    hazard light failer.

    G'day guys/gals.
I've just finished the dummie tail light mod on my 98 gu,works and looks great.
Unfortunatly my hazard lights seem to have stopped working.they worked after the mod when i tested all the lights but seem to have stopped a day later, all the indicators work and all the indicator lights work with central locking.(flash once for lock and 4 times for open)
I've checked the fuze under the bonet 10amp and that was not blown
Would it be a relay( dont know where that is) or something else that i dont know about?
    Any advice greatly appreciated.
    Steve.

I was told that they would blow as fuse was weak if towing and used your hazard. I'd be re checking your connections with a multi meter,
Check all new earths as well

Ive towed a trailer before and had to use hazards without a prob, what i will do after i get this sorted will be to use led globes to take a bit of pressure of the fuse,
do you happen to know where the hazard relay is located?
all joints were soldered and the earth is on bare metal.

On the GU its under bonnet in front of driver, I already have all globes either LED or HID.
Lost pics of globes but only needed 50ohm resistor on every corner for indicators

The GUs use the same flasher unit (relay) for the hazards and indicators. If your indicators are working I don't think your flasher unit is the problem.

Are your sure you checked the correct fuse under the bonnet? replace it with a 15 amp fuse anyway.

If the fuse is not blown you may have a problem with your hazard light switch, try pressing the hazard switch 20 or so times and see if it starts working.

    Hi Mate,

I've done this mod and it's always the hazard light fuse that blows, replace it with a 15A one and it will work fine (even towing).
    Cheers

Yender, first thing ill do when i get back to the car is press hazard light button 20 or so times and see if thats the culprit.
And im reasonably confident i checked the right fuse according to the fuse cover diagram.its a 10 amp fuse.
    thanks.

I would replace the hazard light fuse first.

Thanks for the reply,Im hesitant to just drop a larger fuse untill i know what the problem is.Reading other posts with simular problems they advise caution when upping the size of a fuse.
