Replaced with a ctek d250 dual.
An hour and half of fault finding with (yendor's help) an hour and half for the install. Will move it into the glove box after my trip. And post some photos when complete

NOT HAPPY - just checked the Snorkel and found that it's not air/water tight. I can slide a piece of paper between the pipe from the airbox to where it connects to the guard firewall, looks like the silicon didn't stick. Now I'm wondering how airtight the joins under the guard are.
Had it professionally installed so I'll take it back and see what they have to say, but I'll be taking a look under the guard after I get it back.
On the bright side at least I found it now before I dipped it in the creek on the Cape trip.

I really wanted them to do a before and after test, but for various reasons, that didn't happen. So I'm pretty sure they just did a quick 1 run test to make sure boost was OK and didn't really fiddle with it. They didn't charge me for it so it's all good.

Umm yeah seems a little high, around double! Maybe the Beaudesert is that good lol

Not placing a whole lot of faith in it. Went for a run, boost seems to max at around 16psi, with spikes up to 18 for a fraction of a second, no real change there from the stock exhaust.

The change in the car is great though, smoother, better response and a slightly deeper note to the exhaust. Haven't had a chance to go on much of a drive but a couple of laps around the mount had me smiling.

The dyno sheet says the vehicle was in second, im guess its an auto? This would give you the higher torque rating displayed.

Exhausts don't give a whole lot more power, what they allow is boost to come on earlier.
Personally I would have jumped straight to the 3". This will allow for any future power increasing mods.

well Ive parked our old Patrol in the drive way for a well deserved break from towing my trailer all over the country.
He will be given a full freshen up before being designated our "get-away" Patrol.

now dont laugh too much, but here's what we introduced to take the load off,,,,
1989 F250 5lt auto, extractors, big bore exhaust, a/c, ps.
Runs lpg with dual lpg tanks and dual fuel tanks so we have an awesome range.
The most surprising thing, after having covered 7500k's in the last two weeks, this F250 costs $2.00 per hundred k's less to run then our old 4500 Patrol on gas!
Like I said, dont laugh too loud I have feelings you know,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

got out the 35x10.5 centerpedes and put them on the troll. (standard suspension) Ran it up the car ramps on opposite diagonal wheels and now wonder how to make them not scrub? the back seems fine just need to extend the bump stops but the front are going to grab the back of the front gaurd, which won't end nicely! Maybe massive bump stops? 3-4 inch lift in the pipe line but this won't help under flex.

Got busy today and dirty... :D
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2013/01/86.jpg

I had 2 broken grommets on my trailer vacuum brake setup so I decided to fix it.
Then as my wife got me a dual battery solenoid I decided to move the vacuum tank to fit the battery.
Well were the hell do I put it!!!!
The tank was 350mm long by 110mm diameter... Huge.. only one option
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2013/01/87.jpg

So with the tank cut down to about half it fitted nicely behind the alternator..
http://www.nissanpatrol.com.au/forums/images/imported/2013/01/88.jpg

While messing around in there I decided to also pull my vac pump off to change the leaking seal.
So that off and seal has been noted. For those who want to know its a 14.8 I'd, 30mm od and 7mm thick.
So hopefully I can get that Monday or overnight Tuesday and then start assemble Wednesday ready for our first family camping trip to beachport for the long weekend.

I'm aiming to have the dual battery setup and running to but we'll see...

Took up the challenge from a couple of modified Toyos for some off roading.
Hot and very dusty and as I've never got the Patrol wet before I decided to give it a wash before heading home. No one got bogged BUT one Toyo had a quite a bit of backwards forwards action to get out. Really spewing they got out as I really wanted to tow it.
Time to show them what a stock standard automatic Patrol, with AT's, an unreal LSD and Diff Locker as standard can do.

At the start of this week I lent my troll to my son as a daily driver. He checked the oil and water this morning and gave me a quick call to say that he had found a gasket, still wrapped in plastic, in the engine bay!

Had all my turbo gaskets replaced a few weeks ago and they told me there was one missing, and ordered a new one, + freight. I wonder if the one my son found is the one that was 'missing'?

I'm still trying to decide if it accidentally slipped from the mechanic's hands, out of sight and was an honest mistake, or whether they 'forgot' to put it in. Either way, I'm gunna be fronting the mechanic.

I'm not a happy chappy.

After lots of crawling, wriggling & shuffling underneath the Patrol, I have finally completed the re-blacking of the underbelly. Now it just looks 'normal' rather than the extensively stone chipped look it had previously. It was a big job which would have been far easier & better done if the canopy & cab had been removed & vehicle had been stripped back to the chassis. As it was, it was mainly a job to improve the aesthetics rather than a serious rustproofing job. I used the KBS 3 step paint system, but put a final topcoat of satin black on, which looks heaps better than the Gloss Rustseal. From my experience my advice to anyone contemplating using this paint is go for it, but check the 7 day weather forecast before starting. Not good in hot weather - it dries too quickly, & apparently humid & wet weather should be avoided to, as the paint is a moisture cure product. The finish is certainly tough, & a smooth finish is easily obtainable using a brush (unless you do it when the weater is too hot - I ended up stripping the tow bar a second time & repainting because of this. Overall the job is a significant improvement ........ but will soon be covered in dust & dirt again. :)

We have 180litre (150+30) onboard water capacity in the Patrol for two of us. We don't have to fill it, but as water is always the main limiting factor as to how long it's possible to stay away from 'civilisation' it gives greater options. I just have to find another hose with the same size end of the provent and to fit the 1/2inch end at the motor and I'll be sweet. As there is two different sized ends on my ZD30. 1/2inch on the motor and 5/8 on the air intake.

You might find that the CH1300 will do for both mate. It's soft enough to clamp down on the 1/2" and stretch on to the 5/8". The flared 22mm end is a perfect fit on the Provent, a bit of soapy water gets it on nice and easy then clamped.

Changed the park lights over to new T10 LED inserts, wired an extra 3m extension lead onto my air compressor to give a bit more user friendly length round the rig.

Installed the new 6" light bars yesterday

I did the same thing but gonna have to take the bloody bar off to get them in! Can't take the light fitting out because the bullbar sits too close. I'll just loosen the bolts and wiggle it a tiny bit out.

That's what I ended up having to do, just need to make sure you I clip the centre plastic grill thingy to help wiggle them about, damn tight in there but they look a lot cleaner and whiter

Installed my map sensor onto the firewall for my boost gauge, and ran some wire in for it, Now just gotta wait for my pod to arrive to install gauge.

Also used some sticky feet to tie off my mic as the lead keeps dropping down and brushing my leg, so now its all good and up high out of the way :)

Took time out and Rewired and tidied up the wiring to suit the camper, what a dodgy the previous owner did, bare wires, broken wires, broken connectors. Any wonder the lights didn't work properly towing the jet ski. All sorted now, clean and tidy and looks the part with the new metal plugs.

Finally put + & - bus bars behind the back seats, in front of my drawer system.
It will allow direct 12v from the aux battery for anther 5 items or so in the back, including the water pump I got for free!!
Also fitted a screw in power socket so the Engel power cord now screws in. As apposed to using the 'cigarette' lighter plug and have it rattle loose...again.

SO...I finally got my 40L Engel fridge connected to the aux battery, so I can take the keys out and lock the car, instead of having the accessories on.
Only took my 1 1/2 years.

Very happy with the results and I learnt how to do something new:-)

Wow.... Must be the week for it .... Had my valve clearances done this week plus injectors and new viscous fan, getting it tuned on the dyno this week....
Haven't seen the car yet as I am at work but they reckon it is a different car, I didn't even notice the injectors needed doing, they noticed it on the dyno two weeks ago when they did the uni chip!

My TB42 is fairly clapped out with 430,000 on the clock but I was very surprised to feel the difference in power from just doing the valves, so I imagine yours with new injectors and a tune on top will be a different car:-)

Replace the GU drivers side door window bailey channel. Paid around $15 for it from Clarke Rubber rather than the $190 Ni$$an wanted. Not exactly right but you can't really tell as I still kept the top moulded section. I also adjusted the door so it closed properly. Needs a new hinge but thats a job for later.

Removed the wire winch cable & roller fairlead & fitted the Dyneema & alloy hause. Knocked off just over 13 kg & feel a lot safer 'playing' with the winch now.
I reckon the wire cable must've been pretty new when I bought the vehicle, it was in very good condition. I'd expected it to be curl up & become unmanageable when laid out on he ground, but it just laid flat behaved itself. :)

When things were happening slower as I got closer to the tree I was winching the vehicle to, I thought briefly that the battery might be going flat, until I remembered that pulling power reduces with each layer on the winch. Phew!

Trust you did the first two rows tight then from side to side fast for the rope p

As for your old winch cable take it to a cable shop and get eyelets fitted both ends
cost is very minimal and makes a great extension cable if needed
