If you want distance with your lights, you cant go past HID. They will always have a longer throw than LED. LED however is awesome for short to middle distance fill. I have been considering buying one of the "spread" type beam ARB LED lights to sit in between my two HID's........
Also those lights can be had for a fraction of the price if you shop around . Instead of arb logo at the bottom it says led but they are the same light.
