Someone offered to swap diffs with me. He has a gu with 3.9:1 and I run 4.1:1 ratio on my td42 gq wagon. What would this swap do and would it be any good at all? Cheers in advance

Only if your going to run 29 inch tyres instead if 31 inch
Depends on what tyre size you're running but as above, that would be a bad swap.

He wants to swap out the 3.9s for exactly the same reason why you don't want them! They will make yours a Slug mate. You want some 4.3s

You should in technical terms "Kick him in the nuts" for even suggesting the swap. Maybe do the swap if he changes both sets of diffs, and pays for all consumables and gives you $700 odd, so you can then go buy some 4.3's for him to put in.
