    Classified Ads

Classified Ads are available in only a few categories such as the services and franchises category as a means to advertise your item and generate multiple sales leads. This unique format does not enable buyers and sellers to transact online through eBay and is not available for eBay Feedback. However, if the ad has a Best Offer option, you can transact online through eBay.

Classified Ads have the following features:
List your asking price. No bidding takes place.
Interested buyers fill out a contact form, and their information is sent to you.
Revise item description in your listing at any time while it is still active.
    Rules

The seller must treat the buyer's contact information in full compliance with eBay's Privacy Policy. This policy prohibits sharing the buyer's information with third parties as well as use of the buyer's information for any purpose other than communicating with the buyer about the item, unless expressly permitted to do so by the buyer. Failure to comply with this policy can result in the seller's suspension or expulsion from the eBay community.

    Classified Ads with Best Offer

The Classifieds with Best Offer format is a simple eBay selling solution that takes the hassle and upfront cost out of listing your unwanted household items.

Items are listed using the Classified format and must also include Best Offer. Sellers set an advertised price for their item and open it up for offers. Buyers submit their offers for the item, and can submit up to a maximum of three offers. The Seller can then review all offers received, and accept or decline them.

Fees for Classified Ads and Classified with Best Offer vary. Visit the fees page for full information.

I reckon its fake. There is way too much detail in the add suggesting that he knows a fair bit about the GUIV TD42Ti and i doubt very much that he knows them and doesn't know that that is a $40k+ car in a heart beat. It has 79,000kms on it!!

    Fake for sure!
    Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!! ....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.

Can anyone tell me what the Bright Blue box is in the second last pic of the engine bay near where the second battery would go?

I'll bet the seller will be blown away by the number of people who have added this to their 'watch' list.

Have a look on car sales I had a browse and by all the others on there this one would be a 55k car. There are utes on car sales advertised for 65k and that's for a 2002 model. Even seen a gq wagon on there advertised for 35k.

I got suckered in like this with a pristine 100 series 'cruiser (yeah the bad ol' days - turned to the light side since then) '08, low kms, all the extras......$35k.

The vehicle was legit (VIN, rego etc). But the location given didn't match the area code of the phone number given. I couldn't get in phone contact with them so emailed. About a week later they got back via email, all apologetic because their mother had died in the UK and they had to go back. But miraculously the car was in Darwin, all I had to do was pay them and all would be fine (their pitch was the transaction was all covered by carsales.com.au rules blah blah blah). Anyway I said I wanted to see it before I bought it, and what address could I see it at (they knew I was in Perth). They came back, nothing to worry about just transfer the money. So I asked again, what address could I see the car at. I think they got the hint after that and that was it.

It was too good to be true but what a bargain it would have been!

So you know what they say about if it's too good to be true. And in this case it certainly was. I reported it. Here's a carsales link that gives you the tips, and I dare say if it can happen at carsales it'd be the same on ebay

    http://helpcentre.carsales.com.au/sc...payment-scams/

If it's legit though - I'll be the first to buy you a beer. The you can take me for a ride!

And if it's not, you've just saved yourself $17k and some really long looks in the mirror (and bruises from the minister of finance).

Re: What do you think Bargain or a scam?

Don't think you'll have to buy any beers. There were similar ads on one of expat sites here when I was looking for my first car. All had same theme - pics of perfect car, sob story excuse why they had to give it away, no local number and "trust me" - just send deposit via western union as I'm stuck out of country for a few weeks ... SCAM is my vote
