About to head off soon to pick up my shocks, hope they are everything they are meant to be?
I will post up pics when I get them... Long drive tonight and a couple of stops on the way.
Thought I would up date where I am at as far as fixing all the bloody issues go?
The alternator has started to get noisy again and I think maybe the bearing in it is shot but it is the temporary one as I took my 120amp one out a few months ago to do repairs to it... so it looks like I have to get off my butt and put the big one back in.
The starter motor got swapped out last week as it would not throw out properly or go back in quick enough.... it will get pulled apart and cleaned and kept as a spare.
The uni's have been changed and the diff oil and while I was under the car fitting my awesome shocks I noticed the breather was not attached? it really pays to do these checks before going away and not after when the horse has already bolted!!
So I think I am going to drop the oil I only put in the other day and put some more new oil in the LSD just to make sure... for the sake of 2lt's of oil it's cheap insurance.
I still have no central locking and have not had a chance to check some things but still ordered a new unit anyway? the box was under the water line that controls the locking.
Still have little niggling things but overall a massive improvement on how it was a few weeks ago but it has been a costly exercise$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
If I am to do this trip next year I want to treat my car with some respect and get it up to a standard that I will feel comfortable with doing such a long journey?
I think I will also change my gearbox oils and I have a breather kit sitting here I think I will finally fit the bloody thing?? fun fun fun!!
Good to see you thinking of making the effort mate no joy in fixing
things for the sake of a mud puddle when you can go around it
thats for the young bucks
Replaced the control box but still no joy and as I had locked my keys in the car while testing George came round and broke in for me and said it sounded like the door actuator in the drivers door...
The control box was rooted and did need replacing anyway and only cost $10 and the door actuator cost another $12 and all fixed... I now have central locking again.
There are some other issues I am still stuffing with and hope to have them sorted soon when I take my holidays.
The fricking locker has still not turned up... more than 6 weeks now??
I can see why so many Q's get stolen, it only took me 1 min to break in and i was being a PITA talking trash while doing it lol
Jonathan where do they "Make" them ?? We should go down there and show them how " happy " you are to wait for the locker to turn up.........
South Australia. .... says it all hey?
I will ring tomorrow and let them know it is no way to do business. .
If any part of the process is made overseas are they supposed to divulge if I ask?
