting the dust boots on and around the pistons. But took about ten minutes a side after they were prepped for the rebuild. I took heaps of pics and was thinking of doing a walk through thread.

Trick to get the pistons out, use compressed air. In little squirts other wise they go flying. Try stop them completely coming out as it will only push 1 out, then be a pain to get the other side out.
To get the dust boot back on, i put the boot onto the piston but around the middle, not in the groove yet. Then seat the piston in the caliper and tuck the lip on the boot in the caliper. Easier to start at the side that is hard against the caliper then finish on the open side. As you push the piston in, keeping the boot out the way, slide the boot up into the groove then drive the piston home.
Words are not my strong suit. Hope that helps.

For the twin potters I put a piece of wood over both pistons and then a g clamp to hold the wood. Slitghly loosen the clamp a little and use compressed air in the brake line port. Both pistons will move together. Loosen g clamp a little more and repeat until pistons come out.
As for the boot i slid the boot right down until its hanging past the base of the piston, then push in the section ofthe boot into the caliper housing groove, once in, push the piston in.

Exactly! When I first did a caliper I put the pistons in without the boot on the had a hell off a time trying to get the boot to clip into the housing... Lol. After experimenting a few different ways I found this took about a minute to do....

Yeah last thing you want is for the lower half of the stick to drop in to the engine. Just put a terminal cover on the battery and you want have to worry about setting the oil alight...

Mine is the factory intercooled, but its the last of series 3, (early 2004) and ive been told it has no ecu, still mechanical injection ect.... can any one confirm?

Yeh combination of things...I have normally used the 15w-40 but I couldn't get that on special in the 20L drum at the time. Plus penrite specifies that the 15w-50 can also be used when 15w-40 is specified, so we'll see how it goes!
I'm dropping it off with ATOC to get fixed over the new couple days, so fingers crossed!

Penrite has a new line called "extra 10", you can see it on the label there. Basically with "new technology " all their ratings go up by ten. But as said above, it is still compliant to 40 specs.

That's what I used for my snorkel also. Never used one before and first go straight into the A pillar, "don't stuff it up" but it was so easy and neat. I'm thinking compressor mounting, mounting stuff to the fire wall (catch can), holding the CC intercooler down, airbox mounts in radiator support panel, plus many others...

While here, many thanks to John for these. When we realized they didn't fit, he didn't muck about building a prototype out of timber and sending it back and forth from the laser cutters, trial fitting on my car, and then the final build and powder-coat. My haul for the day - prepping for cold weather. 8 liters of engine oil, 12 liters of gear oil for front diff and transmission, 3 liters of LSD gear oil for the rear, 2 liters ATF for the transfer case, fuel and oil filters and diesel anti-gel additive.

Just realized that my LSD oil is 75W-140! Is that a problem where the manuals recommend 75W-90? This was the only Castrol LSD diff oil I could find.

Thanks, bigwesty! Is the GL-5 oil the right one for the manual transmission or should I have bought GL-4?

Matt what motor again I have a manual next to me ,so I can check.
It suggests a 10-30 engine oil for up to minus 20, and a 15-40 for
down to minus 10.
gearbox oil they suggest API GL4
diffs they suggest API GL5
hope this helps

Looks interesting...
The handheld came with an earpiece and vox mic as well as the handset mic.
But that throat one looks interesting. I wonder how comfortable it would be?

This arrived while I was having a lie down. bloody huge pump, bigger
and better than my "big black pump I brought from Big Balls years ago.
Also received a tyre repair kit as a bonus.
Was going to mount it under the bonnet but way too big.
This pumps up tyres fast which is good IMO

Nice one hodge, the runva will do the trick and get you out of most spots! Which model did you get? First time I used mine I thought it was a bit slower than other winches around, but definitely good value for money.
The install should be pretty easy too, a few of us have done them recently. Some details on my build page if you need
