Well done to all those who have kicked the habit... "The Sequel" and I both gave up nearly 6 months ago, It's been our third attempt over many years. We both gave up cold turkey, I could never come to grips with cutting back.

What has helped this time is that we both gave up at the same time and neither of us wants to be the first to give up, giving up.

As an old and sage person once said: ONE CIGARETTE IS TOO MANY, A THOUSAND IS NEVER ENOUGH
*When I die I want to die like my Grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming like his passengers.
*Making it idiot proof? Don't bother someone will just make a better idiot! My parents did..... (03 GU Ti 4.8)

That's just as big an influence for us - the dollars (the health factor is a given though). As we both smoke, we'd probably be burning through the better part of $200 per week!!! No sh!t ... If we can pull the pin soon, that's all the dosh (and more) for the trip next year sorted!!

Rito heres somethin I've done this Anzac day will be 5 years i rekon or maybe 6. I was a hard core smoker, smoked flat out for 17 years minimum 40 a day + upto 20 captain black sweet filtered cigars! I tried cold turkey.....wasnt very pleasant to be around apparently. Tried patches 2x 24 hr patches at a time and still chaffed a pack in a sitting at the pub. Finally had enough and booked hypnosis. Havent looked back no cravings no withdrawals nothing. (Woke up with a sore arse hahahahahahhahaha) but no smokes. You dont actually go to sleep are totally aware of your surroundings. Maybe twice a year i have a dream that i light up a smoke and wawake up pissd of with myself then realise it was just a dream, and alls good. Just a friendly reminder i spose. Anyway wifey also did it and a couple of mates all still non smokers.

IF YA DONT GET STUCK YA AINT TRYIN HARD ENOUGH........OR YA TOOK THE CHICKEN TRACK

WARNING: TOWBALLS USED WITH SNATCHSTRAPS DO KILL!!

The old boy did the same and hasn't smoked for about 19 years - it was pretty radical in it's day (going to hypnosis) but it worked ...
