The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

If you're gonna strip the interior/carpet, have you considered vinyl then instead? Might help in case of these incidents in the future.

So I got new uni's for the rear shaft but while fitting them there were problems so I used the one from the donor car which were not in as good condtion but my car drives perfect now???

Now this brings me to the question has anyone ever bent a rear shaft????????????????? (the extra question marks are for you Lucas)

Even the clutch feels good now although I only nipped up to the supermarket quickly tomorrow will be the real test but for now it is 100 times better than before changing the tail shaft.

Being the owner of a DX with vinyl floor covering I am not at all convinced that it would be better in the case of a flooded car. When I bought the car it smelled a bit musty in the cab, but I thought it would go away if I let it 'air out'. But it didn't, it got worse. In part because I had a leak when it rained, but mainly because all the insulation under the vinyl was sopping wet & not drying out because it was under the vinyl. With the leak fixed & the vinyl & insulation removed to dry out (took about 10 days) & replace, all is now good.

Cheers Mark I will remember that for next time...

I forgot to mention that last night while putting the rear shaft in I noticed the left rear shock pissing oil out of it, it is a Peddars shock.

Should I try and just replace one or do I get a pair of something else, whats the go with mixing front and rear to different brands???
