running 33's with 4.1 ratios. trial and error the first time only moved it a small amount anti clockwise and went out further so i went the other way a touch and got it spot on. had the car strapped on a hoist with rear whells off the ground, with my car 100kph by gps in 5th gear it was doing 2100rpm, while car was running i put in 5th gear then wound the idle up until it sat on 2200 and set the speedo at that. dont recomend you try this at home can be a bit of a danger on jack stands

    Thanks.

Should be fine if you have the rear on stands and remove the rear wheels.

I came up with this idea for easier speedo adjustment. I drilled a hole through the cluster inline with the resistor. This way I can adjust it without having to dismantle the cluster. When adjustment is done, just put some sticky tape over the hole to stop dust getting in...

Notice the hole that I drilled into the white plastic housing..

Now I can adjust the potentiometer without dismantling the cluster...

I have turned the pot a few degrees clockwise, and test it soon...

It didn't have any affect on the ODO. I'm not too fussed as the ODO and Speedo were each out by different percentage. I really only use the ODO for maintenance schedules and can easily calculate the actual values.

Either way I look at it, adjusting the variable resistor is a very easy fix for the speedo. It only needed about 20 degrees in the clockwise direction, for 33" tires.
