Racv were over a grand for my 94 td turbo 4.2 auto low ks policy and would only insure for 6 grand , toldem the motor was worth that and if they could get one for 6 grand id take a dozen , ended up with shannons 13k agreed plus extras for 700 odd .
seems to be hit and miss from what im reading from a lot of insurance co,s
Just thought i'd give an update on a topic most people find of interest.
DGA will no longer insure my 4.2 for agreed value as its just clicked over 10 years old. - they didnt mention this, but i check my insurance every year so this is a good time to give them a call if you are unsure!
I've done a bit of looking around and GIO and AAMi will give me the highest agreed value at 44070 including accesories.
I'm still waiting on TCIS but i know last year they couldnt match DGA.
I want to change from DGA now, they started off really good but keep changing their policy on me and will insure me for less and less as time goes on. I don't mean a little bit either, I mean a lot. I was insured for about 32k and has now gone down to about 10k. It costs me less now but I would rather pay more and have the cover I did.

After many phone calls and online enquiries, NRMA were highest agreed value and cheapest for my ute only last month. $545 for $38600 from memory.
At the end of the day, all you have is yourself and all you need is your friends (and in our case our Patrol)

Do not go near TCIS:
Before oamps joined/took over I was paying $56.69 per month which was $680 per year in total payments
Now with oamps I am quoted $1043.33 per year…………………tossers
Got a reply to my rant with then today:

The premium is due to exceptional claim circumstances on the Enthusiast portfolio, it is not due to us merging with OAMPS, all the Enthusiast polices have increased. We did requote with Allianz for a premium of $414.76, however we can only cover vehicles over 10 years old at Allianz for market value.
To hell with them

Hey All,
I just called AAMI about our Patrol renewal. 2006 GU with some extras. Market value was $25,000 - changed to agreed value of $28,000. With $450 excess and included windscreen cover.
Original renewal was $127 per month (ouch), but by removing me as a listed driver as I usually only drive it once a fortnight (if that) ..... this reduced it to $98 !!!
Apparently 28yr old females seem to be 'high risk' for a 4x4 at almost $30 a month!
As AAMI still cover occasional drivers, they totally agreed that driving it less than once a fortnight I don't need to be listed.
So be careful if you really need to list partners/occasional drivers on there!
