why dont you just take the gasket out and trace it onto some tin /then cut it out
or go and get a new gasket and do the same

I did exactly what was suggested above using a off cut of colorbond steel, took me about an hour all up. I still have the original gasket as a template, doing another blocking plate would be easy.
