    Cheers Mark.

    Good question Mark,

The rule of thumb is: You never use a converter from a trans thats lost gears or has blown because the clutch materials & metal fragments that come from this kind of damage ends up in your converter & even if your converter isn't damaged already & you fit it into another trans the materials will end up being pumped right through your new trans & damaging it as well along with your converter.

My best advice is to try & get the converter that came from the trans you have picked up or get yours services or changed over. Also never fit a converter to a trans without replacing thr converter seal. If you don't & it leaks the only way to fix it is to remove the trans, pull the converter out to changer the seal.

I make a habit of changing them when fitting a S/H auto trans just to be on the safe side anyway whether it needs it or not. It a cheap part & 10 min work which to me means piece of mind.
