    Reverse light issue

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on why my reverse lights arnt working, I have a manual tb42 efi with an auto loom. I have been trying to get the new reverse lights to work but when I put it in reverse the relay starts buzzing, I have put a new switch on the gearbox and still no go new reverse lights the work because I put power from battery to lights and they worked
Iv traced all the wiring and it all seems to be in good condition and don’t understand why it’s not working

Hopefully someone can help me out

Check your earth points as a starter, the relay may be chattering due to poor connections

OK, I would crack the joint at the very least and retighten, and best would be to remove and emery off the surface to ensure there is not a dry joint, then re-tighten. Its a painful process, maybe look at the loom connections down near the lights themselves, then also near the relay.

Iv done all that been over pretty much everything
I wonder if it has something to do with the auto loom trying to communicate to the manual box and it’s just not working
Maybe need to bypass it some how ?

You may have a point, the auto is probably working off a pressure switch and the manual box a mechanical contact - surely someone out in this forum has come across this already?

It the relay is 'buzzing' it sounds like the wiring is not correct. Make sure the connections to the relay actually match the relay that you are using. Check that you are getting full battery voltage across the COIL of the relay when the reverse lights are supposed to be operational. If so, it should not buzz. Can you apply voltage to the relay output and see if that light the reverse lights to prove that part of the circuit.
