The date for this trip is 26-27th Nov 2011 (less than 2 weeks)

Hope you guys can make it Rick, im sure Fran will have a ball, she has the best set -up for river crossing shots

Last time travelling to Warwick most of us met @ TORQ4x4 for a 6.30am departure, this seemed to suit everyone well so may i suggest meet in the same area/time this trip ?

The following map link should give approximate indication of time and distance we will travel on the first day (departing Torq4x4 ,Johnson rd).....

    MAP

Total trip time (non stop) is about 4hrs and 216 km, if we leave Johnson rd at 6.30am, in theory, we can include a 30 min stop at Boonah (for fuel etc), and allow a 1 hour stop for lunch somewhere, and still arrive at camp at 12 o'clock mid-day (if we don't make any other stops).

Sunset on Sat 26th is 6.25pm (last light 6.50pm) so id say we need to be at Camp Lake Fire by 4pm, this should give us enough time to get in, set up camp, and hopefully still be able to get to a position to Photograph the sunset with some water in the foreground ?

So if all goes to plan, that allows 4 hours of possible photography time before we get to camp, add to that, another couple of hours around sunset/night time, and we could see up to 6 hours "shutter slapping"

we'll be there, gone the la2y route and booked a cabin. No aircon but fans and lake bree2es. Looking forward to it. I wonder if my tinny on its trailer with 13" wheels would be viable along the tracks........ maybe next time

Considered booking a cabin myself mate, so not sure it's more the 'practical' route than the 'lazy' route ...

Hmmmm ... still might yet ...

He-he, funny i also thought about a cabin, but didn't when i read they are "minimum 2 night stay".

So did you get one for "one" night Silver or paying for two ?

The missus is out from the trip, but I will be there. I am gonna get some lessons on how to use her new camera and will bring it along and have a crack. I'm excited.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
