    Hey Neet,

Nice truck! Did you take the bar off to paint it or do it in situ?

I'd also be keen to see the switches on the a pillar next time you've got the camera out.

    Top work.

Having been a ford man i'm sad at the experience but we're all patrol brothers now!

Cheers for the comments guys. Progress will be slow, but I'll get there in the end!

I was also a Ford man ( BA Turbo was the car alluded to in the first post). I have one of these full of Carling switches.

As for the bullbar, I painted it in situ, couple of tricky spots to get too, but I'm confident that I have it 99.99% covered.

I have -22 offset wheels, so I only really see rubbing on the inside of the rear wheel flare. A 2" lift would be all you'd need to run 35's everywhere without scrubbing I reckon (provided you had -22 offset wheels)

I've made a few changes to the truck since then.

    1. Voltage displays under the subtank switch.
    2. Dual USB plugs in the back of the centre console to keep the kids iPads on the go.
    3. Rear barn door, and under bonnet lighting care of some 5050 LED strip.
    4. A pair of 12v sockets ( and a fuse box) in the rear for the fridge, etc.
    5. Modified Dual battery system, not perfect yet. Going to get a 3ltr or 4.2ltr airbox for this so I can run the second battery in the normal place (stupid ABS).
    6. Repainted the bar in a gloss black, as the satin was starting to look quite sad.
    7. Currently in the process of getting my arse into gear and making up a winch plate.

Ohh, and I got myself a new set of 35" BFG KM2's last week. MTZ's were quite bald by the time they were retired!

Depending on how the winch plate idea turns out, I'll either get the front bar powder coated, or I'll source a factory winch bar.

I've also experienced the fabled 'factory alloy falling off the car' that so many of us have come to know and love. At 110km/h no less

So we had a crack at a winch plate over the last day or so, I think it came up really well. Unfortunately my rum intake exceeded my photo taking rate, and as such a large portion of the build was not photographed.

Here she is stripped down to her undies:

And here it is test fitting the base plate:

To the front of this plate we added and additional plate that wrapped around the front of the base plate. To this we added gussets top and bottom, and then bolted the fairlead onto the front of it.

    And the finished product:

My winch has been sitting around since June, so it was great to finally get it on the car.

I'm using a Carling switch as an Isolator at the moment. I'll be getting a twist lock one, similar to the one below just for additional peace of mind.
