They are the OEM looms that are used for the bumper lights on the GQ mate. They often get cooked by the exhaust on one side and ripped out on the other. Lol.
Oh, OK. I have a mate who got his GU about 2-3 months before I got mine. His has brake lights where there should be brake lights. Looks good from the rear.

Got some 12mm MDF for the top shelf of my rear cargo storage system. The thing is almost complete.
Fridge, slide, 3 shelves, compartments. Made out of 13mm RHS, gal sheet, sweat & blood.

I think Patrolapart sell that loom to make the rear lens work,
Some have done indicators and brakes , being a series 3 I went for
reverse lights and brakes using LED globes, love the effect, lol

In the body itself? Or are you talking about the bumper lights? The body lights don't work from factory, they are dummy lights. You can buy aftermarket GU lights which have the bulb holder in the lights. All you need to do is wire them in. Piss easy.

Dimples out of those two. Both are really only good as a mixer in my opinion. As for me, I'm on the Chateu De'cardboard cask wine this weekend. I have a funny feeling I'm gonna get bill shock next week, or the week after, or the week after that. So I need to save my coin, after going on a retail therapy bender the last two weeks.
I could do with a nice Scotch and coke right about now too.....

you can make a 318 coupe or sedan look like an M3 coupe or sedan but you wont make it go like one, 318 is a 1.8 4 cylinder, the E36 M3 was a 3lt 6cylinder with tuned suspension etc etc

No you dont need it Nic. You have everything already plumbed in. Just swap out the IC and your done.
Just be aware of the MAP sensor port in the front of the IC. The small tapered section where the Oring from the MAP sensor seat may not be deep enough. IT wasn't when I got a similar cooler for my ZD and I nearly broke the MAP sensor when trying to bolt it down as it wasn't sitting flush. SO i had to give the tapered section a quick zip with the drill to make it that little deeper, gave it a coat of silicone and screwed the MAP sensor down no worries.

Run it via relay mate so that it only comes on when you get oil pressure. So then you can still have the ignition on, no motor running, and the pump wont operate. If your motor has the switch and not the sender unit that is. Not sure how to wire it up using the sender. Also run a fuel line by pass too so if the pump dies the pump can still suck the fuel through.
Winnie
6th September 2016, 12:29 PM
I believe with this Carter pump that fuel can flow freely even if the pump has failed.
I will just wire it to ignition, I can't think of a time I have had the car switched to ignition without the engine running anyway.

Is it to late for you to swap to a 4601hp?
Wiring to ignition is fine. Makes services easy for priming the fuel filter prior to starting.
Winnie
6th September 2016, 12:51 PM
Damn, yeah it is.
From what I can tell the only difference between the 4600hp and the 4601hp is the pump pressure?
mudski
6th September 2016, 12:54 PM
Yes it can but being a rotary vane pump there still is a chance of the vanes blocking the fuel path if the pump stops. Also if the pump fails there might be a small loss in top end rev power due to the extra route the fuel needs to take. The by pass was easy to do though...

Yeah that's who I went through. I went and bought the compressor and as I checked out, I signed up for the newsletter. Got the newsletter later that evening which advertised the EDS computer, so went back and got one of them as well.

I've no doubt they are a great compressor { I have one } but
when looking on Ebay the L/per min varies a heap,
you can get a double ender for $130 now thats value.
I had a 3/4hp one in the other 4x4 and I thought that could pump.
These new ones are far better IMO, and cheaper I paid $600 for
the Big Balls Big Black pump as it was branded back then

all I need do is laser cut a mounting plate and cut a bit out of the OE plastic bumpers
Would anyone have a spare one who is close by I could use as a template.[back bumper]
The Leds are 100mm diameter fully sealed as well

Mate, in owning 30+ vehicles in 40 years my bride just keeps shaking her head as to why I kept the Patrol. I can't import but it's in semi-storage at the moment, we are hoping a few referendums pass and the folks that are looking at the vineyard will grow POT instead, much more profitable and impossible to get new permits otherwise ... ;) Oh, so your legal in HI ? :)

Tough Dog 2 inch lift kit for my GU. Shocks, springs, steering dampner and caster bushes.
Will install on Thursday if I am not working.
I have the same suspension set up as you, my springs are King but will be similar.
It works very well and I did fit the caster bushes but not for long as they didn't last. There is not much rubber on one side so given a bit of use they failed.
Use stock ones now and the car drives/steers well without any wheel wobble etc. tyre wear is good too.
If you are not on heavily corrugated roads or need a lot of flex it probably doesn't matter.
For a 2" lift it is borderline that the correction bushes need to be used, just my experience.
You will enjoy the improved suspension one it is fitted.
Also I had to fit an adjustable steering rod to centre the steering wheel, Mr Nissan fitted a non-adjustable one in my car.... WTF?

Bit if a long overdue shopping spree.
4 short travel shocks and top strut bushes for the wife's commo. Keeps collapsing bushes with the full length shocks, this better fix it.
Ordered the Titan draws ETA first week of December.
Albright solenoid.
Fridge when one comes up and drop slide to suit.
Also booked in for dual battery, reduction gears and long range sub tank.

Waecos are planets away from this rubbish. If you ever have a chance have a feel of one, open the lid, plug the power cable in at the back. Believe me you will see WHY these are cheap.

If the fridge was at fault in the second damaged fridge, why is the cable fried as far back as it is? You would have thought that there would be more damage on the compressor end where all the electrical doohickeys are.
I'd be more inclined to blame dodgy wiring/ installation and incorrect fuse type and size being used

No idea why there is no recall Clunky. The fridge is only NEW in the grand scheme of things. But call them up and ask why they don't sell them any more or why it's been completely removed from their website/shop.
It's not just because somebody wired their shit wrong.
As for similarity to Waeco, ust because they came out of same factory doesn't make it the same product. They may have used the same mould/plastics, look similar etc...
Their awnings come from the same place as TJM and ARB, are they the same? Their canvas might as well be baking paper. Thats how good it is.
Too many people jump on the "But it's from the same factory...." bandwagon too.
But let's forget that any of them caught fire for a moment....
Believe me the fridge is shit compared to a Waeco. And yes I am jumping on the SHIT bandwagon on this fridge because I have seen and touched one in person.
The overall feel of the unit is cheap. You plug the cable at the back and the whole assembly bends inwards and the plastics surrounding the electrical parts seem like they will crumble at the next speed hump....
Just my observation.

From my limited knowledge on Waeco fridges the Wiring as Clunk says needs to be the correct size,,etc
When ever someone says the red light is on and my fridge isnt working, bet your bottom dollar its a Waeco.
Ive been on many trips with a guy called Trevor the Waeco rep he was on board to answer any wiring related probs.

Yeah pretty cool. There was a guy a few years back making, i believe, a larger version of that. Which would charge your battery bank say in your camper or 4wd. They even had a video of it running. Wasnt cheap though but the charge rate was quite good from memory.
