    Glow Plug Power Cable Corroded

I am new to the forum and very inexperienced so have found the information shared by everyone invaluable. Just thought I would share something I found accidentally today on my 2001 3.0 Y61 Patrol. I removed the intercooler to inspect and found the glow plug power cable corroded, and it came apart when checking. Local Nissan dealer in Perth advised part is not available from Nissan in Australia so 8 weeks delivery. I managed to repair by soldering and crimping a new section of cable while I source the part elsewhere. (part number 240-24L I believe?). I did notice cold starts were a bit sluggish recently on relatively cold mornings (it's Perth so 8 deg min). I am assuming the cable was making minimal contact with the glow plugs.

Glad you found it before it became a big problem. Thanks for posting the info.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
