The "problem", your words.
Is that you have increased the number of bulbs in the hazard light circuit by doing the dummy tail light mod.
The original hazard light fuse was only calculated to run the original standard hazard lights, this does not included bull bar lights, dummy tail lights or trailer lights.
When ever an extra light is added to the system the amount of current in the system increases.
The standard 10 amp fuse is only designed to run the factory front and rear hazard lights.
When you add a bull bar with lights, extra tail lights or a trailer, this increases the load on the hazard light circuit above 10 amps that's why the fuse blows.
The quick and easy fix is to replace the 10 amp fuse with a 15 amp fuse, or as 3D has stated reduce the load on the circuit by fitting LED bulbs.

Hey Yendor and other advisers.
I got home and first thing i did was get my glasses and have another look at the fuse.bugger me if it wasn't blown
I dropped a 15 amp fuse in just to see and sure enough hazard light are working as they should do.
Im still not happy with the upping the fuse to 15 amp as i have concerns about the wiring not being rated for that ampage,so ill source some LED's and do the 4 corners as was suggested and retry the 10 amp.
In the mean time ill leave the 15amp in as its now roadworthy and in an emergency im covered.
next time ill get my Glasses out first before i trust my APIA eyes:P

Heaps on here with the 15amp upgrade, still to hear from anyone that has experienced any issues because of it. Son in law is an auto elec and he didn't see any issues with it.

Good job on sorting it out, yep replacing the rear bulbs with LEDs is a good option.
If you decide to just leave it as it is now, the flasher unit will more then likely fail before the wiring does, even then, this will depend on how often and for how long the hazards lights are on for.

guys, thanks for this post, it just sorted out a long running issue with my GU for the past 3 years, 3 years ago at 9pm on a rainy night I had a blowout on my camper on a freeway around Logan, I had to slow down to 20kph & hit my hazards but the fuse blew, I couldnt get off the freeway for appx 500m, I was fully loaded & cars where skidding & all manner of shyte was happening behind me, I limped off onto a side section 2 foot off the freeway & had to replace the tyre in the dark with my 4 kids in the car whilst cars were flying past me at 100kph, I was never so scared, I couldnt change that tyre quick enough, it has since done it appx 6-8 times since but only when I have the camper on, I now keep 3-4 spare fuses in my finger well in the door for this reason, this weekend I am dropping in a 15 amp fuse, I have always refused to put one in previously because you just dont do that but the wiring was tested twice & all was good, thanks again all
