    Get an oil can with a long flexible hose and small nozzle. Do a compression test. Remove the test gauge and squirt a smidgen of engine oil into the cylinder.(Not more than a spoonful of oil as you don't want to hydrolock the engine) Turn over the engine a few times to spread the oil.
    Now do another compression check. If the reading significantly increases, then it indicates worn rings.
    My advice is: not to follow my advice.
