    warn winch not working

    hi guys/girls, I tried to use my winch the other day and all that happens is the solenoid clicks when the remote is operated. Any idea's would be appreciated !!!

    I'd check the solenoid box for corrosion on the cables interconnecting the solenoids. If after a good clean and sanding on the terminals, etc, if the click-but-no-action persists, you can try to change positions between the 4 solenoids, to see if the problem changes place. When the winch only works in one direction but not the other, this changing of position of the solenoids can usually point into the faulty one. Winch not working on both directions usually means bad connections.

    Thanks Braz, any thoughts on the best way to get to the solenoid box as it is factory fitted to the nissan front bar. The winch is a xd9000 by the way!!

    How the hell do you remove the lower clips on the front grille???

    Check the earth - small black wire to the solenoid be it either the relay or solid state set up. Its going to be simple

    That depends on what year Patrol you are talking about... If a GU4 and up, the clip has a square head with a slot and the grill has a square slot rotated 45 degrees. With a flat screwdriver you "twist" the clip head so that it matches the orientation of the slot on the grill.
