    Cheers guys I am struggling with this a bit and to top it off I am sick as a dog in bed (thank you Alexander)
    I am still not sure which way to go with this.. probably the easiest and maybe the cheapest is to get a short motor. . Readies will not budge with there price but stand by the engine as they say they know its history.

    Newby has made a lot of enquiries and the reco is looking to be much to expensive but machining is still an option but this time of year it is going to be hard.

    I have tried all morning to get the balancer off the engine but it is stuck pretty good and George came around briefly and had no luck.

    Thanks newby sean and ab for looking into these options.

    Soak the shit out of the balancer bolt in my special 50/50 acetone/auto transmission fluid penetrating oil mix.
