Anything dairy or milk based should be used within 1 day of its use by date even if properly stored. The milk is actually full of live organisms and they can make you very sick. Even the UHT products have live bacteria, as does dried milk powder. For the cost of a new 1L bottle, not worth it.

MB I froze the remainder of our egg nog into icy pole moulds. Keeps best for extended periods that way & delicious on a stinking hot day ;)
I'd steer clear, as PeeBee mentioned, if it's past is used by otherwise.
