If you do the Vic trip, 100% make Mt.Buffalo a stop on your trip, its just outside of Porepunka, before Bright. Beautiful place. In Bright, the Bright Brewery is a must. Drinking beer on the banks of the Ovens river is one of my favorite past times. Winter is a great time to visit this area. If your not doing and 4wd tracks it will be o.k. As a lot of tracks will be closed up that way. Actually getting across the Snowy River rd from the Omeo Valley may prove difficult in winter.
    Thanks Mudski.

Thinking that I will do the High country in the Summer and Winter and yes will definitely have a look at MT Buffalo. I spent 6 years in Albury\Wodonga in the Army oh a few years back now.... ok more than a few. Was 1989 when I left. Back then we used to go to Beachworth for the pies and Bright for the beer. Will be interesting to see how much the place has changed.

So Im still tossing up between Fraser and the High country at this stage but thanks for the input.
Just about to jump into my next Patrol. A 2001 GU II TB45E .

WARNING!: Do not ever use a towball as a recovery point. They are not rated and can become a deadly projectile during a recovery if they snap off, and they have done so with tragic results in the past.
